Would you say it's more akin to a normal HD remaster?
Yeah, it's pretty crazy how much our memories fill in with these old games. Just look at that vegetation in the normal version, heh.

I'm actually ecstatic about this.
I never had a PS2... I borrowed one from a friend once, and rented FFX. I didn't have time to finish it before I had to return my friends PS2 and I couldn't really afford a PS2 of my own at the time. I always wanted to go back and play through it, but never did. I debated buying a PS2 just for that purpose about a year back and decided not to, mostly due to having issues playing games in older graphics now.
And now they announce this. I can't wait! Maybe it'll be disappointing, maybe it's just hyped up nostalgia, but I'm really happy I'll finally get a chance to finish this game, and in HD too.

well, they confirmed about next main final fantasy, so I think this will be a massive E3 for SE.

I don't know. "Normal" can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. Maybe if I don't feel lazy I'll rip my X disc and check stuff out, but the models are actually extremely close to what was in X-2.
The updates to the textures in the world are a much bigger deal, but that sort of stuff can vary wildly from area to area. I guess it remains to be seen.

To make this interesting we're going to make this a two part bet. The following are the win conditions to the bet and the prize for winning.
- In order for Kayos to win the bet FFX/X-2HD on both the PS3 and the Vita combined will outsell Lightning Returns. LuukyK wins if this conditions is not met/Lightning Returns sells more than X/X-2HD.
- Whichever region the game comes out for first will decide the win condition.
- Winning will grant the winner the power to choose any avatar of his choice that the loser must wear for 3 weeks.
- Any release in other regions subsequent to the first release region that supports the winner's win condition will further extend the bet by 3 additional weeks up to a total of 9 weeks including the initial 3.
Sounds good?
