Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Guys really big problem. Everytime I hit a game to play it says "An error has ocurred" then it shows an (!) and under it it says;

Could not start the application.

=(((

It does it for every game

It's probably your memory card.
I had the same issue a couple weeks back. Apparently, my 16GB memory card was defective and every downloaded PSV titles on it would crash. And the save states for my physical would go corrupt.

Are you interested in this game on PS Vita?

http://www.ravenmark-saga.com/

Developer is looking for opinions about it on Reddit right now...

http://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/1b6vwx/i_wonder_if_guys_are_interested_on_our_tabletop/

He says: "I've been working on it and right now we're aiming for the asynchronous-multiplayer features. I wonder if you guys are interested on this kind of game and willing to play it on your Vita. Because I want this game to be available on many devices as possible, and if people wants it, there's a chance we will port this game to Playstation devices".

these guys are from Singapore too <3
been bugging them on twitter, tweeting them and @yosp together (hope @yosp did visit them at GDC)

it's an awesome Tactical/Strategy RPG, you guys would love it on the Vita :D

Burn the Rope, Flying Hamster HD, Invizimals: Hidden Challenges TCG, and a few other are EU exclusive PSN games. Just from the top of my head there.

Flying Hamster HD is coming to the US in May.

escapeVektor is better once you get to world 2... I was not feeling it until I got the boost.

I rebuilt the database, formatted the memory card and just restored my vita. Waiting for the dumb intro to finish.

Im about ready to throw this shit away. Everything works but it says that my saves cant be downloaded from the cloud

Edit- Plants vs Z seems to work. Ill try the others and see. Its going to be a long night...

Worst thing that happened is I lost all my save files for PSP games. Which sucks. I think I have some of them backed up on my ps3 back home. Hopefully.

So i finally got around to super stardust delta... Gotta say im a bit disappointed in it. I geuss i was expcting more. Between variety of weapons, enemies, and worlds. I could barely notice a difference between worlds aside from a new enemy or two... It was fun while it lasted.. Oh well.

Really it just made me want a new geometry wars even more

A new Geometry Wars would be so amazing.

The collapse of Bizarre Creations is probably this generation's most tragic development. We'll probably never get another Geometry Wars ever again.

stephen cakebread hasn't made much of a splash since bizzare shut down. i was kinda expecting someone to give him money to make a dark souls-esque fake sequel to geometry wars.

Grabbed EDF while it's still on sale (...for $30) and really enjoying it. The missions are just right for quick bursts and quite frantic. Looks like it'll earn a permanent space on my memory card (and it's small too--less than 700MB iirc.)

Haven't tried online yet but I will after getting through a couple more missions. If anyone wants to play though my PSN is: omg_mjd

EDF! EDF!

monday probably

Though Im not sure if its the entire month since I think they said last month's was a "test"

I hope they keep the new format, much less suspense but its nice to know what to expect so we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with purchases.

I am still bitter about buying MegaMan a day before it was anounced for PS plus =[

Agreed. The monthly format they did for March was much better.

I haven't been in this thread for quite awhile!

Anyway, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to spend that free $10 they gave out a few weeks back. I have it down to three games:

Tactics Ogre - I'm very close to finishing this (I used to have the UMD), so I think it'd be nice to finally check it off my list. I just beat Fire Emblem on 3DS, and it only made me in the mood for another SRPG (I'm partial to TO).

Ys: Oath in Felghana - I'm set on this over Ys 7 as my first Ys game, so don't bother trying to convince me otherwise. I'm very curious about this series, and since I don't time to play games like I used to, it'd be nice to play something like this.

TiTS: Another UMD I used to have, but I'm only a few hours in. I really liked what I played, though.

EDF! EDF!

I grabbed it, too; I'll send you a Friend Request (mine is AwRy108). Game seems decent, although I could see it becoming lame really quickly if not played in spurts. Seems like a good fit for the Vita, too bad the publisher's greedy price point caused it to be dead on arrival (IMHO, even the sale price of $30 is pushing it).

Tried to play online last night, only one person was playing co-op and nobody was playing versus.

mal posted about RAVENMARK earlier but I thought it needs to be on this page as well.
The game is by WitchingHour Studios Singapore. I know a member from the team.
Their first-game, RAVENMARK is really sweet on the iOS. I just hope they could bring it to the Vita as well!

so if you would like another fantastic game on the Vita (a tactical/strategy RPG),
let them know on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/1b6vwx/i_wonder_if_guys_are_interested_on_our_tabletop

and a gameplay video too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vx-3Dz3SQA

or on their Twitter/Facebook

more info on their own site: http://www.witching-hour.net/

these guys attended PAX and GDC..
been tweeting @yosp.. hopefully he paid these guys a visit :X

I agree, EDF isn't meant to be marathoned (unless we're talking multiplayer). Added you on PSN. Let's kill some bugs. (Or each other...but I hear co-op is more fun.)

I'm not surprised--it's a great portable game and $40 is really the "normal" price for new handheld releases, right? $36 is the discounted online price for first-party titles and everything below that is just publishers/devs undercutting the market to get more sales, or pricing titles according to their development budget (like for smaller indie games).

NOVA is still selling well. With enough luck it'll catch the attention of Gameloft.

I'm actually amazed at how well the right stick works for games where you used the face buttons to aim, like NOVA.

Makes me wonder why Sony never released a PSP with a second stick that simply did that, emulate button presses.

Okay so I need roughly 15 more space bucks to spend on psn to get 10 space bucks back and I've been thinking of getting super stardust delta(theres a bundle on there for the amount I need) but I don't wanna drop the binary dollar bits down if there's a chance that the game will be the freebie for next month. Should I go ahead and do it anyway? What are the odds right?

Whew! Just played my first EDF co-op session with randoms and it was a blast. (BTW if I switch out while in lobby to send someone a friend request, does that kill the lobby if I'm hosting it?) This not a high-tech, pretty game by any stretch but if nicer graphics means less aliens swarming around the screen, then I think the devs made a nice compromise here.

So I'm debating dropping 33.95 on EDF Portable and all the DLC.
If I did this, I would be at $16.45 short of the next $10 back... :\

The EDF DLC isn't on sale, right? Why not just get the game first and you'll have $20 left to spend. More flexible that way. (I'd suggest Sonic Racing. I might get that before the sale ends. Been having fun with the PC version.)

Then I'd need be back to needing to spend $20.41.
Usually if I buy a game and the DLC is cheap or reasonably priced, I buy it before I play (see: Gravity Rush).

EDF DLC?
What could they possibly be selling for that?

Don't tell me it's those underpowered weapons they originally included as a preorder/launch purchase bonus. >_>

Dunno, 4 items at $0.99 each...
Let's see...

Electro Paralyzer
Reverse Drone
Heat Blaster
Limit Booster

What was the other game on sale besides VT4 and Sonic All-Star Racing?
