Whoa! I loved SC when I was a kid. What are the odds of this getting a Mac port?

Like the guy said. This is a doxbox game. Buy the game, get the data directory, copy it to mac, get dosbox for mac, and put it in the right directory and it should work. There is no magic here.

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
As I bought this bundle during the X-mas sale, I can now get Never Winter Nights 2 FOR ONLY $4!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'll definitely play PST (I've played BG already, but I want to own them on GOG), and I'm somewhat interested in NWN2 (the expansion is supposed to be great), so what do you guys recommend?

BG1, BG2, and PST for 11$, or all games for 21$?

The worst game in that bundle is probably Demon Stone (unless Dragon Shard sucks), and even so I really enjoyed it. If you expect to have the time to play them all, I'd say go for complete. If you want the best and don't have time for more, get the three for $11.

I'll probably play BG1, BG2, PST and NWN2, but those are already 21$. I think I'll buy the trinity for now, and they complete my collection at a later date.

ToEE is an excellent game too, whilst it's narrative isn't as impressive as PS:T or Mask of the Betrayer it's by far the best playing DnD game ever released. If you're a fan of turn based strategy it's definitely worth picking up at a low price.

Damn, that DnD sale is SO tempting... I always wanted to try out Planescape Torment. And Temple of Elemental Evil... and Icewind Dale, too. But my backlog's pretty big already. Why did I have to click on this thread???

Definitely picking up the DND pack, which I've meant to before and kept forgetting. The value is crazy, though the percentages are kinda funny so they basically force your hand to buy it all.

Not being familiar with the game that sounds awesome. Will definitely need to check that out.

NWN2 with Mask of the Betrayer is something everybody should play.

Well, I beat The Cat Lady. Streamed the whole thing and the archive will be up at that twitch link to the side if anyone is interested. Keep in mind this starts about 2 minutes into the game, had some issues with the first one and had to change video settings. It's on the sidebar. http://www.twitch.tv/awesomeoutof10/b/386781834

Really enjoyed it although certainly aspects were a bit problematic. Most of the story ends up being metaphoric(trying to be vague) but I'm not sure if all of it worked to suit that process. The atmosphere of the game was stunning though and it's honestly one of the creepiest products I've experienced. And in a good way, not in a dirty one.

My main problem with the game on a design level was how it handled certain conversations and events. For example, and this is something that happens often, you'll be presented with 5 conversation options and you have to choose which one. The problem is 8/10 times you still have to choose every option. It leads to certain conversations feeling disorganized, I feel they should have just been story scenes without interruptions and proper linking.

In general though, certainly worth playing and a few of the moments in the game are among the most memorable I've experienced in a game. Check it out, only $7.49 from GOG!

And holy mollers at this D&D deal, what a great package. So glad I didn't buy Neverwinter Nights 2 last night, I was so close to doing so and decided to get the Cat Lady instead and wait it out. Thank goodness I did!

D&D promo, a big bundle of neverwinter, baldur's gate etc. for up to 80% off.

So has anybody bought the old D&D titles from GOG? I have most of them on CD/DVD already, but a few (NWN1, ToEE) don't seem to work right in the newer versions of Windows...do the downloads work OK with Windows 7 or Vista?

I'm really thinking about getting most of these. I wouldn't necessarily need the NWN2 titles, but I'd love to get the original BG/TotSC this way, and not have to worry about 6 CDs (yes, I bought it that long ago). Plust, my IWD2 and Torment CDs got damaged, so I need to replace those...

Probably hundreds of thousands bought them... they definitely all work, at least as good as they ever are going to. With a little troubleshooting in some cases, and of course modding helps alleviate some of the issues with their age (brings in widescreen, etc). I scrapped my NWN2 physical copies for GOG's pretty quickly myself, the patching process for that game takes like 3 hours, it's so nice just to have it install and be ready to go.

Any quick referrals to what outside mods and patches should be used for NWN2? Downloading it along with the others now.

