No Square. Don't consider making saves cross compatible. Make them cross compatible. You do want me to buy both the PS3 and Vita versions right?

Hmmmm...

今泉: 追加のボイスはありませんが、テキストベースでのセリフの追加や変更はありますよ。

"There are no new voices, but there are changes and additions to the original text." (he's referring to how the International content is different from the originals)

So they're not recording new voices I guess.

---

"In the original, the game portion had 2.0ch audio, while the movies were partially in 5.1ch. This time everything will be in 2.0ch. The sound team is doing their best to ensure the sound quality in the movies are as high as possible."

"At that time, we used the internal sound chip for music, this time all the sound data will be streamed so I think the ambiance will be increased on all fronts."

Sounds like they're admitting the 5.1 mix in FFX was dogshit! Lol.

---

"-- Sup dawg, this is Famitsu representing NeoGAF-FFX-Age, the people want to know if "The Eternal Calm" will be included as a bonus video, yo!"

"The Calm Sphere Video can be seen at the start of FFX-2. The scenes which lead to Yuna starting a new journey are unraveled within FFX-2 itself."

?????? I haven't replayed FFX-2 in ages but that doesn't sound right?

That's kinda odd considering they were saying that talks of the remakes started with talking with the cast during Dissidia.

Nah, that's not what the interview says at all. Hideki Imaizumi says that when recording the voice sessions for FF Type-0, he and Nomura worked with some of the FFX cast again for the first time in 10 years. That got them talking again about FFX and they had good memories about it. That inspired Nomura to go around negotiating with various people in the company over the next few days, and finally they got the greenlight to do it. But at that time they were still tied up with FFXIII, so actual development couldn't start immediately.

It was just between Nomura and Imaizumi initially. Working with the voice cast on Type-0 was just the trigger to get the two of them talking. The actual voice cast has no part in this project.

So I guess they wont have dual voice in the game? what about last mission? that has Japanese.

If they're not willing to bring back the English cast for LM, then we're not getting it.

Which is fine. Put me in the camp that doesn't care either way.

Sounds to me like there's an optional Sphere (in Besaid perhaps?) that plays the Eternal Calm video.

FFX-2 does let you see a redone version of the sphere video with Shuyin imprisoned in a cage (correctly using Shuyin's model this time instead of Tidus's). That doesn't mean they'll include Eternal Calm, though.

I'm pretty sure that's what they mean.

And I'm totally okay with not getting Eternal Calm (because it doesn't really reflect what FFX-2 would eventually turn into and has the wrong character model behind bars) or Last Mission (because it's not very good or fun). Just tack New Game+ on to FFX, please, and I'll keep playing both games in this collection pretty much forever. kthx.

I hope we'll get some screenshots of X-2 this week.

So Nomura's efforts were largely responsible for this?

Screens are looking damn good. I was considering resting on my PCSX2 laurels, but it's starting to look more and more likely that I'll buy this. If I happen to have a Vita at the time, I may end up buying it a lot ><

Just tack New Game+ on to FFX

FFX doesn't need NG+. There are no alternate endings or branching story paths, and virtually nothing is missable. Also, being able to kill Geosgaeno early on would cause some problems.

All FFX needs is the ability to save after the credits roll, so that you can go to the Luca theater and buy spheres of all the CG movies past the point of no return. If they add any NG+ish feature to the game, it'll be that.

New Game+ is for fun, not for alternate endings. See: Resident Evil 4.

Geosgaeno is a fight where a cutscene is triggered after you deal a certain amount of damage. It wouldn't be breakable.

:)

It'd be nice mainly for the sake of not having to re obtain Celestial Weapons, honestly.

And I'd want a version like FFX-2 anyway, in which your levels would get reset but you'd keep any Sphere Grid customizations and equipment. Wouldn't be one-hit killing Geosgaeno in that situation; you don't even get to start leveling up until a few hours into the game.

I like that idea, actually. Keeping everything except for characters' sphere grid paths sounds like it wouldn't hurt much. Keeping the grid's layout is a good idea too.

While we're on the NG+ topic, I wonder if they're going to let more things carry over in X-2's. Ten years later, I'm still a bit annoyed that your Sphere Break coins don't carry over (as if I needed another reason to hate that minigame). Ditto for things like the Bikanel excavation wages and everything related to the Chocobo ranch - it makes me not want to do those things in the first/second playthrough, knowing that I'll just have to slowly work my way up again.

I honestly don't think they are changing anything in the actual games, so it would be pointless to expect such changes. They already confirmed in the interview that they won't be making any content or balance changes to the actual games, just graphical upgrades.

Not sure if this is bad news or anything:

FFX/FFX-II HD only digital on PSVita says Koch Media:

At least in Spain but, maybe worldwide only digital launch?. Very sad news for me.

I’ve already come to the acceptance we (NA) will not get Last Mission, and I am completely ok with that.

But we will receive full English VA for both International versions of FF X and X-2, right? As far as I know, both Int. games (besides Last Mission portion) had full English voices recorded, correct?

Yep, everything is already voiced (which added to the burn of them not being released before). I'm sure that's part of the reason LM probably won't be included.

Ok, thank you. That's good to hear.

It would have been nice to at least try out LM, but I hear it’s pretty bad so not too upset in not seeing it.

I don't really care about the last mission I just wanted the extra dress-spheres. :(

The extra dress spheres are in. Last Mission is a completely different mode from FFX-2. Nothing from Last Mission carries to FFX-2 International.

Digital only release? Um, surely this is not true. Its more than one game, and its SE. I mean, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix is getting a disc release. This doesn't make sense.

I guess it makes sense, since the games will be sold separately, and sony requires them to be bundled.

And they can't put both carts in 1 box? Would be a bit of disappointment if it's digital only. I assume at least Japan would get a physical release, since they like physical releases.

The Koch Media tweet is legit, they distribute most part of Eidos and Square-Enix games in Spain.

But they deleted the screenshot tweet and other that says something like "all that we know is that they will be released in digital format". I've got screenshots of both.

I shudder at the thought of trying to get the ultimate weapons again, stupid chocobo race, stupid butterfly minigame and dodge 200 lightning bolts.

Oh and if you never played the international, make sure you dont miss items in areas that have dark aeons in them, bloody Sun Crest.

Carts aren't like discs where you can just print them for cents. It probably costs more than they think is worth it for a re-release to do it that way.

While it's a re-release, it's still quite high profile one. (in my eyes) I would totally understand a digital only (and no marketting... I'm looking at you Atelier Totori+) for a less profilic niche release. Certainly not the end of the world by any means, just would feel a little strange but certainly safer for SE.

I really hope it's not digital only for Vita. I'm already struggling to keep games in my 16GB memory card because of PS+, and I need my digital Persona 4 Golden present at all times.
