We had a meetup yesterday in honor of April Fools Day. We decided to go back to 2003 and use GBA SP's, as well as showing off a lot of older gaming memorabilia. Here is my StreetPass Mii Plaza update:

I've had a friend up visiting recently, and with our various trips I've been getting at least 1 streetpass a day for the last week and a half. It feels good! I wish I could travel like this normally. Filling out the map, finishing up puzzles... yeah. It's good stuff. I got six in boston yesterday. Streetpasses are one of the main reasons I miss working at Gamestop

I brought my 3DS XL to Sakura-con in Seattle this past weekend. I wound finishing every single puzzle after getting almost 300 street passes lol. I have over 700 street passes now, most of them coming from Fanime, San Diego Comic Con, Anime Los Angeles, and Sakura-con.

I just need to visit a convention in the Midwest to fill the rest of my U.S. map.

I'm at a little over 200 actual tags, but a chunk of those are from one friend and there's about 70 from a con. All in all not bad, for Utah at least.

i'd love if some website would actually try the max distance under various situations (car, backpack, jacket, ...) and give the measured distances.
i've only seen the 30m/100feet number with nothing in between so far.

Shows what songs and genres people listen to. It's really cool in the alternate universe where people use their 3DSes to listen to music.

Chances are they did have StreetPass activated for StreetPass Mii Plaza, but they were maxed out at 10 StreetPass tags, so you could only exchanged data with their other StreetPass titles that weren't maxed out. This happens ALL THE TIME at conventions and big events because people don't check their StreetPass Mii Plaza often enough! At least you can still get their Mii in your Plaza via Invite Mii if that happens, as long as one of the other StreetPass titles supports Miis (though you can't use Miis from Invite Mii in Puzzle Swap or Find Mii).

Also, why WOULDN'T you activate StreetPass for Nintendo 3DS Sound? Even if you don't really use it, you could at least slap some music on there and create a StreetPass playlist so other people can get a StreetPass tag from you in it.

I turned the streetpass on today. Will do a raid in the mall later but I have very low expectations. I don't think the 3ds is very widespread in Sweden and probably even less likely that anyone is carrying theirs around.. But perhaps one of the employees at gamestop has one

Just got my 3DS Xl with monster hunter, the first thing I did as activate streetpass.

I estimated my number of streetpasses in one year at propably 1 or 2, living in a rural desert.

But I'm always taking it with me anyway.

And that is the thing to do, as I went to a concert in a big city and got my first, yeahhhh.

Next one in like 6 months, or I have to ask the kids I work with if they have one and look like a weirdo...

At least you can get the same functionality by exchanging guild cards on the Wii U, but I feel really bad for the people locked out of a cool armor set because they are on 3DS only and have nobody to streetpass.

Have completed most puzzles, with only a few pink pieces left in the few that I haven't.
Hoping to get some more tags when I go to Disney World at the end of this month. You never know.
Will see how my Vita Near fares also.
It is pretty dry around here usually for streetpass but still get a tag here or there randomly when I least expect it though rarely do they ever have a piece I need. There is one person at one of the gamestops near here that has almost every piece so that helps when I get down that way.

It's not hard to at least check it every 30 minutes or so. Personally, it's more like every 5 minutes for me, but I'm a little more dedicated to the cause than most people are. =P

Oh, I'm sure. You're always going to miss people at conventions. It's inevitable. But I know there are a lot of people who don't even bother checking their 3DS much at all at conventions. Even once every 30 minutes or every hour would be a lot better than just a few times a day. Not only are you missing out on StreetPass tags when you're maxed out, but you're keeping other people from getting your StreetPass tag, too!

That is correct, DS software cannot be running at all.

Thanks! I went to the SXSW Gaming Expo and had gotten like no tags since I had some DS game open (Pokemon I think). Closed it down and then got a number.. but man, what a bummer! Either way, I'm playing 999 now so I gotta remember to close it out when walking to and from my car, etc. I guess.

I never use the coins.. it's too far cumbersome to worry about the minigames IMO. I've had 300 forever haha.

If it wasn't 1 at a time, I'd do it.. if I could say blow 20-50 in one go and get a bunch of stuff, it'd be much more appealing.

You can, in Find Mii II onwards anyways. I blow through about 150-200 in one run of the Secret Quest.
