DriveClub (Evolution Studios/PS4) announcement trailer. [PS3 WHEELS ARE SUPPORTED]

I'm still sad that Sony gave up the F1 license.

Such a shame - we can but dream of an exclusive F1 launch title that will really stretch the new system's legs ... what Codemasters have managed to do with the current license and trend for incredibly shoddy PS3 ports is disgraceful!

It also has to be said how Evolution developed Formula One Championship with 60fps at mind and then apparently ditched it for skylight effects.

However, it is shame how those same skylights (late afternoon ones) made game literally unplayable in Time Trial mode due to absolute blinding that HDR produced.

Vanilla should make some direct-capture shots of F1:CE, that game still have some of the greatest F1 modelling ever seen in business.
I thought it was Studio Liverpool that developed F1CE, not Evolution? Or were Liverpool just the developers of some of the previous F1 games?

Only ONE Audi? :(((
Pretty sure that's just the current stock of one car dealership they visited.

If it's a LOCKED 30 I would be OK with it as long as there isn't any FR dips at all. Horizon was a great 30 FPS while GT5 had issues and consistent drops.

I would of course prefer 60, but 30 is doable if it's locked.

I'm really looking forward to DriveClub, I hope it's more sim than arcade but being a launch game it may be more accessible. Or if they make it more like Forza where you can make it an arcade game or a sim.

I'm saddened that we have come to expect 30fps driving games on next-gen hardware.

It has very little do with the hardware and almost all of it bears down on what the devs prioritise and compromise upon with the limited power of the hardware.

Great exposure there Rushy, can't wait to see and drive the final game.

Thrde questions, thank you in advance:

- are you developing with 900-FFB wheels in mind,
- headtracking via PSCam, will it work,
- 30 or 60 fps (mandatory question :))

It's a design decision. Eye candy often makes more of an impact for marketing and sales, most people don't notice 30fps vs 60fps.

From a GPU perspective, there’s a whole load of special sauce that’s gone into the GPU development. And that paves the way for us to do all sorts of general purpose compute work on there as well. It’s always going to be a balancing act between the kind of hardcore graphics guys who want to use all that power for what goes on the screen, but there’s some great complimentary stuff that we can do with the GPU as well.

Nice ;)

Hopefully the music is good and soothing, so it can catch you off-guard and you can fall asleep at the home menu. GT5's music was awesome.

Did I miss something??? Where is the lighting downgrade that was being referenced earlier? The lighting looks spectacular!

But yes... 60 fps or I'm not buying. Not even when it gets in the $10 bargain bin.

A quick question to anyone in the know - when you hit the share button to stream your gameplay (of any game) can people ONLY watch it on their PS4s or will you output a dedicated URL for people to watch from consoles/PCs?

As far as I remember it, Dave Perry/Andrew House mentioned on PS Meeting that game streaming will be routed to regular Ustream service that can be viewed from any device.

Well I guess if it was 60FPS they would have touted it as a selling point.

What lighting downgrade?

Yeah, that looks insanely good. I can't wait for this game.

You should try GT5 after the updates again. Some tracks that had problems before are now locked 60FPS.

They're either still working on the framerate or it's 30 and they don't want to come out with it yet.

They talked about streaming to smartphones and tablets at the PS Meeting. I think it's just regular Ustream.

Sheeeeeeiiiiiit.

EDIT: Damnit... was beaten. =[

I care more about locked framerate than anything, but if they can get this at a locked 60 FPS then this is going to blow people away. And it's a launch title!

Bettah physics stimulations.

And this is just the beginning of how the GPGPU can be exploited.

Well, this is very much going to be a PGR sim-cade experience. So I doubt they'll be pushing heavy physics.

GT...whatever on the other hand will have zero trouble with that.

I guess you guys should quit asking if it's 30 or 60 fps. Rushy hasn't answered so far, so I take that as an answer, he's not allowed to talk about it, I guess.

Can't see this being 60fps unfortunately. Game developers don't seem to get it.

I agree. Racing games should all be 60fps, it's a must and it plays way better. Damn EA who turned Criterion into making 30fps racing games, now many developers don't bother with 60fps as it doesn't seem to make a difference in sales.

It's one of those things that they would want to control for either way. If it is 30 fps they want to show people a demo to put to rest worries of how well it looks when running, and if it is 60 fps they want to make that want to show that off via a live demo as well.
