PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I am really liking the style of The Cave, but I already broke the narrative.

There's a moment early in the game where
you have to get gold from a dragon to give to the maiden. When I got the gold, the dragon gets loose and kills everyone, and the game screams "who left the gate open!". Hilarious ... if I had opened the gate. I have the time traveller, who can pass through the gate with her special ability. I never actually opened the gate. Kinda took me out of the game.

I never got to that part with the Knight. I experienced a bug that brought me somewhere else when I was climbing the rope with two stones. Anyway, I enjoyed it

Okami is in EU only right? Boooo

Okami is a good game to play if you a student on holiday or unemployed.

Ok, I'm out...

My first time seeing this gif. Thanks for the laugh, lol

Anyways, is it a good time to subscribe to PS Plus? I got a PS3 that is collecting dust with a broken blu-ray laser (i.e. no longer reads disc), honestly haven't touched the system in months because of that. I don't feel like buying a new ps3 and was considering just going digital only. So given my circumstances, would it be a good idea to subscribe to Plus to get access to the free games?

Hahahaha, my pleasure ;)

As an answer to your question I will say without a doubt yes. Actually, my brother had the same problem as you and he suscribed to PS+ due to my recommendation and he is quite sattisfied with it. So go ahead and enjoy.

Okami feels longer because there are two points in the story where it feels like it's about to be over before it's actually over. The game's a trilogy of smaller games.

Is the game really that long?

I think people complaining about the length are just missing the point or they have never played or liked any JRPG/WRPG/Demons Games etc... Wich I can understand.

Its more about the pacing or the game being too text heavy, something that has being fixed in the HD version thanks to the skipabble text.

I've always wanted to play Okami and the length isn't a turnoff for me. Capcom has a bunch of stuff up on NA+ so I assume it's just a matter of time before it shows up here.

Also, I'll ask again, is there a complete and detailed list of every free game ever given out on NA+? If a EU+ list exists as well then I'd love to see it too

So I signed up earlier today by purchasing a PSN card on Amazon and then redeeming it in the PS Store. For whatever reason, PSN wouldn't take my CC but it went thru on Amazon and everywhere else. Go figure.

I queued up all the PS3 free downloads and Vita as well just for the hell of it (I don't own a Vita). I've got maybe 60+gb of downloads queued up and it is rather taking a long ass time to download the first game. Is it usually this painstakingly slow? How do you guys manage? At this rate, its gonna take me several days to download everything.

Just a tip: you don't need to download everything (unless of course you WANT everything on your HDD right away). You can just confirm the ''purchase'' of a Plus game and not download it and it will be in your download list even after it drops from Plus.

Question: I got Starhawk from PS+ a while ago and loved it. Now I want to play the multiplayer. Will buying an online pass for $10 work? I'm not sure because there's also something called "starhawk multiplayer" for $20.

They gave the single player part of the game, so if you want some online action, you need to buy the multiplayer, the one that costs $20

What repeats has there been? I don't remember any.

Some of the PSone Classics. I remember where one month they gave away every Spyro game and one of them was given away free earlier I believe.

Some of the Genesis games eg Sonic 2 have been free more then once I think. Stacking has been free more then once too IIRC.

Damn. Might be cheaper to buy the game used from a store + the online code.

Or you can buy it new. The price on amazon is $16, that's a better option

BTW, this is my first time playing demon's souls, I defeated the first demon and I don't know what to do now.

I die in every world I visit :(

Go to 1-2, it's your best option for now. Latter go to 2-1 and maybe after that 3-1. You will now better how to act by that time.

To offer an alternative opinion on Okami, I'm full time employed and have a terrible time staying interested in long games but I still finished it. Plan on doing it again as well.

That's not breaking the narrative, there's actually quite a few skips like that where you can use a character's abilities to circumvent the game's intended route. For instance, because of the monk's telekinesis,
you can skip the zoo section entirely by just grabbing a hot dog from the huntress at a distance instead of solving the puzzle to lure her away. Alternatively, you can even carry a hot dog all the way from the beginnin.g of the game and skip it the same way.

Are you sure about that?

I bought the game a few months back and couldn't handle the slow pace of the text. Many people in the OT were saying that the text is not skippable first time, but only on subsequent readings.

Only the main story text is not skippable, the rest it is.

So what happens when my PS+ subscription ends? Do my already installed games become unplayable or can I still play them?

I only had the month trial the ps3 came with and I'm not going to continue with the subscription.

So should I install what I can and then watch it end, or just uninstall already cause it'll be wasted unplayable space?

The latter, except for games you've actually bought that have had a small PS+ discount applied to them. Those you get to keep, of course.

Free Plus games are unplayable until you resub, obviously.

If you don't plan to renew your suscription, you'll be better deleting them.

could be said for any games that are over 30hrs long, okami is a med length game, it's a little longer than some of the modern open world games or rpgs.

what is wrong with bigger games. Games are not like assignments where you need to complete within certain time. Take your time enjoy the journey specially if it is as beautiful as this one. I took 50 hours to finish re4. zelda twilight was 70 + hrs.
