I think it's policy here to tag folks who are PR for game companies if the mods know about it.

Saw another thread where they outright asked another poster if they were working for a company.


I'm ok with the moe if it happens, but moe characters tend to have really long combos, so I'm voting for folks who I think will have short combos.

I think voting end-game might have been the wrong term. I guess I just mean the result of the whole thing.

My vote is going to Panzerfaust, B. Daliah, and either Beowulf/Brain Drain/Isaac this round.

But yeah, Minette fits into my previous statement too. Over Marie, at least. :P
 
The only moe moe uguu~ character I'd like to see is Annie, and even then I'd still prefer having a male character get in first. The game has been given another chance and I think it would be best to choose characters with designs that would be better accepted with the majority of the FGC and remove some of the stigma attached to the game.
 
I think out of the characters that seem popular enough to win, I'd most like to see Beowulf and Annie taking it. Close seconds would probably be Isaac instead of Beowulf and Eliza instead of Annie.

Yeah. On one hand I'm like "Fuck what they think, bring on the madness," but on the other hand I want this game to get the fair shake it deserves, so if a male or otherwise non-moe moe uguu~ character does that, then so be it.

Having a male character wont magically make the game acceptable. Marvel crowd will always be the marvel crowd
 
I honestly think its going to be Annie, and Beowulf as well.

For the fact that, Annie has a strong following already. And if it were down to Annie/Marie, people would go with Annie so that Marie wouldn't win.

Same with Beowulf, and if there were to be a guy, i'd definitely say he would take the vote over Isaac/Panzerfaust.

But it will help improve the image of the game. A lot of people dismiss it as a fanservice game and adding characters like Venus certainly won't help, especially when it's the fans of the game that voted her in. Just my two cents.

That was my primary reasoning for avoiding Venus at this time, even though I do like the weird/creepy/gross trappings she's got going for her (and non-transformed, she could really use a design other than "naked, oh and a scarf", but I suppose that's part of the dichotomy she's representing.)

Don't know much about it, but isn't that series looked down upon by 3D fighting game fans? Besides, that series shamelessly uses its girls for sales. Dead or Alive Extreme Beach volleyball?

Exactly the point, DoA's always had dudes in it, dudes that girls find hot as well as bad ass dudes, but what's the first thing you thought of when it came to the game? Once the masses make up their minds on something it's made, any positive gains of players from that point is a slow trickle.

I don't think Skullgirl's public perception is nearly as intrenched as DoA. While I personally think it's never too late to reinvent something, Skullgirls still has a far greater opportunity of doing this in a much shorter time.

Though I think that the (hopefully) inevitable Skullgirls 2 will stand a better chance of being the real re-debut for the series.

But like I said, the game's mechanics themselves seem week. I only ever played DOA Dimensions and while fun it I could tell that tekken was a better fighter. Plus, most of its characters had the personality of a rock.

And like I said, Skullgirls is achieving something of a relaunch right now, so we should want everything to go right.

Eh, I can deal with a single "broken" character. Being broken in Skullgirls means you've still got to contend with a smattering of high quality characters designed to handle a lot of bullshit. Sort of like vanilla Phoenix... except she'd have to deal with three times the amount of assists, setups and viable strategies, etc.

I'm certainly not on Team Minette, but I can kind of understand it - but Marie doesn't even have have half the charm or an appealing color palette going for her. It kinda goes with the being kept alive to do someone else's bidding while getting her own wishes twisted, but in gameplay or design, the appeal just isn't there for me. not to mention you already get a decent glimpse of her story through everyone else's, there isn't really much that having her playable would add.

Annie, however, I could get behind if it came to that, but as long as my choices are viable, I'm sticking with them.

Japan has made some nice color palettes for Marie. I'll take Annie over Marie any day of the week, though. I like to think that Annie will make it farther in vote#1 in the worst case scenario. Maybe then she'd get more support in the second if Beowulf wins round one.

Yeah, anyone who can't make it past top 16 isn't getting a character slot. It'll be one of the top 8 at best. Top 3 are the ones who'll be fighting for the vote #2.

I'd say having the dead roaming the earth, which lore-wise is the primary skullgirl power, is more of a civilization breaker.

Would you happen to know of a nice shoe catalog we could link to to show Alex Ahad and maybe persuade him to tweak that offending 4% of an otherwise fine design's aesthetics?


Also, Ravid's enjoying the tension a bit too much for someone who's been witnessing an unusual amount of support and has so much info at his disposal, such as which character picks have been associated with the highest donations, not to mention the simpler character rankings per voting round...
 
This campaign is bringing out Peter's inner Light Yagami like no other. Sometimes I visualize him sitting at a desk pretending to do actual work while watching the action in a tablet placed inside a bag of potato chips.
 
I'm suddenly scared that none of my characters end up in top 8 and then I'll just kill everyone that donated.

You didn't pay attention to the playstyle notes. Mike specifically wrote "not Kanji."

It's easy to see why once you look at all of the other characters he is supposed to be similar to. If you are a big fan of 80s-90s era wrestling you have to vote for him.

With R. Mika and Fuente as inspirations expect some serious jump in shenanigans.

Also Beowolf's chair is going to be designed to alter the way the stage actually functions since you can play off of it.


But as cool as Beowolf is I'm scared now that we may are voting poorly. I wouldn't want this guy angry with me.

Scythana can hold her own and weaponize fallan characters, while Molly seems too inclined to be an assist character who'd have trouble playing solo through her own story mode - Scythana seems like the more viable bet.

Sounds good to me - I like Beowulf, but of the supposed canon plot trio, Dahlia seems like the more interesting choice that the existing stories haven't covered properly yet.
