there is an injustice stick? Weird, on some PAX stream they were playing with SF4 sticks. Seems like a missed cross-promotion opportunity for NRS and whoever is manufacturing the stick.

It's being made by PDP. Seems nice enough I guess. I probably won't get one though.
It'd be nice if they actually put out part details. The fact that they won't is troubling, to say the least.

I wouldn't mind if it was a HAPP stick. There aren't enough of them. It doesn't look like it though.

Currently Amazon is selling the MadCatz MLG Pro stick for $99. I have one, it's solid (though I heavily modded mine to get rid of the MLG branding). All Sanwa parts.
It has some oddities if you decide to mod it (namely the ground strip is flipped compared to a normal TE, which nearly made me pull my hair out installing button LEDs).

Sighh... Had to sink some serious coin into getting a PS3 stick for the SEGA Cup.
Man, I haven't bought a new MadCatz stick since December of 2010! Not gonna lie, I am very excited to bring this puppy to my local fight night this week.
Post SEGA Cup plan:
Remove the metal panel, swap it with the panel in the 360 stick (since I want the curved layout), sell the PS3 stick at a loss - I'm thinking I can probably get $70 for a barely used PS3 stick with no artwork.

Just put in a order from both Akihabarashop.jp and Art's hobbies. Got a fun idea for a stick that I'm going to work on over the summer. Makes me kinda nervous sending off all that money to small shops over the internet, luckily they both have a reputation for being solid sites as long as you don't mind a bit of a wait.
I'm going to have to wait to do most of the work until I take the family home to the Grandparents house over the summer though, just not enough space and tools for real woodworking in my condo currently. Hopefully I'll have something cool to show the thread in by July or so.

The white buttons were BUGGING me a lot. so, I put Black ones.

I never even held/seen a FS PRO before, it looks bigger than what pictures make it to be haha.

its just preference. from where i was from, we only had japanese cabinets, tons of old astros and neo candy cabs and the like. especially the neo cabs, had seimitsu buttons and joysticks half of the time. So I have fondness for those.
plus simple reasons, I play shmups too, its just comfortable using those, because of the resistance, you can 'rest' our fingers on top of em without activating the buttons. for multibutton shmups like dodonpachi or RSG.
dont get me wrong, i still like sanwa buttons, especially for 3D fighters like Tekken or VF. same goes for JLF.
I've heard of people using Seimitsu sticks for shmups and VF. I should give it a try since i have one in my TvC stick.
Meanwhile, SEGA Cup stick get.

Yeah, this is why I like 'em as well, I always keep my fingers resting on the buttons. To me it's also nice to have just a little more of a tactile "press" feeling as opposed to the super, super light feel of Sanwas. Just a preference though.

This is why I prefer Semitsu everything. It's nice to have Sanwa be sensitive, but to me they're a bit too sensitive...

I want the Sanrio stick so badly but ugh... I have my Marvel Phase One bd set to pay for on Tuesday as well... So hard to binge-buy this.
I always rest my fingers on the buttons and don't get accidental button presses from Sanwa.

I recently acquired a PS3 fightstick from Craigslist, and I had a couple questions for Fighting GAF. I believe it is a Hori Wireless Fight Stick 3. Pic of the stick in question:
2) How can I get this fightstick to work on my PC? It has a USB dongle and I'd like to use it for MAME but it won't seem to turn on with batteries inserted. Might have to try later with fresh batteries.
3) Is it a decent stick? This is my first stick and I assume it's of decent quality.

The only thing i dont like about semitsu buttons is that double tapping is a little bit harder. I wish i could try a semitsu stick out just to see what its like.
Also, I want a new stick. I don't feel like buying a VIA usb card for my PC just to use my Round 1 TE
You could wholesale replace the PCB in it with a PS360+ to get compatibility with PC/360/PS3 from what I hear.
Don't bother. Horrible stick and no dual-mod options are designed for the wireless sticks.

Well at least it's PC compatible right? It's my first stick and I got it for free so it'd be a good practice stick for SFIV at least until I decide if I'm serious enough for a true fightstick.
EDIT: yep, it's PC compatible. Good enough of a stick for me so far.

I'm so tempted to order this Sanrio stick right now. Wanted one since it was released, and this sale is too good to pass up. Tried to buy one at PAX East but there was some confusion and, after five hours of waiting for them to bring more in, they accidentally brought me one of the new PRO FightSticks instead.
I don't really need another stick, but I think I'm going to pull the trigger. I've been checking the MadCatz store every day to see if the sale is still going on. I know it's probably going to end soon and I will regret not having purchased it. If I regret buying it, I can always sell it for what I paid.

I made this when Arena first came out, I used help I got while lurking in this thread so I thought I'd post the finished thing here. It's the first time I've done anything like this and it was very fun.
The stick is one of those WWE brawlsticks and I put in sanwa buttons and a sanwa stick. The picture I designed was the first image editing I've ever done, and I'm thankful for all the resources available online to make the entire thing possible.
As you can tell, I really like Yukiko.
Any comments/suggestions?

When's the current TTT2 and Sanrio Madcatz sale good through? I'm tempted to buy a gal a stick and a copy of VF5FS so I'd have someone to play with but I want to contemplate it some more.

Man, that's a bummer... A few weeks ago I bought a PS360+ PCB from FocusAttack.com with hopes of modding my 360 TE to work on PS3 as well. Since me and my father don't really have a lot in common in terms of interests, I decided that it'd be a good father-son project for us. He's been a mechanical and electronic engineer for longer than I've been alive, and generally speaking, I'm a complete moron when it comes to anything of that nature. Not to mention he has all the tools and meters and so on.
We worked on it yesterday and I thought we had gotten it all right. Sadly, I wasn't able to test it 'til earlier this evening. Much to my chagrin, I plugged it into my 360 and nothing is working; no joystick directions and no buttons. According to the basic install video I found in the other arcade stick thread, I suspect we didn't get the USB cable connected properly. Now I guess I'll either have to wait 'til I can get back up to my parents' house for a visit or buy the tools I need and attempt the repair myself.
As an aside, has anyone noticed that the info in the install video about which wires go where for the button harness contradict the "Hardware and Wiring Overview FAQ" linked off the product detail page?
We resorted to following the PDF after being tripped up by a weird jump in the video where he starts with two of the five wires, and then in the next cut, he's done the other three with no walkthrough whatsoever.

This thread makes me envious. I need to find out how to do something like this. For Skullgirls.

I have a problem. I used to play fighting games with a cheap Mayflash PC/PS2 arcade stick. Problem is some years ago Microsoft didn't allow to create a converter or simply to use any USB device (as PS3 already does). So there are lots of 360 fighting games I just can't play. Is there any solution?

The Mayflash is somewhat difficult to replace the parts - nothing is arcade standard so you have to fashion your own mounting system for the lever and widen the button holes with a dremel (and you'll still have to use screw-ins in all likelihood). Worse, the stock buttons use rubber membranes that push onto a dedicated PCB, so not much of the existing wiring can be used - IIRC it all leads to a pin header but you'd have to run new wires to crimp into the header.
You're honestly better off getting something like a 360 Brawlstick, even the stock parts in the Brawlstick are miles ahead of what you get with the Mayflash.
