As our banned prophet ZTS correctly called out- it's because Chris G always pot splits - this means that the top players don't actually have to develop and implement tech to beat him, since they just need to beat everyone but him.

I could easily see this being true, if its not actually officially known. I've seen 3 or 4 characters/teams that can do it, but because they don't make it to the top 8 stuff, people just don't seem to care. The stuff with Chris/Dante and Apology shows the hole is there. Maybe after this weekend.......
