If you made Lucario play exactly like Mewtwo you'd be essentially removing a character anyway, they play nothing alike outside of superficially similar neutral special attacks.

Don't care much for the design. I'm more excited about how they will utilize the 3D battles for Gym battles. Will the battle actually take place in that Gym or some generic Gym?

I serverly doubt this. People would be upset to find out that there's grass inside a building and a cave, would kill any sort of immersion. Doesn't make sense at all. There's really only 5 or 6 different types they'll need to make (grass, rock, sand, snow, inside, etc)
Curious to see trainer animations and such. There's still a LOT to be revealed. They're gonna run out of time if they only do one every 2 months.

2400+ animations for getting hit compared to 700+?

I'm not pulling statistics from a fan site.
I'm just saying that I just went through a list of Pokemon to refresh my memory, marking down which ones I liked and which ones I didn't like. I liked more of them in the beginning of the series, than I did at the end.
And my personal feeling on the ratio of good:bad Pokemon becoming unfavorable across gens can't be readily invalidated by someone throwing a Muk picture at me and saying there's always been bad Pokemon from the start, which is not even relevant to the argument I was making.
I think you've been misinterpreting me from the start and somewhat purposefully so.

I don't know how accurate this is but it was posted on r/pokemon 4 hours before this show, and the "Mewtwo Y" turns out to look just like what was just announced. Might mean there's 1 more coming.

there are only two possibilities in my mind: a new clone of Mew (or maybe Mewtwo?) or an alternate forme of Mewtwo
however you feel about the design, I think the concept lore-wise is pretty cool

I wasn't following the hype or whatever for this news very much, but the thread said PokeBOMB 2 instead of like "New Mewtwo forme/inspired pokemon in Pokemon X and Y" and thus it raised my expectations.

They haven't announced whether it's an evolution, an alternate forme, or a new Pokémon altogether.
I think it'd be neat if it was a new Pokémon. Like what if there were multiple Mew-related experiments going on in that lab, and now we're seeing another one.
