I missed a lot it seems from my last post to now. Thoughts:
- I didn't even think that those #TeamVagina things were anything more than parody. As someone who had female characters dominating his votes, it was more about their gameplay (and in the case of Eliza, her design and gameplay were awesome) winning out in my eyes than some weird "take that" to getting more Skullguys or serving up "ironic justice" to people who liked/wanted more of the guy characters over more girls.
- I like the idea of accelerated rounds and liked the updated rules Ravi's putting out for part two. I'm just wondering if a 3 day period would be better than the 2 days there. You'd get the main force in the 48 hour span as has been the trend and the stragglers would get an extra day to filter in. I also like the approach of voting for the characters, although I'd kinda miss the phases of barganing with each other and the different #Teams forming to get the votes together. This style would make it an all out "them or us" which could be really fun to watch unfold. :lol
What in the fuck is Moe and why does it matter? I don't even like Minette's design or how she is "going to play", but even she has interesting mechanics. Everyone in the top 5 does.
From what I understand about this slippery slope that is the word moe:
Lit: A Japanese-ism describing a strong feeling of wanting to protect/defend something you see as worth it. Usually used as a description for characters of this archetype in anime fandom. The internet however, latched onto it as a catch all descriptor for little girl/childish acting/overly clumsy characters because of the base similarities between those types of characters and the actual connotation of the word.
Agreed on everything else you said too by the way. While I've pretty heavy handedly thrown my chip in with Annie and Eliza overall, this isn't because the other 30-aught characters aren't worth the time, but because out of them all, I'd like to see these two first. Heh, sometimes I'm wondering if the sentiment of "voting for them because we aren't sure if we'll see them again" didn't kinda up the ante on all the feelings, bitter or no, we've seen when people lost picks going up in the polls.