Excited to play Temple of Elemental Evil in particular, my mother unfortunately had gotten in with the "Dungeons and Dragons" is weird craze that was going around at the time so she wouldn't allow me to play it. Luckily she came to her senses years ago and I'm an adult now so I can buy it anyway ;) Had honestly forgotten about it until today.

Edit: Now that I think about it she bought me Baldur's Gate 1/2 complete sets for my birthday back in 2002. That Dungeons hate really came out of nowhere, oh well. She came to her senses.

Well, I'm sure hundreds of thousands bought them, I was referring to GAFers....

When you say troubleshooting, could you be a bit more specific? And like the above poster, what mods do you recommend?

There are links in the OP for recommended mods and links to mod guides or you could try GOG's forums, they tend to sticky the mods for each game in its forum. If you've never played the games before, your best bet it to just stick to the widescreen/bug/fix mods and not add in a ton of content.

All the infinity engine games (and the other ones you listed - NWN ToEE) from GOG definitely work fine for the most part, of course with PCs, you'll always run in to situations where a certain configuration might cause issues others don't have. OS compatibility shouldn't be an issue, they all list XP, Vista, 7 & 8 (I've been running 7 for a few years and have had no troubles). Some people experience slowdown in the infinity engine games for example, and there's a few ways to fix it outlined in mod post, but it may not be necessary depending on your setup. I'd be pretty confident in saying that any issue which can come up with any of the popular games from this sale has already come up for someone else and been solved.

Thanks, Minsc. I'm definitely going ahead and getting these then.

Picked up NWN2 from GOG, even though I have the Steam version. It has one extra expansion and I just like supporting GOG. I already owned everything else in the pack.

I know this has probably been asked before, but what are the odds that we'll ever see the SSI Gold Box games on GOG? I know they are really old and obtuse at this point but I'd really love to see them on there. Dragonstrike too.

Someone should tell WayFoward to get Shantae: Risky's Revenge up on GOG. Seeing it in Steam Greenlight purgatory is so disheartening.

So I recently put Neverwinter Nights 2 and Evoland in my cart for purchase. They both total at around $13, I add my card details, click on Process Now and the page hasn't refereshed, nor has it processed my purchase >_>;
To be exact: Next to the Process Now button is the spinning circle that shows it's processing my order like in normal purchases but nothing's happened yet. Should I close the page and try again?

GOG shouldn't let you rebuy anything you own... if it's not showing up as owned in "my games" and you've gotten no confirmation e-mails about the purchase (I get them instantly), then I'd attempt re-purchasing myself. But I've never had any issues like that to say for sure.

Did that and the purchase went through fine, phew.
I am now the proud owner for all them good D&D PC games!
...now to get myself a Chamber of Time and Space from Dragon Ball so I can get around to playing these blasted PC games @_@.

Grabbed NWN2, snipped out Dragonshard and Demon Stone once again. I got the main game and the second expansion from D2D, but they won't let me redownload my damn copy now, plus this has Westgate.

Mask of the Betrayer? I actually got that physically for $5 or $10 from Newegg, so that was covered anyway.

Same thing's happening with me with just Neverwinter Nights 2, just sitting there with the spinning widgets, nothing happening.

edit: yeah, I'll try again in a few just to make sure nothing went through.

Honestly, this entire pack for only $21 is a brilliant deal. I suggest picking it up now, despite your backlog.

The GOG version of NWN2 has one more expansion than the Steam version? What is it?

The GOG version has "Mysteries of Westgate" which is not included in the Steam Release. Here's the description from Metacritic:

Set in the infamous Forgotten Realms city of Westgate, players find themselves in possession of a powerful but cursed treasure that threatens to destroy them. Linked to the underworld organization known as the Night Masks, the treasure will draw players into a city-spanning clash between warring factions. Players must choose their allegiance in order to break the curse and ultimately uncover the plot that threatens Westgate itself

Nice, and after I bought NWN2 last week full price. I already own the other games. Well, you just never know when a sale will hit. ;)

True. Having just bought Icewind Dale two days before the sale, I can't really complain since the prices are so low and all. Plus, playing one 50 hour RPG at a time is enough for me right now. Life is busy.

