When I first saw that match, I was blinded by my Chris G fanboyism.
I read the tweets first (eventhubs), so I was watching that match with rose tinted glasses. Chris G said Senor Taxi's a bad player and I believed him, so I was trying to find faults in his gameplay.
Now, that I've seen the match again, well, Taxi's good, but his gameplay's very rough. He didn't finish his combos, and he won because of Dante comebacks. Heck, Dante was the MVP of that whole set, clipping morrigan and getting comebacks.

I just woke up after being high as fuck on hype from yesterday.
Click on this thread and it has blown up but not on the discussion of the match but ChrisG's attitude (which I think everyone agrees was a shit move).
But man I just saw the match again and it's still omega hype. You couldn't have scripted that finish better... Vergil vs Dante both DT activated no XF deciding the fate of the universe.

I think all three of his characters did a fair amount of work. The first game Chris assassinated Vergil which secured that game for him, and was constantly threatening the space Morrigan needs to get her work started and keeping Doom on constant notice. Spencer gave him the opportunity to get around Morrigan in another game with a well placed bionic arm that caught Doom too. Seems like a pretty nice team to me; I didn't like any of his team supers (I figure Spencer needs to be on point to get anything out of those for that team) but he has a solid setup.
Whether that team is a legit problem for Morridoom is another story. ChrisG played like shit so it's hard to read how that matchup would shake out long term.
I don't feel bad for Taxi guy at all. He won that fair and square and managed to make the best player in the game salty as fuck. Nobody is taking anything away from him except Chris G, and frankly everyone else only cares about the bottom line. No one else is making excuses. And the community has had worse in the past. If we survived BrazzersGate and Cross Assault, I think we'll survive one high profile player throwing a tantrum.

True but you can't ban him when you are still guilty yourself for messing with him. I'm not saying Chris G right in calling him that but when you run the biggest FGC tourney you can't make fun of someone then ban him cause of that.
I am curious to know what those words are, and I disagree with this sentiment. The reasons slurs are top tier insults is because they illicit visceral responses from the people they are insulting. If Chris G spits "PC Venom," he may as well keep his mouth shut and count to 10. If Chris G calls Mr. Wizard a "shitstain" vs "faggot," which is the better insult for Chris G to vent his rage? As an African American, I'd rather be called a nigger than a shitstain, but ymmv.

Worst thing about West Coast tournaments is that I don't end up watching all of pools, so I miss stuff like this 
I guess this goes back to Threi's point. I can shrug off nigger, you can't. You can shrug off shitstain, I can't. There is no political correctness when it comes to insults.

Some people will spin this as a fluke, a blemish on an otherwise dominant stream of wins, just like they swept his loss at the last tourney under the rug. It doesn't really matter, though - at this point in the game's lifespan, no one has managed to master every single facet of the roster, so upsets like this can still happen. Taxi had a legit win, and there's not much anyone can say to take that away from him.
I'm still kicking myself over missing that match, though - damn my body for needing sleep!
Well insults aren't about being politically correct its about hurting the other persons feelings. If you know that's someone kypronyte in an argument is the n-word and you decide to call them that then yeah. I guess I'm agreeing
I really don't want to debate right now its too early lol but I disagree. Certain things you can say and certain things you can't. Racial and Sexual Orientation slurs are almost universally accepted as being far worse on the PC scale than regular insults regardless of your personal feelings.
But anyways....when's Marvel or AE today? Hopefully I don't have to sit through Tekken or SFxTimeout

I watched the match. I'm going to say it was staged because it was a fucking horrible match and the commentators were going on about "oh wouldn't it be MAGICAL if this guy could knock off Chris G?" For whatever reason he did lose he should not have thrown a shit fit for it. Neither should Beef.

Man that match was crazy, the sheer applause and cheering that busted up when SenorTaxi won was crazy. I really can't wait to see how things turn out today.

Those 2 Bionic Arms were definitely not random. One time Chris got hit because he went in with Doom j.M and got clocked, another time he was in mid animation with Soul Fist while calling assist. You could say that in the second instance ChrisG could've flight cancelled out in time but the lag may have prevented him... however neither of those Bionic Arms were "random" they were well calculated actions and were in both situations the most optimal move he could've made.
The real random actions in that set were those 2 THCs with Chris that wasted 3 bars. That THC is better with Spencer and Dante not with Chris. In one instance he did force a play by Chris but it was not an optimum decision. Maybe if he had used the THCs when Morrigan was closer so that he had the threat of an instant Bionic Arm but in both cases she was full screen.
It wasn't a fluke. Flocker showed that the strategy used by Senor Taxi could be very effective against Morridoom (staying mobile in the air, getting random hits in, gaining a meter advantage), and Taxi had a team shell (Chris/Dante) better equipped to minimize her fireball pressure.

Yeah, Taxi won fair and square. I'd say Chris was playing sloppy but I think that all came down to him being mind fucked in the first round when he had no idea how to deal with Chris backed up by jam session.
I just thinks his complaints about lag are pretty funny given how he wins every week on the Next Level monitors.
