I wish Square would announce whether there is cross save or not!

I really want it but I'm paranoid in that it might not be there. Strangers Wrath doesn't have cross save between PS3 and Vita since it exceeds the 1mb save file limit. I'm really hoping these don't have the same problem. Because if there's no cross save, then no Vita version for me, even if I think it'd be really useful

I am curious as to why it is not cross-buy? Is there something I am missing or is it just about the $$$?

Really looking forward to playing the extra content of FFX-2, I was so bummed out when they announced that stuff as JP exclusive. Have we not got any shots of FFX-2?

I will be picking this up, for sure.

I'll be honest, if I could buy my entire PS2 library as a remasted HD PS3 game, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Can we guess what the cover art will be for the PS3 version? They did a pretty sweet one for KH HD ReMix 1.5, hope this gets a nice one.

Well I do remember the FFX saves being super tiny (around 100KB), so I don't know why they'd grow all of a sudden.

Only Sony have done Cross Buy with retail games. Other publishers wouldn't have the same incentive. I'm still hanging onto hope they'll do digital cross buy though as small as that hope is. But again, cross save is the more important feature

That's good to hear.

But all I knew is that the save file for FFXIII was under 1mb. XIII-2's was over 30mb. Yeah I can see reasons as to why it was bigger. But that much bigger? Call me paranoid again, but until they announce it, I'll still be worried cross save isn't there

Been waiting to replay the shit out of FFX. Will definitely buy day one.

Also, put me in the group for no dodge lighting 200 times trophy.

Actually put me in the group that does want this trophy.

There's bound to be one for getting the ultimate weapons, so you'd need to do this regardless. At least this way I won't need to count each individual bolt, and then get too excited/nervous when approaching 200. I'll just keep at it until the trophy pops :P

Would have been nice for more improvements, like changes to the lighting, some mapping effects. Take a leaf out of how Nintendo is doing it with Wind Waker (though maybe not to such an extreme)

Looks just like a high res version to me

Look at this and tell me all they did was up the res

This game is being released on the Vita outside of Japan separately, correct? So Sony doesn't care about them not packing games together for this?

Can't wait for this.

Sad at no Cross-buy though, it just means making a choice as to which platform I buy it on.

And Vita wins.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in a lack of Cross-Buy too, but considering it's Square Enix...

Regardless, I've been wanting to replay X and X-2 for a while. I'm certainly not in the mood to play an FF game at the moment, but perhaps when these games come out, I probably might go through them once again as an adult. See what I think of 'em now (though X-2, I know I still like since I went through it not too long ago).

I have little to say with respect to how it looks because I... sorta don't care. Wonder what version I should get, though. Vita? I could play at night/in bed/at school/at work. PS3? Ehhh...
Leaning towards Vita right now, tbh. Depends on the price.

In regards to the whole PS3 or Vita thing, I'm getting PS3 if there's no cross save since I prefer consoles over handhelds. But if you were gonna get the Vita version, you'd probably have to map L2/R2 to either front or rear touch. On second thought, what did those buttons even do on the original?

Yup, the price is the deciding factor. I'm also thinking of going for the Vita version because there is something oddly alluring about playing these games on a portable. I imagine it would look very nice too on that 5 inch screen too.

Switching characters during battle etc. That should be easy to replace on the Vita.

L2/R2 scrolled the CTB gauge backwards and forwards in FFX. L2/R2 scrolled through menus like Pg Up/Pg Dn in both FFX and FFX-2.

Edit: L1 switched characters in FFX. Switched Dressspheres in FFX-2. R1 was for Trigger Happy in X-2.

Yeah, if they're $40 each or $30 each, I might just go for the PS3 version instead. Cheaper.

Then I assume for FFX-2 it was switching dress spheres? Then that's fine.

Were D-pad and Analog both for movement? If they were, I'd probably just put R2/L2 on the D-Pad like I do for PS1/PSP games if possible

Clearly stuff is being redone with meticulous detail. Look at Lulu's clothes for example. There are completely new design details on it.
They redid the character models and a bunch of textures... clearly more effort than your average HD remaster.
The graphical changes are significant, particularly to the character models. This is certainly somewhere between a remaster and a remake, I would just consider it closer to the former than the latter. For all we know, some (definitely not all) of the improvements could have been lifted from X-2.

I hope they take cues from the Metal Gear HD collection, which completely redid the menus and fonts so they'd be crisp and clean.

They did for KH HD.

Er... X-2 was a graphical downgrade...

Yes, I hope they make good use of the D-pad. Two of its buttons can serve as replacement for L2/R2, and two more can serve to add new controls. I wouldn't know what though. Make your character dance ?

Oh ! You know what would be great ? If they let us change Tidus for another character while running in the environment. That would be sweet !

You can see a bit (two seconds) of footage here.

How can I watch the video ? It's asking me to download an app from iTunes. Do I have to be on an iPhone ?
