Thats rather subjective isn't it? MOST seems rather debatable. I'd thing Wonder Woman would be the most famous female character in comic books.

Yeah, she and Joker deserved their spot. Only Harley and Bane didn't deserve a spot.

That's right. Deadpool was ripped from Deathstroke. But they're obviously waay completely different characters.

Yeah, please no more Batman characters. These games are great for introducing low profile characters or characters that didn't get the big exposure through all the 90's cartoons to the masses, so I hope NRS and WB use this opportunity just like Marvel does for the vs games. People were hyped for Rocket Raccoon to be in GotG because they were first introduced to him in Marvel 3. Hawkeye got more exposure before Avengers. People know who Doctor Strange, Nova, Iron Fist, Taskmaster and M.O.D.O.K. are now and that's cool.
Personally I'd LOVE to see more JSA representation in the cast.
If the source material was more appealing to larger audiences, then you would see more of those characters. Marvel franchises don't have this issue. This game has plenty of characters that are as obscure or even more obscure than Taskmaster.

Are you serious? Most of the characters in Injustice have had popular appearances in other media outside of comics. I can't think of a single one who I'd list as more obscure than Taskmaster.
MvC3, on the other hand, has goddamn Rocket Raccoon.

In theory, it'd work like that, but DC tends to have a problem finding great creators to work of their IP when it's not batman or batman-related or batman-initiated. That isn't to say they haven't messed up with Batman(Joel plz), or that they haven't succeeded elsewhere (R.I.P. Young Justice). It's just that most of their well-received, critically-acclaimed cartoons, movies, and video games have had "Batman" in the title for whatever reason.
Why can they get talented artists on Batman but not other properties in the mainstream? You ought to ask that. Hopefully, Man of Steel seems to be a turning point.
Yes I am serious. You may know of these characters but the casual audience or even many casual comic fans don't.

Counting just the Marvel side of things, in Ultimate:
Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Iron Fist, Taskmaster, MODOK, Dormammu, Super Skrull, X-23 and Shuma-Gorath are characters only those with a good comic book knowledge will know about.
Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Deadpool and Sentinel are better known, but still not quite famous for non-readers. Hawkeye and Deadpool might be a tier above the rest.
Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Magneto, Captain America, Storm, Phoenix, Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Dr. Doom are known even by those who aren't big comic geeks.
Now, in Injustice:
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Joker, Catwoman, Lex Luthor, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman are all known by not comic book readers.
Nightwing, Harley and Bane are just below. You might even include Green Arrow here.
Shazam, Black Adam, Doomsday, Deathstroke, Sinestro, Cyborg, Hawkgirl and Raven are known by those who read comic even casually. You could probably include Grundy here as well, especially after Arkham City.
Which leaves... Killer Frost and Ares as obscure.
And no, if you know the character just because of the fighting games, it doesn't count. DC has had two modern fighting games with this one.
Other than Killer Frost and maybe Ares and Black Adam all the characters are well known. Killer Frost is also the only character a comic reader might not know but a cartoon watcher will.

I'm assuming most people interested in this game will have watched some of the cartoons or seen a movie. Not even taking in to account the comics. I'd say more than 3/4 of the cast appeared in either JL, JLU, or Batman.

I still only have new52 Hal and Knightfall Bane unlocked lol. I'm gonna still try for at least Terry McGinnis but I waste my points on gold booster packs whenever I reach 75k and I get everyone BUT Joker or Batman. I'm gonna try again after the game hits, Black Adam Regime is my highest leveled character, but his super is killing the muscles in my forearm, literally. Don't want any permanent damage there.

Agreed, the title Arkham already has ties to an existing and successful franchise too. For the average consumer, unless you know a bunch about the game, buying something called 'Injustice: Gods Among Us' could easily get confusing if you're looking to find a DC fighting game. Probably one of the reasons MK vs DC was so successful, blatant and obvious what you're buying in the title. Just a minor gripe tho.
This. Iron Man was a nobody before Robert Downey Jr. Ask a few modern fans to name off five of Iron Man's villains. I guarantee that the majority would have a hard time naming even one.

DC is trying though, but they keep falling back on Batman. That fear of failure is keeping a good portion outside of Gotham from seeing the light of day (ironic cuz Batman comics are usually at night).
