I think this the first FF release console I'm going to pick up since the original X-2. The first HD remaster too come to think of it.

I dunno, but while the upgrade is noticeable it is maybe not something that is worth re-buying for.

I dont currently own it but even if I did, I would likely be re-buying it just to be able to have a portable version. The enhanced graphics just make it that much better.

The visuals alone, definitely not. But the previously JP/EU only content being added (as well as portability) definitely makes it worth buying, in my opinion.

To make this interesting we're going to make this a two part bet. The following are the win conditions to the bet and the prize for winning.

- In order for Kayos to win the bet FFX/X-2HD on both the PS3 and the Vita combined will outsell Lightning Returns. LuukyK wins if this conditions is not met.
- Whichever region the game comes out for first will decide the win condition.
- Winning will grant the winner the power to choose any avatar of his choice that the loser must wear for 3 weeks.
- Any release in other regions subsequent to the first release region that supports the winner's win condition will further extend the bet by 3 additional weeks up to a total of 9 weeks including the initial 3.

Sounds good?

why are you doing this to yourself

Out of curiosity, what is this "additional content" that people are talking about? I loved FFX back when it first came out but I'm not rebuying it just for an HD upgrade.

Hmmmm... well I wouldnt really consider it fair to count the Vita sales since LR is only available on the PS3. But ok, I dont think it will make that much of a difference. And the first region would be Japan, right? Also, what if it launches at the same time in US/Europe, will we count them together for the second part of the bet? Im in anyway.

US and EU would count as separate regions. It most likely will come out in Japan but I said first release region just in case. If X/X-2HD outsells LR in Japan and does so in both US and EU then you will wear an avatar of my choosing for 9 weeks. If it's only in Japan and in US then 6 weeks.

So, does this sound good?

Sure, easy win. Why are you doing this? :P

Well I played the EU version already. I hope FFXIIint gets a remaster soon, that is something that I would re-buy in a heartbeat.

So I’m assuming correctly in that you already own the International versions?

yes I have the pal version.

V

FFX: Dark Aeons + Penance and Expert Sphere grid.

FFX-2: A ton of stuff.

Honestly, you may want to wiki this one because there's a ton.

The most noticeable in FFX is more superbosses and associated small sidequests to get to said superbosses.

FFX-2, however, has way more. A whole extra dungeon (that's almost a new game in itself, it's so long and repetitive), a fighting arena, and, again a ton of new bosses. Oh, and the arena grants party member changes, too.

FINAL FANTASY X-2 is also getting the International treatment, high definition graphics and more content than I can list! But you’ll have to wait a little bit longer until we reveal the full list of enhancements and extra features.

If its the content from FFX-2 Last mission then this is the best news ever

Dress Spheres Festival-Goer, Psychic and Bare
Creature Create a system similar to the Monster Arena where fiends can be captured, trained and used in battle. Many of the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 non-player characters can also be trained and used in battle, including Tidus, Auron, Seymour, Lulu, Kimahri, Lucil, Nooj, Baralai, and several others. Over 150 additional party members can be gained through this system, with the majority having their own very small storylines
Last Mission a storyline-based mission set three months following the defeat of Vegnagun where Yuna, Rikku, and Paine meet up for the first time since their victory to explore the recently-discovered Yadonoki Tower ruins. The tower has 80 levels with a boss battle on every 20th level. On every 10th level, the girls have a conversation regarding current events in their lives and in Spira.

I really wonder if this is going to happen.

Have they ever hold their own E3 conference in the past? I was under the impression that they always made their appearence during Sony's.

Please be excited.

well, they confirmed about next main final fantasy, so I think this will be a massive E3 for SE.

Probably one of the biggest in my recent memories.

I have a feeling they'll take up a nice section of Sony's.

Own dedicated event for:

-LR
-FFX+X-2HD
-KH 1.5HD
-XIV:RR
-Eidos stuff

Save Versus/XV for the Sony conference and give it the spotlight it needs.

Type-0 & Bravely Default....BELIEVE!

Got nothing to worry about Kayos.
This one's in the bag.
FFXHD REPRESENT.

I would not count on that. Clearly Square will have much more add/media presence for a new game instead of a remake. It will have more marketing and the new features in the game will certainly appeal do a broader audience not necessarily linked to XIII and XIII-2. Im pretty sure there is no way X and X-2 can win, even if it adds the vita sales to the total.

X and X-2 HD will absolutely outsell LR:FFXIII. Just look at the drop in sales between XIII and XIII-2; and the latter was promised to fix everything that was wrong with the original. Now, with LR, we have a game that is completely different from both its predecessors, and most people just don't give a shit about that sub-series anymore.

I don't know. Kagari, Aeana, and duckroll are going to sabotage this so I lose. rofl.

Why would they ? I'm sure they prefer X HD over LR.

Above all else I love the precedent being set here with the International editions being released overseas.
Makes me extremely optimistic we'll see the same treatment for FFXII down the road.

Eventually...

When Square Enix gets around to it...

Maybe we’ll get Bravely Default in 2160p ten years from now.

Had to change my ava to my fave character to coincide with all this FF hype.
E3's gonna be so good.

This is so exciting. Even though I have played through both FF X and X-2 several times each there are still quite a few sidequests and bosses I have yet to do. Couple that with the international stuff I have a lot of new things to look forward to. Between this and the return of my waifu this is a damn good year to be a Final Fantasy fan.

Wow, can't believe I missed this thread.

Good news all around though. Even releasing this in the west as well. Will probably get this one, as I played these games outside of boowing them from a friend once. There seems to have been some extra content that wasn't in the US release anyway.

I think a fair share of my hype is down to this being the international versions. Not only have I never played them, but it also raises the chances of IZJS tremendously if FFXII ever gets the HD treatment.
That'd seriously be one of my gaming wishes come true, and one of the reasons I'm waving SE's banners so much despite bashing them to hell and back through the majority of this gen.

I cant fucking believe how surprisingly good this shit looks like. I am willing to pay $400 for the best game of last gen in HD.

Putting out this and KH HD are two of their better decisions in recent times.
