Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Yea I would say you're alone. They need people off the streets and everything to be as much under control as possible so this guy doesn't get away.

Exactly, shutting down transportation and telling everyone to get off the streets makes their job a lot easier. They can move around freely, anybody else moving around sticks out like a sore thumb. The guy can't go to anyone's house without being recognized. His time is short, one way or another. Hopefully it ends well so they get more information.

I can just imagine some guy sitting in his house smoking a joint and then looking out his window and a fucking army of cops are right outside. Then a SWAT team knocks wanting to look around the house lol.

So every single night someone it shot to death in Chicago. Does that mean they should have "troops" rolling through the streets of that city to make sure not one more person gets shot tonight?

Bombs make it different. There's been speculation that they've planted other bombs, they also attempted to throw explosive devices at police and have killed 4 people and have injured another 100+. They've committed armed robbery, grand theft auto, and kidnapping on top. Shootings are not considered terrorism, but bombings are, so now you've also involved the Department of Homeland Security. Also, the bombings hit nationals from other nations so it wasn't straight "American on American" gun violence that exists everyday.

This situation definitely warrants a full court press.

If you fail to understand that there is a substantive difference between a street crime and this situation, then I'm afraid there is very little I or anyone else can do for you.

Hey guys, sorry to ask but I just got back up now and I'm trying to connect to the scanner through TuneIn. It's not working for me at all (whereas it was yesterday). Do you have a link you can recommend?

You're an idiot. So far since last night they killed a cop injured 15, threw a pressure cooker bomb into the street, threw many other explosives, got into the biggest firefight I've ever heard outside of a war zone......and it should be treated like any other police incident. Give me a fucking break.

wow i stopped lurking this thread at around 5am pacific time. we were at page 123 and now at 250. they still haven't found this fucker yet?

Did you forget about the two bombs set off and murdered cop? There's no telling what contingencies this guy had laid out with his now dead brother.

Technically only Watertown is locked down. The other places were advised by the state but you can go out if you like.

It's different. A random killing is an attack against a person, either gangs, self defense, a mugger etc... Terrorism is an attack against the country. It's serious business.

There's a difference between a single gun death (whether gang-related or not) and an armed, desperate, murderous, psychotic terrorist cop-killer carrying explosives and firearms on his person who is perfectly willing to use them against any target in his way, police or civilian.

I can't even understand your line of thinking.

Did someone read this arcticle ? Is it valid ?

This is the same shit from Alex Jones / Prison Planet / InfoWars over the last week. There are always private / plain clothes security at major events like this. That might bother some people, but the jump to false flag conspiracy theory is a big jump.

Been lurking since this started, but figure I'll drop in here.

It's a tragedy anytime someone is killed. But they bombed a prolific and public event. The only reason that there weren't many more fatalities is because it didn't spread shrapnel as far as it was supposed to.

Last night, they committed armed robbery, cold blooded murder, carjacked someone, got in a car chase, chucked grenades and another bomb like the Boston one at cops (that thankfully failed), and one is still at large.

They've terrorized the city. I get what you're saying in terms of force, but this has to stop.

Any Russians in this thread? How much of a threat is Islamic extremism in the caucasus region? I ask because the FBI were rumoured to be studying links between these two terrorists and Al Qaeida.
I would put them along side of dangerous thugs. They don't really do this out of religion, they don't care about human life, all they care is revenge and vengeance. One would say they are savages who wouldn't think twice about pulling the trigger.
When they had a photo of the 2nd suspect from the top, I thought it looked like someone from Tajikistan, very similar facial features to the people o the region. Also his manerisms as he walked down the street and the fact that he had his cap turned backwards speaks to that thug appearance and behavior.
And yes, the Chechen rebels have ties with Al-Qaeda specifically when it came to funding and training.

because in this instance it was a random act of bombing...
Seriously dude, we had a kid running around our town who may have explosives, killed 3 people, injured 140+, and killed a cop with his brother last night.

but no, I see how your comparison makes sense.

So... If they don't find the guy by next week, should Boston still be in lockdown?

Is the price you're willing to pay to feel safe truly limitless, or are you just posing?

Random shootings in a big city aren't quite the same thing as a string of bombings potentially connected to a cell of accomplices of unknown origin, number, equipment, and prep time.

One might assume one reason for the manhunt is to take this guy alive before he - and any further members of a network - get away in order to try to extract intelligence. Despite this guy being a 19 year old kid, the problem is there's a real possibility he represents a lot more than just a stupid kid with a gun and a homemade pipe bomb.

I know this guy is dangerous but man, I'm not cool with this level of martial law. If they don't get him soon I have no doubt a curfew will be announced.

“I don’t have a single American friend. I don’t understand them,” Tsarnaev told Kirn.

“Tamerlan says he doesn’t drink or smoke anymore: ‘God said no alcohol.’ A Muslim [SIC], he says: ‘There are no values anymore,’ and worries that ‘people can’t control themselves.’”

“Tamerlan says he doesn’t usually take his shirt off so girls don’t get bad ideas,” according to one of Kirn’s captions. “I’m very religious.”
