Metal Gear Solid V announced (PS360, open world)

I wouldn't go that far, most of what we saw looked like cutscenes mixed with that almost on rails demo of the hospital scene that was shown at the VGAs. I still want to see how this open world stealth is supposed to work. Now there's something that could be fresh and unique seeing as there's no true open world stealth titles.

Yeah obviously I was mostly talking about themes tackled and stuff like horseback riding looked very interesting. Your hand being a prosthetic, time lapse from you falling into coma all that stuff that we could explore in videogames, yet nobody does...

Solid Snake should be 18 years old at the end of big boss coma..
Since David Hayter is not acting the Big Boss voice , I hope that Solid Snake will have a role in the game !

Trailer looked great and the song choices were unique but also cool.

Game looks great, especially for current gen, but I don't think they are impossible. Nothing being done in this game that I haven't already seen done in other games before.

I think it's odd that Hayter is gone, but I don't think it's the end of the world. I think he did great in MGS1 and ok in the following titles, but eh I'll enjoy the game regardless.

Wait, is that the official logo? I definitely remember someone predicting a similar thing back in December.

People called this during the Phantom Pain trailer. Whoever they were, they deserve a fucking tag.

So yeah whoever did that photoshop of "Metal Gear Solid V" hiding in the Phantom Pain title is a golden god.

That was me :D

Watching the gameplay demo now. Boss's new voice seems fine so far. I love Hayter's voice, but they needed to transition to an older voice eventually. It'd be cool if he had a cameo or something though.

No David Hayter might be weird in the beginning, but in all honesty Kiefer Sutherland is a very good replacement. Hayter started sounding too forced in his later Snake work.

I wished they would just make it a PS4/360 launch title though. With next-gen blowing up all over the place this might be underwhelming compared to the new stuff. Especially in an open-world game.

Will buy, will play and will love it regardless.

When Kojima listens to the Pixies all day while going on marathon of Tarantino films we get a trailer like that.

Absolutely loved every second of it.

But, nanomachines......

Looks great. I wonder how the whole dream state thing is handled along with it being an open world game. Are we playing out a lot of this game inside the mind of Big Boss? If so then oh lord Kojima can do whatever he wants and doesn't have to explain himself.....gunna be good.
That's what i'm thinking as well. A good chunk of the game could take place inside Big Boss' head, leaving endless possibilities of situations and gameplay during that portion.

We all knew the voice change was coming as Big Boss got older. Really don't think this is a great fit though.

You must be feeling like a god now haha. Spot on!

Whoever said "V is awake" was dead on too.

Having a very hard believing this is coming to current generation consoles. It looks above and beyond what the consoles are capable of, especially the 360. I can perhaps believe this is coming to PS3, but 360? hard time believing it.

Hell of a trailer. I don't want my expectations tempered by MGS4 and Peace Walker; this immediately looks like the real sequel to Snake Eater. No closing plot threads or continuity or plausibility, Kojima. I don't want to hear a one hour long technical explanation for why someone is a fucking vampire. Just be creative and evocative.

exactly my thoughts. i've had a ps3 for years without a desire to pick up mgs4 or pw, but boy does this look good.

I don't think I can deal without Hayter. That's the voice I identify as Snake. Maybe he wasn't the best VA, but you have to take into consideration the material he was working with. It is way too late now to get me to associate a different voice with Snake.

Very awesome trailer.

But they still haven't shown that second guy's face. I think before the coma, we see through his eyes while after the coma he's guiding Big Boss through the hospital.
Is he the second phantom that was born from Fox?

can anyone tell me when this takes place? Also, from the information that we know what the hell is happening in that trailer? It looks great, but as someone who doesnt follow MGS I have no idea whats happening

That was a great trailer. Obviously can't say much for the game itself since actual gameplay scarcely featured, but consider my interest piqued. Great choice of music too.

just started watching the trailer, lulz at it starting with a Garbage song ("Not Your Kind of People")

Sutherland is not voicing Snake.

Did some of you not watch the trailer ? It was obvious who was talking.

It looks more like he'll have hallucinations during his real world exploits. Like when he gets rescued by the guy on the horse, and they jump through the flames, he'll probably see that flaming horse in the sky as its happening. But who knows. All I know is I'M EXCITED AS F**K

What a pleasant surprise to wake up to. I'm loving the trailer especially the song choice. I gotta watch the gameplay vids now. If they made it a launch PS4 title I'd so be there.
