3DS Streetpass Experiences

It's ridiculous how many people are playing Fire Emblem in Manhattan right now - nearly 2/3 the people I meet seem to be playing it.

I'm very fortunate and lucky to live in a high traffic place - street passing is easy here... people visiting New York, just get up in the morning for rush hour and ride the train... you'll get people on the platforms as you pass, or people on your train that step on.

After 2 weeks of owning mine I have only got one streetpass and it was with a friend

not like I expected lots of people here in Costa Rica, but come on!

Streetpassed Shane Bettenhausen a few weeks ago, also going to the Luigi kickoff at Nintendo World Store should net me a few more passes. I have about 250 since launch day

Can't wait for PAX East and all dem StreetPasses.

That's seriously the reason I want to go...

Yeah I should complete the puzzle soon as a result....

Is there a limit to how many passes you can get at one time?

You can get 10 tags at a time. This was really annoying when I attended one of the Zelda concerts. Between each song I had to visit the gate for 10 more people. I didn't have time to use them in Find Mii but I was at least able to get a piece from each one. I think I ended up getting around 110 tags that night.

Yeah, Super Mario 3D Land is 3 people, Theatrhythm is 24 people, Etrian Odyssey 4 is 99 people. (Yet you can only have 40 street passes within the game, so if you fill that queue up, you'll be spending time deleting about 59 other entries you got.

still not clear how it works sorry...

So if I get ten, I can use them in Find Mii, to clear out my queue and then get another ten?

Did you just contact Customer Support @ NOA to get that? Local meetups here aren't as big as the AZ ones, but if NOA was willing to supply some bonuses for the local competitions at the meetups, that'd be cool. :)
No, they sent us those because our group won a contest they were having on Meetup.com. They haven't really done anything similar since. :(

It's funny, I was considering getting a new 3DSXL this coming Sunday but I don't think I will anymore solely because I don't want to earn all of my damn puzzle pieces again.

Still, right now the stupid Brain Training puzzle is annoying me, solely because barely anyone I've passed recently has pink pieces.

Pretty much everyone I've encountered around the GTA is playing Fire Emblem Awakening right now.

Except me :(

System Transfer? Streetpass your original system 2-3 times per day and get a piece each time?

Oh, okay. Would be nice if they encouraged StreetPass meetups, but with 50 states and many with multiple major metropolitan areas, it'd be prohibitive to do so. Maybe have some official StreetPass meetups like with the Cube Clubs from back in 2002? (Loved the Cube Clubs back then.)

Went to Birmingham Comic Con this weekend and was able to get every single pink piece I was missing. Need a lot of blues, still, but at least I can try and earn those without bumping into other people.

I've been working on bringing my 3ds with me on my walk to work. Have had some success and up to about 18 passes in a month. Not awesome but way better than 0 I had for the last 6 months

The thing is, I never had any intention of getting rid of my original 3DS so I'm not sure if I would even bother with a system transfer at all. Plus, I was going to only keep the XL at home, since my regular system fits perfectly in my Peace Walker PSP case whenever I travel.

Wasn´t sure whether to whinge in here or another 3DS thread, but since this is sort of tied to Streetpassing......

I´m really disappointed that the maps in SP haven´t been updated yet. I am meeting people from all over Australia and New Zealand, and the odd person from Japan but on the map location screen only Japan is supported. I just have a big question mark on both AU & NZ.

Are any other locations not supported yet?

what do you use your coins on?

Back when there were people at the Streetpass Meetups with all the pink pieces and the puzzles were actually done, nothing. Bought all the stuff I could in SwapNote, and then just sat at 300 for a long time. Have nothing to buy now, either, but I'm not at 300 coins again, yet. Just need those pink pieces ...

Those pink puzzle pieces are mocking me. :(

Nintendo is making it impossible to get them by not putting out more special characters in Spotpass that have all the pieces. Doing that meant that everyone at the Meetups suddenly had a chance to have more pieces, unlike the current scenario where no one has anything I don't, and I'm missing most of the pinks in 3 puzzles. :(

Plenty, but Australia seems too big to have been missed. Most of the places without maps that I've seen have been kind of small, relatively.

I hope not. At least not until I've finished 2 (not secret) two more times!
I've been finished for months. :(

I've already gotten every hat on two systems, and I'm almost done on my third...lol.

When there's no new Puzzle Swap panel out and I have all the pieces collected, there's nothing for me to do in my StreetPass Mii Plaza anymore besides greet the people I StreetPass at the gate. While I much prefer it that way at conventions and such where your Plaza gets maxed out every few minutes (it makes checking StreetPasses SO much easier!), it sucks anytime else because I can't really use the Miis I StreetPass for anything. I guess there's always Accomplishment hunting! lol

Haha, I have all of the pink pieces and I only got a 3DS XL about 2 months ago. :p

So you went to a Con. Great. For those of us where a 3DS heavy Con isn't an option, it's not so great. They need to put out special "have every pink piece" SpotPass characters multiple times a year for us "regular" people to have a chance to finish the puzzles.

StreetPass is really strange. Our office has a "daycare" with a pile of systems so I get a lot, but I very rarely encounter a random person out in the wild. I literally never StreetPassed once when I lived in New York. I'm not sure how Nintendo expects people in small towns to ever complete the puzzles with pink pieces.

Nope, haven't been to a con ever. I just got really lucky and go around downtown. They should do that with holidays or something. Would be a nice present.

You have to find out who is responsible for the event planning. Those are the guys.

What is everyone's greeting on StreetPass?

Mine is "Do u eat poop???" quoting a famous quote on GAF. :p

It is pretty hilarious watching each person saying "Hi" to me, and then I say that.

Haha, I just hold my 3DS and start swinging my arm. It makes for a great
poor
workout.

I might stalk you so I can have your Mii say that to me. Maybe...

Left the 3DS at home for the first time in a while. I feel so naked. Why even bother leaving the house if I'm not collecting coins or passes!?

I'm disappointed in Nintendo's restriction on streetpasses. I went to Megacon last Sunday and expected to get a ton of new Miis + Puzzle Pieces. Instead, I only had 10 because of the limit they have in place.

i was sad to miss MegaCon this year (we should do a meetup thread for next year's!), but yeah, thankfully i learned about that limit before the zelda concert...it sucks to find out the hard way. i almost wish they'd use some of my SD space to store more people's data so i dont spend like 1/3 of the few big events we have out here constantly checking my mii plaza.

That's why you check your 3DS every five minutes at conventions, lol.

I'll be going to Phoenix Comicon with FOUR 3DS systems this year... I'm absolutely dreading checking the StreetPasses. ._. lol I keep my main 3DS tethered to my wrist with the Circle Pad Pro wrist strap so that it's always on hand and checking my StreetPass tags is quicker and easier.

I'm doing two 3DSes at PAX East. It's especially painful since my right trigger is broken on my main 3DS...
