Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

@Takao

I just saw the Invizimals game/announcement (Kinda disappointed to be honest)

noticed thatyou said the PS3 version is pointless, but I think that it actually made the Vita version and the entire thing pointless, and Sony is doing it completely wrong because this type of games belong to handheld and they made a console adventure game instead of handheld RPG.

what your thoughts on it?

Sony should've combined both games into one. The problem with the PSP games is that there's not a lot to do outside of catching and battling the monsters. It sounds like more of the same from the Vita game, but the big hook for Invizimals is the augmented reality play which the PS3 game lacks.

The biggest disappointment came from the crew hinting that the Vita game will continue onwards with the FMV cutscenes. That stuff was fun for a bit, but if Sony wants the franchise to grow they'll need to be dropped.

Is the port good? I don't mind impulse buying a cheap fighter for Vita as long as the netcode is good.

>Expecting a 2000-ish fighter to have good netcode

lolololololololololololololol.

No, it won't have good netcode because the PS3 version was just like the X-box version of #Reload in 2003. Arc would have to slow the game down/rework it for the netcode to work.

After playing more MonHan on Vita with a friend (side-by-side with him on the Go) I actually... Well I guess I'm indifferent to how it looks. The atmosphere is definitely better on the larger screen, and Vita's speakers are amazing, but it's a shame that PSP games couldn't get a universal resolution boost.

I know many games (such as the MT Framework ones) can't be simply upressed without text looking horrible.

I agree with this completely. I would absolutely devour a Sony take on Pokemon, Invizimals is an existing IP and they make the actual Invizimals RPG on the PS3?! Wtf?? It would be PERFECT on a handheld, hence why Pokemon has predominantly been on handhelds. I just scratch my head sometimes with these announcements/development decisions.
The Vita game seems to be in the same style of the PSP Invizimals games, which were quite successful. The PS3 one is presumably intended to expand the reach of the franchise, and be part of a nice cheap kid-oriented holiday bundle in Europe. If it does well though, I wouldn't be surprised to see a port or a similar game on the Vita.

Forgot about that one. I was kinda looking at Machinarium but I haven't seen any reviews good or bad about it so I am sort of hesitant.

Don't get Sunflowers. The game is fun for like an hour and a half and then it's just the same thing over and over. If I were you I'd save the money for something that may come out in the coming weeks.

True and the spring sale is supposed to change each week right? I guess with PS+ that could put a good 9.99 vita game at 7.99.

Edit: I also forgot that I have Machinarium on PC.

I would have recommended escapeVektor but it went back to it's normal $9.99 price yesterday :(

It has some severe issues anyway >_>
But yeah, its actually a fun concept.

On a different note: All the games on my Vita on one screen:

Glo-fucking-rious.

Hey guys,

So last month, whenever BlazBlue was on sale for Vita, I picked it up. I've never played a BlazBlue game before, and I'll be super honest, the game is intimidating. There are like 11 modes from the main menu. I started with "Story," and there are like three modes under that. I've been playing now for a couple of hours, only fought few people, and mostly I'm just reading through text. I'm not sure if I'm having fun yet. Am I doing it right?

Nope you start with tutorial and then arcade mode ;)

My Google Translate skills seem to be telling me that the developer behind Demon Gaze is working on a new "dungeon RPG" with a more traditional fantasy art style:

They are also hiring new staff to primarily work on "portable game machine game programs", so here's hoping...

Play the tutorial.

Demon Gaze was expected to sell 10k, and it sold 80k sooo...

Play the tutorial.

Yeah, I've definitely been messing around with that. But I suck. Can't do some of the most simple things, I guess. I hate fighting game tutorials, I guess. Oh well. I'll keep playing around with Story and do some arcade and hopefully start absorbing some stuff. I like the storyline so far.

I need to rearrange my apps since I've been using the photo and browser app, but get little use of most of the others. Just an initial reorg from last night before getting engrossed again in Guacamelee and Gravit Rush (ashamed to admit I never finished Gravity Rush and bought day 1).

So what was up with the FW notes saying something about PS Mobile saves being able to be uploaded.

I don't see them in Content Manager.

My college really messed something up with the internet because my Vita can't connect to it at all now. I had to plug it into my PS3 so it could download the firmware and its taken 10 minutes.

Great. Only got two more weeks though. Maybe its a sign to stop using it and finish up my work. :P

I am loving these folders; now I just wish you could quickly move the positions of whole pages along the ladder.

...it is true you can't do that, right?

They probably switched to wpa enterprise encryption. Vita does not supposrt that. if you have a laptop though, you can get around that. Download a software called Connectify to turn your laptop into an access point and you are good to go.

Yeah I've got my vita in front me right now and that looks like a no. Looks like you'll have a lot of rearranging to do!

Hi everyone. My name is Peter and I'm a new Vita owner.

*steps out of the light*

Er, yeah, scored the last Assassin's Creed bundle for $249 at my local Sony store!

However, I mostly purchased it for my sister, as I barely have time for portable gaming. That isn't to say, that I won't totally be borrowing it once in a while to play games like Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048, LBP, or Tearaway

Edit - Also, besides the random deals at Sony store, Best Buy still has the 16GB card for $30 and I managed to have it SHIPPED to my house. Muahaha...

Congrats on getting the better looking Vita and welcome to the club.

Nice, my friend! You enjoy that beauty!

I used a folder to dump the apps that I don't need (Facebook, Party Chat, Email, Welcome Park, etc).
