Were there any new voiced cutscenes in X-2 International?
I don't know. I never played it.
Were there any new voiced cutscenes in X-2 International?
X-2 is going to take more effort, no matter what. There was never an English release of it, like X: International, so all the International content in X-2 is going to have to be localized.
Were there any new voiced cutscenes in X-2 International?
In the Last Mission segment, yes. Dubbed in Japanese. Were there any new voiced cutscenes in X-2 International?
When it was voiced, yeah. There would still be a considerable amount of additional text to translate.Assuming we are talking about the same version, it was already in English mate
X had pre-rendered backgrounds in some parts have they released any shots of those parts?
There are still some pretty light people from Okinawa. Nakama Yukie and Shimabukuro Hiroko immediately come to mind.
Literally everything we know/have is in the OP. If we get a new screenshot batch, a new thread will be made.
I guess the lighter ones are the ones who get to become famous. (Sad but true; the regular-folks Okinawans I know all have much darker skin than Yukie Nakama, for example, does.)
Nah, Last Mission is almost like Re:Chain of Memories, a separate side-game included with the beefed up re-release of another game, though Last Mission isn't quite as meaty as Re:CoM.LM was on the disc for X-2: International when the game came out ten years out. It's no different from anything else. It's the removal of content and if they sell it later it'll be a gross move.
Assuming we are talking about the same version, it was already in English with Japanese subtitles. The exception was the last mission, which was Japanese only.

Translation isn't too hard if they don't need to record new voice material. But the monster capturing and training system and the monster arena stuff is going to have to be translated from scratch. And anything involving the new Dress Spheres and Garment Grids.
"My old man?!"
"My old man?!"
"My old man?!"
so many daddy issues
I can respect that, but if SE removes it from this re-release then that makes it's a gimped version in that respect. And really that's okay. I'm not dying to play it based on the impressions given since X-2 HD was confirmed.
What would offend me is trying to sell it later. Include it here as it was with International when it was first released or forget it entirely.
Why would it offend you? If you don't want it, don't buy it? If they feel that the content doesn't justify them putting resources into porting it for this release, but they feel that there are enough people who would be willing to buy it as a separate release later, what's wrong with that?
They can of course do whatever they want and I wouldn't buy it. I still think it's a little sleezy given it was included in the original package.
If they'll release the Last Mission as dlc I'll grumble a lil and will buy. Only if it's not available at all I won't be happy, not even close.
What is the "original package" though? They're not re-releasing a game again with something cut out. They're releasing a new enhanced package using material from previous releases. Unless there was a HD Remaster previously released with FFX, FFX-2, and Last Mission in one package which I'm not aware of?
I think it's pretty dumb to be "offended" over something which you admitted that you didn't even care for to begin with. If DLC is the only way they find it worthwhile to touch up Last Mission while porting it, I think people who actually want to play Last Mission would be happy with that. But when someone who doesn't even care for it declares that S-E should either release it in the package or "not at all", then that just seems... self righteous. Lol.
If would be less ironic if someone who actually wants to play Last Mission is pissed off that it's not in the package but released as DLC.![]()
Fair enough. I see what you're saying. I dunno, I don't think any re-release should have any sort of drawback if it can be helped. I feel like: International came out on PS2 with LM. Now it's (maybe) coming out on PS3 in HD without LM. But you can buy it for extra if you want!
The principle is what irks me. From a consumer standpoint, SE's reason for removing it is none of my concern. It's just a piece that's missing.
It's the same issue a lot of DLC has where people don't know the circumstances and just assume there's some sinister motive. And I get on people for that all the time, so sure; maybe you're right.
I think you've missed his point. He was referring to the international content of FFX that we had originally. I know I wouldn't be happy to have this cut out and sold seperately.
I absolutely agree that it would be in everyone's best interest to have as complete a package as possible. I don't think anyone would be happy that they would release something as DLC as opposed to including it in the package. That much is certainly true.
But if it were a choice between not having the content at all, and having it as DLC later on, I think that becomes a different situation. Personally, I own FFX-2I+LM, and I've been telling people that LM is garbage and no one is really missing out, so I wouldn't really care one bit if it's missing from the original release. But there are people who want to at least try LM out, so I certainly wouldn't say "I hope they never release at all!" either.![]()
They say Last Mission is terrible so you don't need to worry about that.

That's crazy talk. How can you even have this opinion ? By this reasoning, you'd be okay with a publisher mutilating an already-released game in order to sell it in pieces. So it would be okay for Square to sell Final Fantasy X HD without Blitzball, the Monster Arena, the Omega Temple or the ultimate weapons, all things that were in the original game ? And if Square were to resell you these at 3$ a pop, you'd be okay with this ?
I'm sorry, but that's sleazy scumbag talk to me. It's the kind of thing you'd expect from Activision or EA; not someone from Neogaf who's used to getting fucked by these companies.
Last Mission is not really part of FFX-2 International. It's a separate game with a different gameplay system. It's not another mode of FFX-2 I or a mini game in the game itself.
Has there ever been a version of FF X without blizzball or the ultimate weapons? No. Has there been a version of FF X-2 without the Last Mission? Yes.That's crazy talk. What do you mean by this ? That it has a different executable or something ? Because if not: it's part of X-2. Blitzball also has different gameplay than the rest of the game; it doesn't make it any less worthy of being included in the HD rerelease.
Has there ever been a version of FF X without blizzball or the ultimate weapons? No. Has there been a version of FF X-2 without the Last Mission? Yes.
So the situation isn't comparable at all.
Yes, it's a totally different game. When you boot up FFX-2I+LM, you get a boot screen where you can select FFX-2 International, Last Mission, or Special Features. Last Mission is not a part of FFX-2 International which you access within the game.![]()
I've got a surprise for you: the version of X-2 that is being HDified is the International version, which contains The Last Mission. Rejoice !
I would laugh so hard if this sold way more than LR
All but guaranteed, although LR will hit bargain bin within the month.

If I've understood it correctly, it's a shitty dungeon crawler with some gossipy cutscenes sprinkled in a few points of the game where they talk about how different people are doing post X-2's endingWhat exactly is Last Mission in FFX-2?

It's basically YRP/Yuripa's Mysterious Dungeon.
Think Chocobo Mysterious Dungeon, Shiren or Izana (those DS games).
It's almost certainly not true.If the DLC package thing ends up being true, Squeenix just saved me some money.

I could definitely see this being true.I would laugh so hard if this sold way more than LR
