What's an acceptable size for gifs (on forums anyway) in terms of the dimensions and file size?

To be a responsible gif maker, I think this sort of thing comes first.

The ones I've created are about 2MB.

This is an incredible tool. Just in time for E3 as well.

I'm still having some problems getting the filesize down and adjusting the framerate correctly but I'm sure that'll happen with time. Thanks for linking to it. Hopefully this doesn't lead to a rampant amount of gifs for the next few weeks though.