£14.20 for the D&D promo. What an insane deal. Over half of the games are on my must-buy-to-alleviate-the-shame-of-never-having-played-them list too. Happy days!

I have dozens of games from GOG and I'll be surprised if I ever play even a fifth of them. It's an addiction, buying these old games that there's no time for.

I've only bought about 6 so far. I probably won't buy anymore until I've finished what I have.
Unless Morrowind gets released...

Installed the widescreen mod among other things for Icewind Dale, was wondering though. Did I mess something up or is the UI supposed to be this small? Patched the game for 1920x1080

idmain2013-04-0611-419kb2z.png

Edit: Anyone else have MalwareBytes list ToEE.exe list as a malware vendor?

The UI does not scale at all so it will be smaller at higher resolutions. I find 1280x800 to be a perfect resolution for Infinity Engine games but 1080p isn't too bad.

Someone may have made a mod with a larger UI. And even if you can't do anything about the size of the icons, I'm pretty sure there's a way to increase the font size.

I agree, 1280 is the max I'll go to. Any higher and both the UI and the characters will be too tiny to see anything.

The current IndieGameStand $1 minimum Pay What You Want deal is for Pid. It redeems on both GOG and Steam, it ends in about 3 1/2 days. If you beat the average paid for the bundle, currently $1.27, you get the bonus material which includes concept art, artworks, and design document downloads. You can get all of these when you pay $1 and redeem your GOG version which has all of those as extras. I think throwing IGS that extra $.27 is worth the expense though.

Before you ask, yes, IGS IS legit. I have bought several games from them and redeemed multiple codes that I got from them on Desura/Steam/GOG.

https://indiegamestand.com/

Go here to redeem your GOG key.

EDIT: Apparently they are all out of GOG keys right now. They will be getting more soon.

EDIT 2: Nothing has been tweeted or posted yet, but I finally got my GOG code now.

Yeah, that is most likely a false positive. That happened to me with the riddick game and a few others, sometimes the fixes or DRM-remnants trigger false positives. Try to see if you can whitelist the game or install it after turning your antivirus off.

I found this : http://www.gog.com/forum/temple_of_elemental_evil/norton_claim_that_toee_exe_is_a_trojan/page1

Update: We have released a new version of the installer, which includes a modified executable. This should minimize the number of anti-virus scanners that throw false positive warnings to a few less popular ones. Depending on the user feedback, we may make some further modifications to the executable.

This happens a lot with games and game-related services. Update the database, and if it's still a problem post on the False Positives forum, it'll usually get fixed in a couple days.

Thanks guys, was just a bit worried as this is the first warning I've encountered since upgrading to Windows 8 a few months ago so it jumped out at me as "Oh shit"

I couldn't find one but didn't look too hard. For now I just switched to 720P.

This GOG deal is so amazing though, so many great games I haven't played that I'm finally getting the oppertunity to get through. Baldur's Gate 1/2 were the only ones I'd played and finished although I didn't complete the expansion for 2.

Kind of frustrating in Planescape that the right click radial menu is still quite small even with mods, text looks brilliant though.

Edit: For the Baldur's Gate mods, is the classic listing the one I should stick to? Seem a lot more complicated than the other mods I installed in terms of it being more based off personal preferences Is it worth playing BG1 in the BG2 engine? Should I just buy the special edition? If I choose to buy the special edition will my base game save transfer to it? Sorry for all the questions.

A lot of those are personal opinion questions... I mean, do you want to play the game in its original form, or with BG2-interface additions? Do you want to play a heavily modified version of the game, or something more like the original version? I think that the fix-pack stuff is a must, but other than that, it's all optional. I know a lot of people like the Tutu mod, but I'd personally rather play BG1 with BG1's interface, and BG2 with BG2's...
