Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Is anyone else expecting some "Dark Knight" esque civilian attempts to kill this guy? Boston does not seem like the type of city to just let the courts handle this. Obviously he's going to be under crazy protection and surveillance, but the next couple weeks are going to be crazy interesting.

What? In Boston you need a license to even buy pepper spray/mace. It's about the least likely city to do anything, except maybe a few in California.

Or a Dicky Chug. A drink container of sorts.

I think you've hit the dick on the head, looks the same.

Reality states that most folks involved have better things to do like get on with their lives. Which usually is the case with most tragedies like this.

Why should it what? Be a federal case?

Terrorist attacks are considered an act of war against a country.

I mean ultimately the death sentence, people in the state obviously have voted that they don't want to punish their criminals in that way. Although I'm getting ahead of myself, and don't know how the trial will look. Too early to speculate.

Ok ok, as I said earlier this was my naive "never been there only ever seen it on TV/movies/rap songs" point of view. I didn't mean it in a bad way anyways.

Clearly?

You are projecting, dude. There's nothing clear about the situation.
Brace yourself as you'll read a lot of these sympathizing/self-rationalizing posts. There have been a few already and it's only going to augment as we move from the actual crime towards the courts. :-/

It's not up to the state, I really don't get your point.

I'm convinced he got into contact with some people though. And the FBI having interviewed him before under the request of a foreign government would indicate this.

Yep too convenient that 2 years ago Russia alerts the US about him. Then last year he spends 6 months in the region likely being trained.

This is where the feds fucked up. Even if they cleared him 2 years ago a foreign Nation flagging someone as a potential danger should be enough to question why he went to a terrorist training region for half a year when he came back.

His Aunt stated he was very normal until he got married then once he got married he started to change praying 5 times a day etc when that wasn't him prior.

I honestly think it was pressure. He wasn't religious at all.

And you know this because you know the guy personally right?

Truthfully Id say we all are just going to have to wait and see what comes from the investigation once he makes his recovery and if he is willing / does talk to the authorities.

Trying to make him seem less or more guilty is silly on both accounts at this point.

No one is justifying any actions. The kid is responsible for everything he did, but I think it is apparent on the eveidence so far, to speculate he was not like his brother. We could be wrong, but nothing wrong with speculating in this case.

You mess with America, or any country for that matter, and kill innocent people, even children with no mercy or remorse for your actions, and you better not expect to get away with it, and you better be prepared to suffer for the remainder of your life.

Anybody saying how young he looks or how he still looks like a child should keep in mind that all of us here, especially those of us 19 and over, sure as hell knew not to do what he did at that age. He did what he did and he enjoyed it, and now we get to have the pleasure of watching the person that knowingly hurt innocent people, even children, pay the price that scum of that nature deserves.

That guy at MIT, just doing his job, not bothering anybody. He didn't deserve this.
