Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Your point is? Sony has time to turn things around.

Exactly. I don't know why people expect VIta's momentum to be the same as the 3DS when the 3DS has had an extra year to recover from its mistakes. I can tell you, as a 3DS ambassador, there was NOTHING available for that handheld until about 3 months ago with the release of Fire Emblem. Everything else was either shovelware or a port(and even then other than SFIV and Zelda, the ports weren't even that good) Within the same time span, the vita has had more games available for it to play. I think it's really short sighted to expect the Vita to have pound for pound the same number of announcements as the 3DS when the system has been out for roughly double the amount of time as the vita.

By this time next year if the Vita hasn't had some serious announcements (even though I'd argue things are already looking up with the various indie announcements we've gotten recently) then I'd say it would be justified to lay in on the system, but relative to the competition's lifespan, it's going at pretty much the same pace.

Vita recommendation: BUY GUILTY GEAR ACCENT CORE PLUS R THIS TUESDAY! Do it so I can body you pls.

Wow - I just worked out I can play GOW collections and ICO/SOTC (which i've been holding off from replaying) via remote play!
I can't wait to see what this thing will do with the PS4

new vita owner hype. it's so sexy

I didn't know that and now I'm so happy.

Bought mlb 12 the show used and goddamn the hitting is hard, but the game is so addicting. Getting a hit can be very rewarding. I've never played the console version but being able to sim innings makes this perfect for pick up & play.

Anyone has mlb 13? Is there any big differences from 12?

I'm selling my mlb 13 vita without online pass in the sell trade thread if you're looking for just the game. Basically trying to get cash/psn credit out of the game

I can agree to an extent. Saying the 3DS had nothing to play until FE is overkill, but those are just your tastes. I will say the 3DS was never worth the $250 Nintendo hoped to sell it for. Especially when the best games were OOT and a $40 version of $5 DLC for Resident Evil 5.

we need to talk about playing games in this thread

has anyone NOT tried the Soul Sacrifice demo? you should be ashamed :P

still undecided on Dragon Fantasy though. It looks pretty awesome with all the upgrades but something is holding me back (maybe I'm just not filling the 8/16bit anymore.. or that FFIV Complete actually worn me out)

Caved and bought a copy of Project Diva f since it seems apparent that even if SEGA localizes it it's PS3 only.

Found a copy for only $38, in the US (minus the AR marker I can print out myself), score!

how I hope I was proficient in the Japanese language :/

Hey, I'll have you know that Diva f is probably -the- most import friendly title I've ever played. Have you tried the demo? All you need to do is memorize what main menu buttons lead where. Top left, the default, is to songs: then you get right to playing.

I tried out the PS3 version and didn't like it as much. You can tune it but I could never help but feel a sliight delay with the controls. More frustrating was that, due to the much larger screen of play, my eyes had to travel a lot more to see the notes (where in the Vita version, you can always see the full screen, and everything in your peripheral vision, making it much easier). While the PS3 version is much prettier (and has more songs that are DLC in the Vita version), the Vita version is MUCH more fun to play. For me.

hmm time to set up my 4GB card with a Japanese PSN account then (been wanting to do that but never got around doing it :/)

Dang, that's a huge bargain. Where'd you find it?

I just hated the analog-stick star notes in the PS3 version. Touch swiping in the Vita version feels much better.

eBay! Seemed like it was up for more than a day, so I dunno. Maybe they -just- lowered the price or something. It is however the Hong Kong version, and as mentioned missing the AR card (for collectors: augh!).

I do however see quite a number of $53 copies of the Japanese version in recently sold. $15 more but you get the 'proper' Japanese version and presumably the AR card as well.

I hate the touch swiping with a passion, but it beats lag

Couple of things I've noticed since the latest firmware.

- If the Vita goes to sleep, downloads pause. This never used to happen for me as long as I let the system sleep on it's own, the downloads would continue.

- Standby battery live. Seems worse.

Anyone else noticing these issues?

Downloads work like they used to, no problems for me.
Can't comment on the standby battery life but there is some kinda bug since launch. If you don't leave to the live area some games will continue to run in standby or something like that.

Man, I am at 40 hours now for persona 3. Fusing all those personas are becoming an addiction. 40 hours in 2 weeks, probably not a lot for some of you guys, but I haven't gamed this much in a long time.

After this, I am going to take a break with persona and get into soul sacrifice. Life's good. (vita means life)

Do you mean P3 or P4? Both are superb but if you're playing one you should move on to the other afterwards as they're both experiences not to be missed c:

I'm guilty of not playing it yet.

Mostly because I haven't updated my vita since I'm running a hombrew vita atm. That will change once GGAC+R comes out though.

I mean p3. I have p4, but I have other games to play. I'll move on to it some time in the future.

by the way, anyone knows if the SS Red Vita bundle would be coming to the States?
Friend loves MH3U but I'm trying to convince him to jump on the Vita (he's waiting on a deal)
boo if you see this, this post is for you. heh

(I'm loving SS but not feeling the MH3U demo at all ><)

It's not.

Why does GuiltyGear not have online, even BlazBlue at launch did :/

Bring out the Vita update for AdHoc Party Sony!

Even if it has it, the console version's online was supposedly garbage and not worth the price of entry, so I wouldn't expect the Vita release to be better.

Though MK9 Vita's netcode on Vita was an improvement over MK9 on consoles...

I'd probably like Soul Sacrifice a lot more if it was an action-adventure game. The main menu area looks great and I'd love to run around and explore it.

If you want an action rpg, y's celcetta is what you are looking for. Soul sacrifice is more of a multiplayer focused type of thing.

If you're going to recommend Ys Celceta, at least spell/punctuate the name correctly. :P

The Japanese demo was great. I've never played any of the Ys games before, but I'm really excited about the Vita entry.

Well, to be honest, I've never played any entry in the series. Maybe in the future, I have way too many games in my backlog now

I don't, I'm just saying that I would probably enjoy Soul Sacrifice more if it was. It kind of feels like a waste sectioning off the world to small playable areas, and the story to VOs only. I want an actual adventure.

That's why you're a Vitabro :)

Be warned, I hold grudges.
I was playing with this guy earlier, and I thought Cerberus was pretty low, so I sacrificed him even though he was saying "save me" -- I had a moment of weakness and didn't immediately sacrifice the next to go down. This asshole held it against me for trying to win so we'd all get the rewards.
The next game, as soon as I went down, even though I was the best of them out of the 4 of us, he immediately sacrificed me and the Cerberus was barely yellow.
If I ever see that dick again, I'm sacrificing him each and every time he drops. :lol

On the 30th, actually. It's to encourage people to buy the full game.

...You guys are buying the full game, right?
