PokéBOMB 2: Electric Boogaloo (New X and Y info)

My favourite part:

God yes. Literally any Pokemon would look awesome in these battles, lol.

I love the new design! NeoGAF is such a miserable forum sometimes.
What are you talking about? Tons of people here are freaking out over how awesome it is.

This might be the first Pokemon that I leave the battle animations on for. :-D

The new pokemon looks like one of Freeza's forms XD.

Not saying the design is bad but I will always think of Freeza now when I see this pokemon.

Never mind Mewtwotwo or whatever, my boy Cloyster was in that trailer!

Mewtwo is probably my favourite legendary, i'm fine with this forme/spinoff/mewthree/whatever, while i'm not sure what I think about its design on the whole right now I at least know that I don't dislike the design, original genetic freak design still exists and isn't replaced so yeah.
If anything i'm more bothered that this alone is the only news, PokeBOMB my arse.

I blame hype - no one really said more news.

Who knows, maybe Coro will get more stuff?

Lemme go and post hundreds of Pokemon designs and defend each and every one of them then.

Is this what you seriously want me to do?

All that sidestepping. You're gonna make Quattro proud.

Pretty much people are saying that you create an argument involving generalization and covering your ears when people try countered that.

Focus Blast? Hyper Beam?

Damn it people, stop arguing about pokemon designs. It's a subjective thing. Some people think that gen 1/2 designs are the best. That's fine. Some people think that the newer gens have the best design. That's also fine. There's no such thing as an objectively good character design. People like what they like. Stop! Seriously.

This thing better not get in Smash over Mewtwo.

Nope, Pokemon topic police have to arbitrate what discussion is allowed and what is not.

Honestly to me it seems some people will never be happy with whatever new design gamefreak comes up with. Stop living in the past people, the new pokemon is really good.

This.

I'm just disappointed that's all the news we got since I rather hear about new game features than new Pokemon.. But oh well.

Hoping that X and Y and what looks like either a new form or new pokemon entirely means that genes and maybe breeding will play a bigger role in the game?

After looking at it again, I actually don't mind the design so much. The fingers/toes are weird, but otherwise it's fine.

I think people overstated that. All that was said was new Pokemon and nothing else.

Yeah, none of that bullshit statistics.

NO MORE LUCARIO IN SMASH

HALLELUJAH

Considering how Lucario pretty much became the "saving face" after Zoroark, I really doubt Pokemon Company would let that happen. Hell, they can pretty much DLC costume Director Lucario.

There isn't a generalization here though. And we're not talking about "statistical fact" or anything, just my personal breakdown in terms of ratios of designs I like and those I don't. I went through Serebii the other day and my opinion of good designs slid down across gens.

Gen 1: 80%
Gen 2: 70%
Gen 3: 50%
Gen 4: 30%
Gen 5: 25%

You disagree, fine. Feel free to ignore me. This is my personal opinion about aesthetic qualities, that much should be obvious.

But throwing out a Muk or whatever as if to invalidate my feeling on the series' design trend as a whole doesn't really invalidate anything.

I'm intrigued by the prospect of it being a new Pokemon entirely. Damn, kind of looking forward to the movie now.

I don't even see a resemblance between that thing and the original mewtwo. It's too stringy, and none of its limb shapes match. The only thing I can see as a resemblance is that they both have the "humanoid with tail" design which in all honesty is shared by a bunch of other things in fiction...

Low-res capture of an 8-bit game doesn't do the concept justice. But Giyig definitely was "a catlike alien being with superb psychic ability...that dislikes humans...and was found in a remote cave at the end of the game" (sound familiar...?).

Then when you consider that Creatures, Inc. was formerly Ape, Inc. (the devs behind the first two Mother games)...

Would be crazy if Mewtwo actually evolved. Legendaries aren't typically known to evolve, but when it comes to Mewtwo, there was only one made, and not everything is known about it.

I'm not sure why anyone hasn't thought of this before (at least that I have seen). But what if this Mewtwo look alike is the actual birth product of Mew, making it Mewtwo's theoretical sibling.

Or a Mew evolution/form.

Sakurai shall see the light and realise that Lucario was a bad bad thing and go back to the original... in THIRD form!

NO MORE LUCARIO IN SMASH

HALLELUJAH

That's assuming Nintendo is TERRIBLE again and removes characters, when there's no goddamn reason to do so.

Mewtwo
Lucario
Zoroark
Mewthree

Can all be in as costumes of one moveset, along with the return of all the other removed Melee characters

But... nobody likes Zoroark.
I hope they don't use a one-size-fits-all solutions for hit animations. I want unique hits for weak, normal, and super effective/critical hits so attacks feel like they have more impact.
You give Game Freak too much credit.

Lol, deaths animation will be awesome!

They will fall through the ground. Just like the old days... :')

Also, what do you think the type is? Psychic/Fighting is my guess. Reason being that it is starring in the latest movie, and to counter Genesect's type advantage (which would demolish Mewtwo) fighting makes the most sense, in my opinion. Also, more speed-oriented? Dunno..... Still looks very offensive, design-wise.
