Skullgirls DLC Character vote | The Campaign united us, The Voting will destroy us

Either way, all the girl designs are cute or sexy (except for Beatrix).

Also, Kimlinh just posted this on her facebook page. I nearly died.

If you've seen Lucky Star, you know this totally fits Annie's persona.
Hah. This made me realise that I really want to see fanart of Annie and Sagan in a Disgaea 2 parody.

All those previous rounds almost made me forget that the character I most want for this game is brain Drain. After all Painwheel needs her father figure. look at how adorable this family is!

But seriously, besides his cool design (super villain wearing an iron mask and a jacket!) his gameplay sounds like one of the most rush based and interesting. he sounds like the one of the game's most mobile characters, his inspirations are some of gaming's most insane rushdown characters, the character posession mechanic sounds very interesting and his ability to steal moves from opponents even more so. Oh, brain beams, too.

All I have to say is

I think Beowulf is one of my least favorite guy characters in the roster...

...but I'm coming around to the idea of voting for him next round just so we get another male in the roster.

you can simply add him in spot 3-5 or whatever of male characters, this runoff system takes voters like you in consideration.

Minette recolors ain't got shit on EldritchHorror!Venus.

I was lukewarm on her concept before but now I realize if she gets in she'll basically be pure horror Double.

^^If there was only one bad thing to come from all of this voting madness, it's my inexplicable addiction to the kawaiikochans tumblr. I'm not sure why I like it so much, but for some reason I find it absolutely hilarious, despite it representing everything that makes me cringe as an editor...

I dig it because it's like the keikaku joke taken to absolutely ridiculous extremes. It's so stupid it goes all the way back around to awesome.

Also, the guy has good taste in games and stuff, if you can actually understand what they're saying.

Attempting to sort my ranking so I'm prepared for the next round... oh boy :/

1 Beowulf
2 Scythana
3 Umbrella
4 Annie
5 Beatrix
6 Feng
7 Roxie
8 Panzerfaust
9 Isaac
10 Taliesin
Bolded are ones I'm interested in that NEED the push.

11 Black Dahlia
12 Marie
13 Ottomo
14 Minette
15 Andy
16 Samson
17 Venus
18 Aeon
19 Molly
20 Adam
First two I want for canon story arc to be here already, and Ottomo being a "rival" of sorts with Black Dahlia
as well as [allegedly] screwing over the Fishbone Gang, giving a little more to Ms. Fortune's backstory
is pretty cool (also, dancing-ass robot). Minette's cool with me, I like Dudley enough to want to play Andy (also, he's an anvil), then lore shenanigans and the awesome normal people.

21 Stanley
22 D. Violet
23 Mrs. Victoria
24 Brain Drain
25 Hubrecht
26 Yu-Wan
27 Leduc
28 Hive
29 Ileum
30 Regina
I like the top 5 of this tier, but 27 is where I stop caring, unfortunately.

I'm honestly kinda happy that this got more exposure as a bonus to all the donation drive antics. It's meta as hell, even if my head kinda hurts sometimes figuring things that the comic is saying out. :lol

That being said, hurry up and confirm Cree Summers as Eliza already. :P

So, dropping in here to say I'm quite intrigued by the fanbase here. I must not check out fighting game communities enough, but I must say this whole campaign seems to be bringing the game more into the forefront than before.

On that note, what exactly is happening that could threaten another entry in the series? I hear lawsuits and whatnot, but I'm not sure I fully understand. Furthermore, if SK2 (obviously some time after these 5! characters are added in) does come out, how do you think they'll set it up?

Edit: Whatever.

Here is my list, based on that ranking thing!

(1, sorted)

1. Annie
1. Marie
1. Molly
1. Aeon
1. Hubrecht
1. Scythana
1. B. Dahlia
1. Ottomo
1. D. Violet
10. Everyone else.
31. Minette.

I thought it was funny, that Minette was seriously at the very bottom. XD

Dude Cree Summers would make the PERFECT Roxie (and no not only because the sista is Black), but Eliza...?

We need a sultry Diva voice, Cree Summers awesome signature voice doesn't fit Eliza in my mind.

There's an ongoing lawsuit involving the original and current publisher of the game that's frozen up funds for Lab Zero. (I believe, I'm not sure on the current status.)

Changing the voting format could drastically change the outcome the second time around. I actually think the new format will hurt team dude's chances- Beowulf being so close to top four last time means that if the format was unchanged, he could slip into top four in round two, and with team girl split three ways, he could win the consolidated dude vote. Team girl showed they have the numbers (all female top four) last time, so I imagine a female character will win the second vote. Annie maybe? Without having the little girl fanbase split due to the new format, I could see her winning.

I think she could pull em both off.

Let's vote in Roxie so we can find out! ;P

...It's complicated.

1. Konami sues Autumn Games over unsold Defjam Rapstar microphones

2. City National Bank, who lent the money to Konami to fund DefJam Rapstar, is suing Konami and Autumn for not repaying the loan

3. Autumn Games is suing Konami over money they owe them for DefJam Rapstar and Jimmy Johnson's Anytihing With an Engine, as well as damages because Konami's shenanigans resulted in pretty much a 100% decline in Autumn's worth

While the money from #3 is important, the biggest one here is the City National Bank lawsuit. They've made a claim on Autumn Games' revenue and that's what has gummed everything up for us- they can't get investors to keep the company going because they're afraid it might get caught up in the lawsuit, they can't sell the IP because it's a source of revenue, etc.

Also, it should be noted that CNB really had no reason to cite Autumn in the lawsuit, because Konami is the one that borrowed the money and collected all revenue from sales.

The long and the short of it is as follows:
1) Game released with major loading issues on the 360, solved by a major file restructure. Microsoft continue to be dicks about that patch.
2) Autumn Games (the publisher and IP owner) and Konami (who are really only involved in getting Skullgirls and XBLA spot and no more) are being sued for something related to Def Jam Superstar. As I understand it, Konami is the big loser and has to pay everybody, and Autumn is in a counter-lawsuit, presumably to get their legal fees back. [Or what Ravi said]
3) As a result of 2, the funds for DLC, PC version and the 360 patch ran out, Reverge effectively folded and the people reformed in their houses under the name Lab Zero.
4) They managed to get a patch out for PS3, but due to Microsoft regulations, Microsoft being dicks and Konami's incompetence, they still haven't got the loading times fixed for 360.
5) Due to Microsoft banning any DLC that's available on PSN first from ever being sold on Xbox Live, DLC colours still aren't available.
6) After all that, they managed to raise funds for five DLC characters, and land a publishing deal with Marvellous to do a Steam port.

That's a lot of fi-erm I mean lawsuits

Don't forget the lack of balance parity due to the xbox patch delay. Slightly different edition is a much better and faster game stuffed full of extra tutorials, new training mode features, tournament mode, CPU fixes, the hitbox glitch fix, move lists, etc. People have been missing out on a lot.

Works if it's more representative of what people actually want and now my list of characters can be even more varied than in the first poll. Anything that lets me vote Molly more is a good thing.
