I feel like the two separate poll format will favor two similar characters being chosen. If the moe coalition wins, they've shown they have the numbers to push a moe character to win the second poll. If a dude wins, and a second dude will probably win the next time around too. Two polls just mean the largest plurality gets two characters that suit their tastes and everyone else isn't represented.
 
It seems like Round 2 has inspired more fan art than Round 1 did... wonder if the art intensity will only increase for each round?

It's going to be such a beautiful bloodbath, everyone - get ready.

Beowulf is growing on me pretty quickly.

Screw Venus though, Double is your body horror fighter and the last thing Skullgirls need is more blatant cheesecake.

Despite my fervent Isaac support and Minette antagonism, I'm also in this boat. I like every character in top 16.
 
Isaac is really cool until you realize he's just the professor steampunk meme with hair.

And Minette's happenstance based fighting would be hilarious to watch, she'd be the new Peacock.
 
If we get 2 moe characters I'm gonna give away my Steam code and get a frontal lobotomy so I won't be able to fully comprehend the abject treachery that has taken place

We actually felt it would be the opposite, that everyone would vote for their type for the first round, and if we just picked the Top 2 that would increase the likelihood that we'd get two similar types.

And it seems like most people are interested in a variety of characters, so we felt that the winner of the first one could change what they're interested in for the second vote.

Like, here and on other forums, I see a lot of people who want one guy and one girl. So if a girl wins the first round, they may switch their votes to favor males the second time around.

Despite his badass aesthetics, that's not all he's about. His time gimmick totally won me over. That one gimmick and the potential of his moveset, I can't wait to see some mind boggling stuff when/if/when he gets in.

My choices for the second poll are actually going to be based on the gender of the first winner. If a girl wins I'm going to skew towards more guys and vice versa. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
 
From a gameplay perspective, I'd say Beowulf and Eliza have got it best. The description for Annie's and Umbrella's just sound like aesthetics tbh.

I sure hope the final four are Issac, Beowulf, Panzerfaust and Annie. Split up the vote among the three dudes while everybody else concentrates their votes on Annie. The tears will be delicious.
 
Curious if it's possible to vote for just 1 character therein denying two other character's the possibility of surpassing your real favourite.
 
Also, on that palette color for Beowulf. He should be 'shirtless' and have purple pants to complete it! XP

Under the wolf pelts his clothes are pretty everyman-ish, but that's part of the charm, for all we know, when he's not wrestling he's got a pretty boring office job or something, and I'd be OK with that, especially if he's still able to stand toe-to-toe with characters who've been artificially augmented, bonded with parasites, packing livnig weapons, backed by an army or functionally immortal.

Heck, Tekken's King is partially based on a real-life priest who wrestled, I'd be OK with Beowulf being a more plain variation on that.

But hey, at least you're finding fault with something in his actual design, not something in a freakish sample of fan art.

I'm not really sure I can articulate my objection to wearing loafers in public any more clearly than I already have. Suffice it to say that voting for Beowulf is effectively voting for the end of civilized society as we know it. I say this with no hyperbole whatsoever.

No, that's... that's the opposite of what Beowulf needs. The exact diametric opposite. He needs scorn and castigation. That is what he needs.

I know there are people like you, or people that vote primarily based on the description of the character's mechanics rather than aesthetics, but I'm willing to bet that an overwhelming majority are voting primarily based on aesthetics. I would bet real currency that:

1) Nobody who doesn't make it to at least the third round of voting in the first poll will stand a chance of winning the second poll.

2) If you broadly divide the characters into moe chick, non-moe chick, and dude, whichever category the first poll's winner falls into will be the category of the winner of the second poll.

I agree with the first point.

I would stand by the fact that whoever gets 2nd/3rd in this poll has the best possible shot of taking the 2nd one easily. I think once people realize that character #2 has real support they're going to focus on them, especially if character 2nd/3rd was already a fan favorite. I don't think the category is a factor as much as the actual straight-up popularity of the character is.

For example if the final results are Beowulf/Feng/Eliza, and Eliza wins, I would bet a chunk of change that Feng or Beowulf would be the second character picked in the followup poll.

I guess we'll see how it pans out. If I'm right, we get two similar characters(hurting character variety), and if you're right, the second poll is a complete waste of time.
 
Still thinking about my vote, but I'm quickly falling into the anyone-but-marie camp concerning my voting end-game. I hope the moe~ guys and gals go for Umbrella or Annie instead of her, if one of them must win.

But if manliness does prevail I will be even happier.
