The Koch Media tweet is legit, they distribute most part of Eidos and Square-Enix games in Spain.

But they deleted the screenshot tweet and other that says something like "all that we know is that they will be released in digital format". I've got screenshots of both.

We all know that Koch, given digital releases of Vita titles are mandated.

Seems weird they would cite cart size for not bundling the games on Vita together if they're not putting them on carts at all.

In theory, X/X-2 would come together digitally on Vita as well if there's no physical release at all.

I honestly don't think they are changing anything in the actual games, so it would be pointless to expect such changes. They already confirmed in the interview that they won't be making any content or balance changes to the actual games, just graphical upgrades.
Don't get me down, Ducky T_T

I was expecting this game to have a 5.1 Mix after KH HD 1.5 did, kinda bummed out to not be able to experience this in surround sound.

Although the way they handled the 5.1 scenes in PS2 X was pretty stupid.

It'd take a lot more work to make a good 5.1 mix with FFX's fixed camera angles, I think.

Cat Nip doesn't even break the game. You get so incredibly late that it's really only there for the last boss (and if you have Cat Nip, then the final boss is already embarrassing) and the final few optional bosses. NG+ I guess would be broken... But starting with every dressphere is more than enough already.

Except in the Japanese version, where you can get Cat Nip in Chapter 2. The perception of it being a game-breaking item is probably a whole lot stronger over there.

It's not weird. Japan != the rest of the world. The games will definitely have a physical release in Japan on the Vita. They might not outside of Japan. It's not hard to understand.

Next you're going to tell me 8 is better than 9 or something.

Love VIII and think IX is probably the single worst game in the franchise as far a gameplay goes since the NES.

There is every reason under the sun to do X-2 before XII, and also lets try to remember that for as much as some XII fans want to believe it is the second comming, it also was met with resistance by a good amount of fans so it by no means is a sure bet to do better then X-2 even if X-2 didn't have so many other advantages.

How can 8 be better as a game than 9 when 8 had the draw system?

You're just letting Triple Triad cloud your vision. How's that not a phone game?

The Draw system is an extremely interesting system which changes the way magic and battles work in an innovative way. The system wasn't as balanced and polished as it could have been, but it's already far more interesting than anything in FFIX. There's really nothing great or particularly noteworthy about the gameplay in FFIX at all. It's a slow game, the accessory/skill system is a boring and grindy form of progression, and the battle dynamics are really not that fun at all.

Draw is a great example of why VIII Is better then IX. Every single thing wrong with VIII gameplay wise is totally up to the player. Hate Draw? Don't do it. Hate how easily you can break the Junction System? Creates limits like in VII and X.

IX's god awful augment system? Nope stuck with it. The slowest and worst battle system in the series? Fucking stuck with that garbage.

Prefering IX's story to VIII's is one thing (I actually disagree and think IX's story aside from Kuja and Vivi is garbage), but gameplay VIII has far more freedom and flexiblity then IX's even dreams of.

IX & X are my personal favorite Final Fantasies. XII is probably in close second. The worst for me is probably VIII and XIII. Didn't much care for them.

Holy shit, I didn't think this opinion existed. I can't think of a single thing FF8 does better than FF9, and I'm not even a huge fan of FF9. What makes you say that?

- Better gameplay
- More interesting battle mechanics
- Excellent worldview/setting, unique and interesting
- Great soundtrack
- Eyes on Me
- Ragnarok
- Main character isn't a fucking monkey

I liked exploiting the mechanics: carding most every enemy, abusing Card Refine, getting high level magic early, abusing Seifer/Edea to level up your GFs, then finally actually gaining EXP when you get the various stat up skills from GFs.

Of course you did.

Many people love VIII and it has many fans, several who always vote for it as the best (not as many as VI, VII, IX, and X granted), so acting like people don't have this opinion is nonsense.

FFVIII also has the most interesting Limit Breaks. Each character's breaks were totally unique, and it reminded me a lot of the combat design for characters in FFVI. FFIX = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

That and you could at least use the damn Limits in VIII even if they could be abused.

Monster randomly attack one of your party members and sending them into Trance after you already selected another character to attack? Better how that enemy doesn't die or your shit out of luck.

Why does Final Fantasy wars always happens in threads? :P We all can't like the same ones. I thought the junction system was awful, I much preferred the way you got skills in IX from equipping weapons/armors.

Is there any reason to go for the true HD remake as opposed to simply playing the originals through PCSX2? Because quite frankly, they look really damn good through the emulator.

Dat backlash. Yeah 8 is better than 9, just love the music and settings, plus the faster pace gameplay and interesting character designs put it over.

X-2 still has the best ATB system.

Yeah, while I disagree with some of your other points (I thought the skill progression system was pretty fun, myself), the Trance limit system in FFIX was utter garbage. Impossible to control, easy to waste, and you get to watch a 10-second cutscene every time it happens.

I've never seen so many nice things said about FFVIII in one spot

International Content, trophies, portability.

EDIT: Better sound maybe

Its not a war. No one has said VIII is factually better then IX. It's however old to have XII fans cry about an HD port after so long, even more in a thread dediacted to X/X-2 when X-2 has every reason under the sun to be happening before XII.

Eh, kinda yeah, but Quistis is the most boring Blue Mage that isn't Kimahri. Blue magic should be more than just damage-dealing, but apart from the standard bad breath/white wind/mighty guard mainstays, she's all about simplistic offense.

The only thing I'd agree with you about 8 being better than 9 at is settings. No way on character designs. Like, yeah, 9's characters are stupid but 8's are stupid in their own way.

You can see a comparison of the HD remake vs PCSX2 in the op and make that call. Beyond that, we're getting extra content from the International versions.
