Papo & Yo coming to Steam (4/18)

nice to have confirmation

I was always interested in the initial project when it first got announced, apparently the final game doesnt really live up to the pitch but im still looking forward to this

I thought this title in particular was Sony "first party". Innerestin', I was thinking the wrong thing the entire time.

Woah, that's surprising. Not often we see a PSN exclusive jump ship.

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Closure jumped ship last year, and we're soon to see Dyad on Steam, as well. Unless it's a Sony-owned IP, it's reasonable to expect that those kinds of games will be timed exclusives.

The demo on PSN was neat but i've stopped buying PSN games cause none of them will carry over to their next system.

Glad it's coming to Steam.

I dunno, I never played the game but I was just really turned off by how personal it sounded to the dev. Sad as it is, I don't really want to play a game revolving around one's experience with an abusive parent.

It's a really messy game; I actually feel it's a bad game from top to bottom, but I find it difficult to hold it against the devs since it was pretty clear that this was an incredibly personal project about a really messy relationship.

Is it actually possible to pick this up through the game if you hadn't followed the development. I take it you don't literally see someone beating their child in this. Otherwise it's pretty low on the spectrum of fucked up real life experiences that games have been based off of.

Loved this game. I agree with Tom Bissell in that it's not a good game mechanically speaking but it's a moving and often powerful experience.

They definitely go into detail about the physical abuse that the creator and his family went through in the game, but saying more would be a spoiler, even if it is one of the biggest bones I have to pick with the game.

I'm sure it works for some people, but I found the story to be numbingly blunt and unsubtle. The last third of the game is akin to someone taking a live jackhammer with THE MEANING painted on the side of it and applying it to your forehead.

Never played the game, but from previews and watching many interviews I've reached the same conclusion.
