Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

So I picked up P3P and got a retail copy of P4G a couple days ago. After finishing up MGS3, should I go P3P->P4G or P4G->P3P?

P3P takes some of the enhancements P4 had and puts them in that system. So really, either way but G adds even more stuff and fixes some things in the fusion system IIRC.

So I'd say P3(FES)->P4G. But I'm biased toward P3 in the P3-P4 era games. But P2:IS/EP rules all in the Persona series.

So. Many. Games.

Oh and 1 more month to SS!!! God I do hope they release a demo, I was pretty sure they mentioned something about releasing one before the release on PS US Blog but I might have been dreaming at the time...
I don't think NA PS Blog mentioned anything about a Soul Sacrifice demo (yet), but EU PS Blog confirmed that they were getting it.

Play P3P before P4G.

Finally got to the top (er-bottom) of the Core of the Imperial Palace. Now I can just dodge enemies while dodging/killing ghost fish and get through the gauntlet of hell for the final boss to beat Hard Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. >_<

Nice.
Have fun against his first form.
Hate that with a burning passion. >_<

I only managed to beat it on Master Ninja by spamming Ninpo and the True Dragon Gleam.

I don't have anything new. I'm just doing a victory lap.

Closer to e3 I'll hopefully know more about the fall.

Btw... Escape vektor for $4.50 tomorrow I assume is worth it? Or is it just total crap?

Wait so I should finish P3P before going onto P4? :l I gave up on P3P last summer because Tartarus was really really boring. Outside of the dungeon however, it was great.

I'll have to upload a photo later but I'm playing on "Master Ninja" Hard right now. :lol Died like two or three times due to not having the health to survive the fish on the climb up to the fourth floor. Imagine my rage at failing the flails. :(

I'm probably one of the few who loves going through tartarsacue, maybe it was because of

I never could wrap my head around the Demon Congress (or Student Clubs as it is in D3) or the Magichange system.

You are talking about the system for passing bills right (approving new characters, stats boosts and what not) just making sure before I type out stuff.

as for the magichange system I didn't use it much, (in general I don't use monsters much) so I had to look up some things, especially since it changed in 4, and thus the vita 3's version might be closer to 4, but in general it works like this.

you have a monster and a human stand next to each other. I believe that the two that you are trying to magichange with need to be in the same club. When those conditions are met the monster will turn into a weapon, the weapon will be based on the type of monster it is and be equipped on the human. The stats for the weapon will be 30% of the monsters stats, meaning if the monster is weak it can actually make the human weaker to do this. The human will get the monsters main Evility (passive skill) and some unique skills. If the human kills something while using the monster as a weapon both will get exp and mana for it.

If the human dies while using the weapon the monster is considered dead as well. After 2 turns the monster is unequipped and the human gets their old weapon back, at which point the monster is considered defeated but I believe it will just be off limits to summon again and not dead not 100% on that though, they might die from this exchange.

the main benefit to the magichange is that with a powerful monster you can quickly level up a weak human, or vice versa. The extra skills are nice, but the big thing is just making sure that the change serves a purpose as a strong increase in power or to level up two things at once.

So, for 2013:

Killzone Mercenary
Hotline Miami
Tearaway
Limbo
Spelunky
Velocity Ultra
Jak & Daxter HD (?)
Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD
Divekick
Guacamelle

... I'm a happy camper.

Correct.

And to go back to Sigma Plus: Just nailed the Ice Cave boss to the floor with the Dark Dragon Blade in the hell rush. Hilarious.

guacamelle (likely ps3 version)
spelunky (likely ps3 version)
Terraria if it happens on the vita.
and above all else.... the binding of isaac, (psv, ps3 if the remake isn't on pc the same date as long as the co op sounds ok... if it is one person controls movement and the other controls the tears then screw that I can already do that on PC :P)

passing the bills isn't to bad. monsters prefer certain items and bribing them increases the chance they vote for you. drunks will vote randomly, and sleeping votes don't count. There is sometimes a legendary senator that shows up that will have a heavy influence on the outcome that usually wants a very specific item, they are very good to bribe. In general the higher level the monster is the more pull it has for it's vote, thus it's a good idea to get high level monsters on your side.

In general I ignored the bribing system, just over powered my characters, and brute forced my stuff into practice lol getting high level monsters on your side is still good as you don't have to kill them. The big plus is that monsters that you are voting with aren't equipped with items... so a level 100 with strong gear can actually kill a level 500 voter with out to much trouble.

I'd advise going straight to P4G then to avoid randomly-generated dungeon burnout (since you'll be seeing the same random mechanic in P4G, except with more interesting visual variety and a consistent theme for each dungeon/area).

It's worthwhile to finish P3P but it doesn't matter whether you do it before or after P4G.

Yeah I was a bit hesitant to get Nun Attack but I played it at PAX and really enjoyed it. Bought it on the Vita and have been moving through it. Really dig it a lot!

i see no Picotto Knights :P though that one is free to play lol. though while that one is confirmed for release, it might change with the recent buy out announcement of gungho.

Guys, buy Stranger's Wrath! It is such a fantastic game and is well worth the asking price. It is a rather long game and it is a very well done port. Do want to warn you though the game is challenging even on normal, but man is this game great. Probably in my top 5 Vita games it is that good. If you are looking for a FPS for the Vita look no further, and if you aren't big on FPS no worries most of the game can be played from third person.

Really looking forward to Just Add Water's other games coming to the Vita. BTW you can add those to that release list. Munch's Odyssey and New and Tasty.

I'll have to upload a photo later but I'm playing on "Master Ninja" Hard right now. :lol Died like two or three times due to not having the health to survive the fish on the climb up to the fourth floor. Imagine my rage at failing the flails. :(

Ouuuuuch.

Yup, love the Dark Dragon Blade.
Just wish there was a NG+ or Chapter Challenge that I could use to try it against every boss.

NGS2+ is much more replayable in that regard.

Just a heads up that the Capcom PSP and Persona PSP sales are ending today, better grab them soon in case Grace Chen updates early.

Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins..

I haven't missed anything right...?
P1 and P2 can wait...
MHFU too..
the Capcom Collections... will wait till they can work natively on the Vita
