Is Soul Sacrifice really that good? Debating getting another Vita for it, but just dont want to be let down... Is it like Monster Hunter? I like Monster Hunter and Dark Souls so I am not adverse to animation heavy games.

I don't think Capcom really sees SS as 'competition', considering they are not even on the same platforms.

Apparently not. No grinding is one difference.

I'm playing the JP version. If you like those games I think it's very safe to say you will like Soul Sacrifice. It's a bit like the gameplay of MH with the dark setting of DS. Of course, there are many differences regarding both aspects, but generally speaking, yeah.

From playing the demo, SS doesn't have the game kind of controls. Combat is more responsive than MonHan, it's quite fast, but enemies are less aggressive.

IMO it's not such a big and important game, but everyone who seems to dislike MonHan's tank controls loves it like the holy grail.

I really wish people would stop comparing Soul Sacrifice to Monster Hunter. :

SS to Dark Souls too... Unless were talking strictly art-direction...

SS demo felt a little like Bounty Hounds to me.

I get the impression its a case of you being able to play through the game without grinding just fine but if you want the best gear / spells then you will need to grind somewhat. That the type of experience I had with GEB as well. MH you basically have to grind to advance.

Seeing the amount of times that's been asked without answer I'm going to assume bumping yours will be better. It'll remind people that played the JPN demo (and can contribute with advice) as well.
 
Ah good. I was worried the demo would only come out in the US. Will set the download off after work.

I am enjoying VLR. I basically do a puzzle room with my wife then she falls asleep and I watch the story.

I so far have had 1 to be continued and 1 game over. Neither is at the end of a tree. I assume that as you do more branches those will later be able to be continued?
 
Although I'm betting it's widely known, one cheat I figured out in Jetpack Joyride is that if you manually quit a run, the vehicle you get using the Free Ride powerup is always the same. So for missions that involve destroying a specific vehicle 3/5 times, all you need to do is suicide with the Free Ride powerup until you get it at the start, and then every time you blow up the vehicle manually retry that run.

Yes, the "locked gates" will open once you've completed other branches, and you should be able to see when they've been unlocked on the flowchart.
 
So i went to bed no SS demo. Wake up on WEDNESDAY morning and decide to start SS demo download before going to work so it would be ready when i get home.

Whats going on Ms. Chen? SS demo break your systems? Seriously, how many years of PSN and these updates are still ran like they are done by new people hired 4 hours ago. How is it even possible to run a system so incredibly horribly after so many years?
