Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Like um, why are the cops wasting their time with this? I'm sure a phone call or a carefully worded letter would've made these two guys turn themselves in. I mean, I wasn't at the marathon, why should my tax money get spent on trying to find these guys?

This is a joke I assume. Who exactly are they calling or...writing a letter to?

Yeah, uncles and aunts haven't seen them in years, don't know which school they go to, eventhough they live close. But they are totally nice, of course!

I have quite a few aunts/uncles I go years without ever seeing or talking to

Although similarly they don't know squat about me or my personality

If they find anything illegal unrelated to this like drugs, they better not come back to prosecute them after all this.

Highly, HIGHLY, doubtful. They would have to find something severe like a mutilated body. If someone is consenting them to search their house, they're (I'm assuming here obviously) probably grateful for the hassle they're saving them from saying no and having to go through the process of forcing, via legal methods, their way in and searching.

sigh

So every single night someone it shot to death in Chicago. Does that mean they should have "troops" rolling through the streets of that city to make sure not one more person gets shot tonight?

Yes because this is the same situation as just someone shooting another. Not like he may have explosives. Nope.

A lot of talk about civil liberties all of a sudden in this thread. It wasn't like this four/five hours ago. I don't know why, I couldn't care less about that right now. Who gives a flying f about house searches? Just catch the guy.

After listening to them for almost half a day now, to conclusion I've arrived at is that Boston PD (and the peripheral law enforcement) is awesome. They seem to actually care about public safety; they put that first unlike, say, the LAPD, which puts the LAPD first, second, third, fourth, and fifth (see: Dorner).

He is a dangerous terrorist at large in the city. The City itself it's a risk, he will run over people without hesitation, pull the trigger on young kids without a second though. The kid is dangerous.

People Can't Control Themselves

Spends a ton of money on one outfit

Color me shocked that someone so self consumed could only see fault in others and not himself. Shocked...

As far as "hot mic" or "open mic" goes...

With my agency, a deputy's radio can override dispatch's radio so we can broadcast in case of emergency. However, if a mic is left open, NO ONE can broadcast, thus creating an officer safety issue.

If their's isn't like that, then its just annoying and possibly broadcasting things that you'd rather not have out there. Be it sensitive Intel or crusty language.

Allegedly responsible. Kind of a big deal as well.

Oh. So because it hasn't been proven in court beyond a reasonable doubt yet, that in some way negates the current large scale attempts to apprehend this alleged terrorist?

You new juniors really are something special.

What the fuck?

I'm sure you've been reamed by other posters, but you have to be fucking idiotic to think that we're wasting tax dollars going after terrorists armed with guns, grenades, and IEDs who have already killed several people and injured hundreds.

18-19 is the perfect age for becoming political and getting involved with the wrong people. I remember when I was that age I started to actually care about politics. I described myself as a Libertarian and would probably complain about the government "illegally" searching more than anything else in this situation. Glad I grew out of that.

You think they're going to stop and give a shit because some kid has his bong out on the coffee table? They are there for one reason and aren't wasting their time with anything else.

I highly doubt anyone is going to refuse them entry, and if they do they'll have the house surrounded and get a warrant in seconds.

You can really tell if someone is a complete ego maniac when they say something along the lines of he can't take his shirt off in front of women bacause they'll just jump on his dick to have immediate sex with him

What is really scary/depressing about this manhunt is that the longer it goes on, the bigger the chance of someone getting inspired to do something this for the publicity/thrill alone.

I really hope they catch him by the end of the night.

Just watched the interview on CNN. People really loved him...
Just wondering. What are the chances they really did get the wrong guy? What if he really is just a scapegoat to calm down the many people who are angered?

From everything I've seen, I would say his older brother forced / tricked him in to it (the bombing), but that is just a theory. His older brother was the religious one, and he doesn't seem very religious based on his twitter and friends reports.

Of course, after the bombing it was too late for him to turn back and no excuses for what happened today (even if it was his brother that killed the cop... do we know which one did it?).

Serious question - do you have some sort of cognitive problem that you were born with or received from an accident?

EDIT: replied to a sarcastic post.

Man I kind of feel sorry for the guy who's interviewed on CNN right now. They're bombarding him with stupid questions and he barely speaks english

I dropped my mouth when they asked "what do you think is going to happen to him" and he replies "theyre going to kill him".

Riveting stuff. Surreal really.

He was posting sarcasm. Probably shouldn't in a serious thread moving so fast
