Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Something I find strange is that everyone finds them to be totally normal guys. But then no one seems to have talked to either of them in over a year, particularly the younger brother who seems to have actually had a social life previously. That's a long time to be off the grid to most the people you know.

It's just some of their family members who haven't seen them. They're known to their friends.

Like um, why are the cops wasting their time with this? I'm sure a phone call or a carefully worded letter would've made these two guys turn themselves in. I mean, I wasn't at the marathon, why should my tax money get spent on trying to find these guys?

Uhm...lol

My head hurts from this post.

There's a big difference between just after the incident and a week later.
Then I'm at a bit of a loss why it's improper to discuss whether the balance between safety and liberty has been distorted, since we both agree in principle that there IS a balance.

What the fuck is wrong with you

Martial law in essence, to catch one guy. Sad.

What else are they gonna do in Watertown? They need that town seeled off. It's not like all of Boston is under lockdown. We are just being advised to stay indoors in proper Boston, but there are a lot of people playing catch and tennis right across my dorm with several cars driving by. I'm in the middle of Boston. Hell I'm about to go to the park across the street.

Yeah, uncles and aunts haven't seen them in years, don't know which school they go to, eventhough they live close. But they are totally nice, of course!

Because the other poster said this should be treated like an everyday Chicago murder. That's what I was responding to.

Man I kind of feel sorry for the guy who's interviewed on CNN right now. They're bombarding him with stupid questions and he barely speaks english

Just watched the interview on CNN. People really loved him...
Just wondering. What are the chances they really did get the wrong guy? What if he really is just a scapegoat to calm down the many people who are angered?

There is 0% chance that is the case. Someone might have had a chance to sell that story if last night didn't exist.

"hello, murderers. Hi, good afternnon. This is FBI. How are you doing today?"

lol

Allegedly responsible. Kind of a big deal as well.

Right, "allegedly". Well, considering they (FBI/Boston PD) have footage and witnesses of them committing various violent murderous acts and they have his brother's dead corpse riddled with bullets, and the fact that more people would be in greater danger if they didn't use all resources at their disposal to track the "alleged" armed lunatic, what do you think would be more irresponsible? Shutting down the city for a day to find and stop him or taking a feather light approach where he can slip away or do something else horrific?
