Totally a tangent and not for nothing but in some jurisdiction, use of marijuana is indeed a criminal offense. In Nevada for example, possession of under a certain amount is a misdemeanor but use (of any amount) is a felony.

"Smoking Blunts" is not the same as saying "Yea me and dude bought a bag of kushy marijuana just last week"

They weren't Muslim. They were Russians.
Watch some jerkoff start saying and associating Russians and the Soviet Union rising again.

Pretty sure he is Muslim. His twitter has a post where he defends Islam. Well, more like dismisses people who associate Islam with terrorism as idiots. Not to mention he's from Chechnya.

1 + 1 = ?

Sure it's not confirmed, but it's at the very least highly possible. Even probable.

Shows like CSI have completely ruined people's expectations for crime solving. Cases and manhunts aren't decided in 30 minutes and you don't need magic DNA evidence to get convictions in every trial.

It took 3 or 4 months to catch McVeigh, and he was only arrested on a routine road stop for a license plate violation; he voluntarily admitted to having a gun on him which he was booked for, and it was only like a week later in jail that he was identified as the suspect for the Murrah building bombing.

So comparatively this has moved quite quickly.

"Smoking blunts" isn't illegal. What would the crime be? Now whether that admission would give probable cause to search someone for possession is another question entirely.

Yeah, the actual act of using drugs isn't illegal. It's if you possess, deliver or distribute them. I guess you could make the case that they technically possessed marijuana, but a blunt would likely be simple possession. Besides, police have more important things to worry about. They tend to go after the guys that deal and distribute the pot, not the potheads that smoke it, unless he's got like a growing operation going in his house or something or he's sitting on a giant stash.

Everyone was saying this about Dorner that he had this amazing commando knowledge of everything and was playing everyone but really in the end he didn't and I think it's the same except even more so with this kid.

And as others have pointed out, police backed off after the initial shootout because of the explosives. It must have gave him a small window of time to get out of the area or hole up somewhere.

WBZ radio Boston just reported seeing a tank with a soldier manning the machine gun on top.

Da fuck?

They are probably confusing armored vehicle with tank.

And yes there were armored vehicles on the scene with MG gunners.

It's hilarious, and predictable, seeing people trying to associate these guys as Russians and not Muslims.

As if these acts were done for glorious Mother Russia (most Chechens HATE Russia and want nothing to do with Russia) and not based on verses from the Quran.

Ah, that pesky Quran, always telling people they should kill Americans. Could you cite the verses please?

Any Russians in this thread? How much of a threat is Islamic extremism in the caucasus region? I ask because the FBI were rumoured to be studying links between these two terrorists and Al Qaeida.

Chechnya vs Russia started out as a nationalistic battle and when that failed the Islamic fundamentalists took over when the secular battles failed. They used Islam as an excuse for independence and still do. Most chechans just want peace but not these fundamentalists, they want war to gain peace

I love how The Onion is just sitting back and dropping things here and there like:

"BREAKING: Has the word 'breaking' lost its meaning?"

This is what happens when you fuck with the United States:

*WARNING EXTREMELY NSFW PICTURE OF SUSPECT 1 DECEASED*

*END WARNING*[/U]
For the ones scared to watch the picture, it's not really that gory.
His face and body are red and bloody but it's all cleaned up.
Head and Face are intact and you can clearly see it's the same person.
One small bullet one, a medium Gaping hole on his left rib side (possible surgical)

It's still a person that died a violent sudden dead, so proceed at risk.

The older brother had so much going for him. Why did he do it?

He looks ripped as hell in that picture where he's sparring with dat ass.

Some people just hate America and all that it represents. I'm sad that this great country receive them with open arms and they just cause harm and death to the locals.

One quick question, The suspect had a weird name, where is he from? I though he was Greek at first but I can't figure out the race of suspect though. He looks Israeli and the suspect one slightly Indian or Arab. But they seemed mixed enough that I can't tell for sure.

Edit: OH Russian.

Russia has been in a vicious war with islamic separatists in caucasus for years and russian intelligence have pinned chechnyan islamists for several terror events, plus russian army pretty much bombed Chechnya to stone age. Putin has been riding the 'hard man against the terrorists' theme with these guys for years, which helped him cement his power.

Admitting to having taken drugs at some point is not possession.
Do you mean to be replying to some related post in the chain, talking about admitting something or what possession is?

I was replying to Stump saying "'smoking blunts' is not a crime"; in some jurisdictions use (distinct from possession) is crime, typically one carrying a more severe punishment. It is of course rather difficult to prosecute on in many cases.

"Admitting" something obviously isn't possession or use or anything criminal or punishable to any extent. For that matter, it might shock some of you to learn that lying on national television isn't a criminal offense.

That is not justice, that is only revenge.
Justice would be to finding him guilty beyond doubt in a court of law.

Even if it is just a show trial and no sentence can be handed out, it would be a testament to the justice system of the USA.

No, it wouldn't be. A foregone conviction of a dead guy who can't defend himself is not justice. And the end result would be him being sentenced to death. While it would be ideally preferable for him to have lived and had due process, nothing of real significance has been lost here.
