Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Mainly because it is counter intuitive for me as R is L and L is R. Although I never looked to change in the settings...but that is besides the point.
I inverted the camera in the settings as soon as I entered the first dungeon. The shoulder buttons were too slow for me too.

Why not use the right analog instead of L and R?

L and R feels way better to me for getting around the dungeons. I use O a lot to 180 after getting chests from dead-ends etc and then L and R to steer myself around.

Also, P4G is absolutely flawless apart from the fact that L and R do the opposite of moving the right analog stick left and right so I can't really go between them.

So the Music Unlimited app finally got an update...for button support. Still missing the new high quality audio mode that is available on android and with a browser for weeks.
The iOS version is still missing offline music so maybe I should be happy we at least have that feature.

I really would like to see if they can get it to play in the background on vita. Its annoying it wont work this way unless you use offline mode. Would really like to listen to stuff while browsing gaf or even playing a game but it doesnt work.

It was announced a while ago, yeah. I think there's only been a small number of screenshots for the console versions released. Wouldn't surprise me if we saw little to nothing in the way of Vita shots until launch, though. :/

yeah it's always like this with Vita games (most recent example is Sonic Racing 2) some publishers just don't care.

Interested in Moto Gp but I need to see how the lack of analog triggers affect the game

they'll have to use right analog stick for acceleration I guess.

The biggest hold back for the series for me is how long it takes to do things. A monster fight will take you 30-40 mins. The build up to that fight takes even longer as you gather resources etc etc. I can totally see why people like that but a lot of people just dont have that much time on there hands to dedicate to such a thing and there fore find it a slow and long winded game. I imagine back in my late teens / very early 20's I would have been able to get into it.

How long do you guys take to kill a big monster? Non-G rank Rathalos takes me about 10-15 mins to kill (with same tier gears). G-Rank Rathalos probably takes 15-20 mins (with same tier gears). Farming takes 5 mins if you know what you're farming for. Money is basically infinite, as long as you use the crop fields to make money.

They're a huge step up in terms of audio quality. The bass-impact isn't just a gimmick. If you set to about 25%, that's the sweet spot, any higher and stuff starts to sound distorted. The closed-cup design works really well. I find they do feel a bit tight, and will start to bother your ears after 3 hours or so.. Not the best for comfort, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The Pulse last about 5 hours, and takes 2 hours to charge.. Very good overall, some slight discomfort after long use. But you'd be hard pressed to find better sounding headphones for use with the Vita. The extra volume (games sound twice as loud) and the bass boost bring out the best in sound from all Vita games.

Sounds awesome, I'll be getting a pair for my birthday hopefully :) Usually on a budget so I won't be able to get them right now :\ They can work in unpowered mode via aux right? I was reading stuff about them but a lot of people say different things. I read that they can also run via aux out from the usb dongle?

Got the platinum in Sound Shapes (and I guess 1 for ps3 as well). I haven't raged at a game in so long. Fucking indie platformers, what a goddamn worthless genre. Remind me to never buy one again even if it offers a platinum trophy.

Let me guess, you were stuck at Deadmau5's death mode stages? :b

Well Sony new strategy is to make Vita an indieStation portable,so be prepare for lots of them..hopefully.

and why are you forcing yourself on a game you don't like just for trophies?...do you buy EA games for trophies too(you can tell me I wont tell anyone)

My personal favorites would be OMG-Z (chain reaction zombie puzzle game),

why the PSM version don't support touch?

Death mode in SS is awful and entirely unlike other indie platformers.

Don't let death mode sour what is otherwise a great game.

I've personally really enjoyed:

PS Minis:

Wizorb
Tetris
I must Run!
Zenonia (it's not too bad for fans of 2D action/rpgs)
Scary Girl
Age of Zombies
The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus
Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess

Mobile:

Aqua Kitty
Haunt the House
Life of Pixel
Lemmings
Beats Slider

Oh yeah, I'm definitely enjoying it, I was just taken aback at how much I just pressed the "X" button for the first two hours of my game time.

I've actually cooled off a lot on JRPGs due to some of the absurd tropes that plague the genre (like every other genre, to be fair), but games like Ni No Kuni and Persona 4 have been pulling me back in. I'm really enjoying the characters and narrative in Persona 4. I'm getting more into it now that it's starting to feel more like an RPG (I can finally start looking at my stats and Personas, for example).

How's Zinonia? I heard on release it had a lot of bugs, crashes, and framerate issues. Have these been fixed?

Well I didn't really cruise through any of them except for maybe 2. But the last one I had was aquatic or whatever and that's the one I failed the most at. Not a good idea making a vehicle that controls as well as the Mako in mass effect and forcing me to make tight maneuvers where if I get within 3 inches of anything I die, all in like 25 seconds or whatever it was.

Did any of you guys look at the tales of graces f psn announcement on the psblog?

The last paragraph suggests some surprise tales announcements. Tales of innocence/hearts localizations? YES? NO? :(

It could also be a Tales of Xillia 2 announcement though.

So MLB 13 Vita this year seems to have improved performance-wise versus last year's version. I'm actually able to play with the pitching meter.

^^ could be a pencil.

Anyone else having probs uloading coins to near in nuns attack or is it just me?
I can usually see my uploads next to game in outandabout thingee.

We’re planning on making this a Tales of filled year, so we have a lot of surprise announcements lined up — stay tuned! Thank you again to all of our fans who have supported us over the years. We hope for your continued support in 2013.

dunno..Xillia 2 maybe?I don't think Vita will get anything (I'll buy Tales of Symphonia HD if they make one for Vita)

Where can we beg hideo baba.

I wouldnt mind xillia 2, but would prefer some vita tales too.

the test port didn't do any good in japan no?

Which is why they should try and make money here! Maybe persona fans will try out tales.

Use that xillia money to fund localizations haha

Can someone confirm if the Tetris mini works on the Vita now? I can't find it via the EU store on the Vita but wondering if I purchase it from the web store if it'll transfer across from my PS3?

PSM:
-Surge
-Aqua Kitty
-Super Crate Box
-Lemmings
-Switch Galaxy
-Life of Pixel

Minis:
-Where is my Heart?
-Velocity (Vita remake in development)
-Tetris
-Coconut Dodge
2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character
Flying Hamster
Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims
Gameocracy One: Legend of Robot
Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess!
Wizorb
Who's That Flying?!

Added a few.

Flying Hamster HD would be a better choice on Vita. Not a fan of Life of Pixel (pre-patch) and Switch Galaxy. Don't like the dynamic camera of the latter, the gameplay is fine.

Flying Hamster HD would be better, but it's not out everywhere. Life of Pixel is pretty well liked by quite a few of us post-patch, and many of us like Switch Galaxy too.

Sniper Nun best nun.
Her behind Ulga=GG
im at end of 2nd map and only can run 3 nuns so far :(

idk what the deal is with my near. Though I seem to be only one playing in my area and only 1 friend plays so no biggie.

Vanillaware usually put decent amount of stuff in their games, but the games they made are hit or miss so one never can be sure.

Tearaway is from a team within a small studio, so yeah this is kind be an issue, same thing with KZ:M which is seems like it will lack contents going with its 9 missions.

Don't play with my emotions with the Vita Tales games.

Vita failed the port test tho.

So guys, what's on your to-buy list for the Vita this year?

Warrior's Lair, if it actually comes out.

Maybe Dragon's Crown. It looks neat, but it depends on how much replay value it has.

Maybe Killzone. I have no interest in the IP, just want a halfway decent FPS for the Vita, but I have doubts that it will be a decent FPS, given Killzone's rather lackluster track record.
