You know what would be freaking amazing? If they had circle pad pro compatibility that would allow free camera movement. I don't care for top down gameplay, so that would be a godsend.
Delicious magic meter.
3D is absolutely fine as long as it doesn't scream "half-assed effort".No, it's all about sprites. Anything that's not sprites is 'garbage'.
After a short delay helping a narcoleptic flying whale, Link finally returns to Hyrule to find the land he once saved has become a giant crater. Hearing laughter behind him, Link turns around to see his friend, the bug-catching kid, with a mischievous grin on his face. Before Link can inquire about the scale model of Hyrule in the bottle the bug-catching kid is holding there is a blinding flash and Link blacks out. When he awakens, Link finds himself laying in front of his uncle's house. What is going on?
I think you messed the best deal a couple weeks ago where the xl was like $160 at target or something like that
It looks like Minish Cap in 3D to me.
Why is appealing to nostalgia sad?
I want them to do this. It's not like many others can.
Wow.
But that camera angle looks off. LttP had a more isometric look. It's actually making me a little dizzy or something.
Wait.... You mean to say Nintendo can't please everyone? That people who buy Nintendo games number in the millions and each has their own specific tastes and perspectives? MIND=BLOWN.You could make that same of any zelda game... That said, Nintendo can't win with the Zelda series. They try something new? Then it's not the same. Go back and make the game more traditional? Then it's just the "same old same old" and "a quick cash grab".
Golly, this thread brings out the fanboy in me more than anything.
There always a few who are never excited for anything unless it personally gives them a handjob.

This is amazing.
What. It would still be a top-down image even if you spin it around.
The camera should probably be at a lower angle.
3D is absolutely fine as long as it doesn't scream "half-assed effort".
The NSMB comparisons are spot on imo.
... Um, no, I don't mean just spinning it around.
It wouldn't be much work to implement, the camera already breaks out of top down when you switch to paper Link mode.

I just died
It really looks like Nintendo started out making a Link to the Past remake, but decided to change things up a bit and instead decided to make a Master Quest for Link to the Past in 3D. It really does look like it's just going to be a Link to the Past with the same overworld and same bosses but new dungeons. Maybe they set expectations too high by calling it Link to the Past 2 and should have just called it Link to the Past: Master Quest.
Same here. My last Nintendo machine was the GBA (been a Sony/PC gamer ever since) but this....this has me interested. Urge to dust off the old SNES and GBA rising.....
My condolences. When's the funeral?
Amazing how the 2D artwork just pops and looks a helluva lot more compelling than the NSMB treatment its given on the left.
This post of yours is just as useless. Learn how to take a joke. :lol
I am now a ghost with a raging boner
Duckroll, take a joke? Hahaha.

The assets are probably not there for free camera controls.
You mean you want it to be a 3D Zelda?![]()

Not enough devs go for cel-shading on the 3DS when it would work really really well.
You sound bitter.![]()
It's not inherently, it's sad that it seems that's the only thing Nintendo can do these days.

A Link to the Past is the finest game of them all. Certainly the most popular great game of all time. The most beloved. Its command of gameplay, the most magnificent. It transformed the pain of its development into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world. No one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild game who roamed the shelves of the SNES section, was not only the worlds greatest game, but also one of the greatest things that has ever been made.
Not letting it go to waste.
I hear a lot of people either
A) Praising
or
B) Complaining about
The fact that this is set in the same world. This doesn't equate to being set in the same overworld as Link to the Past. For all we know, the bulk of the game could be set in the Sacred Realm. Or it could pull a Zelda 2 on us and have us explore a different part of the map.
So before anyone gets too excited or too upset, I think we should wait for more info.
Yes, I'd love for the option to be there. I can't see a good reason why not.
I FEEL LIKE ISAMU ON METH!!

Sure they are. More than likely this is the same engine as OoT 3D.
Like I said, the camera already works in a non top down fashion when you go into paper Link mode.
