Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Just watched the interview on CNN. People really loved him...
Just wondering. What are the chances they really did get the wrong guy? What if he really is just a scapegoat to calm down the many people who are angered?

Martial law in essence, to catch one guy. Sad.

Yeah, one guy who could be charged with over 1,000 cases of attempted murder.
Could be charged with murdering 3 people.
Could be charged with attempted murder on 15+ cops.
Could be charged with murdering 1 cop.
Could be charged with at least 2 cases of grand theft auto
Could be charged with 1 case of armed robbery

And he's got explosives.

Maybe it's just me, but these photos make me feel kind of bad. Despite the fact that it's important to find this guy, I don't think think it justifies the extent of an event this has become via locking down whole of Boston with enormous amounts of police and soldiers, and going thoroughly through every random person's private residences.

So what should they do? If you are going to complain, suggest an alternative.

One thing that I just realized is that we have gotten plenty of information about the younger punk, but what about the dead one. Did he work somewhere? How did he live in one of the most expensive cities in America? Which brings me to my point based on that, these guys must have had others that were assisting them financially and to train them how to build the bombs.

Pretty much nil. Even in the absurdly unlikely event that he wasn't the original bomber, he's been recorded doing plenty of other shit.

Bombs make it different. There's been speculation that they've planted other bombs, they also attempted to throw explosive devices at police and have killed 4 people and have injured another 100+. They've committed armed robbery, grand theft auto, and kidnapping on top. Shootings are not considered terrorism, but bombings are, so now you've also involved the Department of Homeland Security. Also, the bombings hit nationals from other nations so it wasn't straight "American on American" gun violence that exists everyday.

This situation definitely warrants a full court press.

You're right about the bombs. I guess I'm just assuming that this kid on the run couldn't have access to much in terms of explosives.

Like um, why are the cops wasting their time with this? I'm sure a phone call or a carefully worded letter would've made these two guys turn themselves in. I mean, I wasn't at the marathon, why should my tax money get spent on trying to find these guys?

Edit: Apparently even this blatant sarcasm can be misunderstood. But then again, what should I have expected considering most people here are believing all the BS that 4chan/CNN/reddit puts out and asks for more.

Something I find strange is that everyone finds them to be totally normal guys. But then no one seems to have talked to either of them in over a year, particularly the younger brother who seems to have actually had a social life previously. That's a long time to be off the grid to most the people you know.

I'll just say before more people lose their shit over family and friends making what seems like insane statements about a person. They are dealing with utter shock and disbelief and it's probably their way of coping. It's easier to at the moment rely on the memories of what a person has done than what the media and the world is telling you.

At some point it'll sink in, but don't be assholes because people are trying to 'remember' a friend they way they knew him.

I would probably react the same way.

Allegedly responsible. Kind of a big deal as well.

Oh FFS. He's shot at cops, thrown bombs, been caught on camera... he's not "allegedly" responsible in any sense but the legal sense, which doesn't matter until he's caught.

They could have gunned him down multiple times by now and done it legally and justifiably.

He was throwing explosives out the window at cops. That would be one hell of a coincidence.

If they walked in a random dude's house and found lines of coke right now they probably would not give a shit. These guys are worried about explosive devices and artillery and who knows what else

Mostly referring to the paranoia the dude smoking a joint would feel, not saying he'd get arrested

Are you fucking serious ?

Thanks for posting. Honestly it's a shame we never got a picture like this of Osama Bin Laden. The American public deserves to see these things to give proper closure.

I doubt seeing a dead body will give most people closure. That's kind of sick.

Martial law in essence, to catch one guy. Sad.

"Typically, the imposition of martial law accompanies curfews, the suspension of civil law, civil rights, habeas corpus, and the application or extension of military law or military justice to civilians. Civilians defying martial law may be subjected to military tribunal (court-martial)."

Literally none of these things are in effect in Boston. They're recommending people stay inside. The military is there. That's it.

Car with "circuit boards." I dunno. My car has circuit boards in the trunk... Got a Raspberry pi in there, but, still. Just dont want to get my hopes up that they're closer only to see this not happen

Off topic but this guy looks fucking awesome. Fantastic picture.
I was thinking the same thing LOL

First of all, it is NOT martial law. Maybe something similar is in the Watertown in the crime scene perimeter, but that's understandable. I'm in the City of Boston and there are much more cars on the street, people walking around. I'm going for a walk as well.
