It really does look like a Zora or a Twilek with one lekku.
Also I wonder if it will have lower special attack because it lacks the secondary spine/blood vessel that turbocharges Mewtwo's brain
 
I've warmed up to the design. As long as it isn't a Mewtwo evolution and is another clone or something else then hey, why not.

It's a design that will probably shine in really well done fanart.

The official art and model does absolutely nothing for me, but I love the look of it in the art I posted, among others. It's just really hard to get it to look right.

I was wondering about that as well. Another thought was that it has an even bigger brain that incorporates it's headtail , and that makes it even stronger. Maybe the Mew Family are taking back the crown as top pokemon, having stats as high or higher than Arceus. (Lets destroy all balance, lol)

Eh, Fennekin is pretty unsalvageable for me. I think there's only been one or two pieces of art where I really liked how it looked.

And nothing will ever make me like Sylveon. The design is inherently terrible and there is nothing to fix it. The best fan art of it is still a bad piece of art.

Fennekins evo's are where hope lies at this point. I always choose fire starter first ever since gen 1, so I'm stuck with this thing. Meh I didn't really like Chimchar and quite like Infernape .

Also I swear to god this thing better not be fire/fighting. i mean I like the combo, but three gens in a row? Jesus.

My hope is that Team Rocket is back in the new game, and they've created a new clone of Mew, or this is one of their "Failed" Experiments before the perfection that is Mewtwo.

Yea I hope it's not fire/fighting. I hope for the speculated reverse type advantage (Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, Water/Fighting).
 
I hope Fennekin is another Fire/Fighting, just to see the fallout, and to feel some gratification for writing it off beforehand. :)

Was it ever confirmed outside of the anime that Mewtwo was Team Rocket's creation? I think it would be kind of cool if they came back though.

It's funny that Mewtwo was supposed to be so powerful because it was a clone of the most powerful Pokemon known at the time. Then a few years later there's a huge list of Pokemon that outclass Mew.

I dunno, but Blaine seemed to be involved and Mewtwo was born naturally after finding Mew in South America.

Meh, Team Rocket's kinda lame.

I mean, they all are, really, but I actually get a kick out of how depraved the leader of the bad guys has been getting each gen

Hmm I'm not sure actually. I know it's in the anime and at least two of the different manga. I like the idea of mewtwo being created by team rocket.

IIRC (so may be incorrect) the notes in the games that tell the story of mewtwo's birth belonged to Team Rocket.
 
Nah it was by Blaine and Fuji, but TR is uninvolved. It's just about them finding a pregnant Mew in some jungle and experimented with its embryo.
