I suppose I'll throw all my PlayStation Meeting predictions that didn't come true into my E3 wishlist:

  • Last Guardian on PS4
  • New Santa Monica IP reveal
  • FF Versus XIII becomes XVI for PS4
  • PS Vita price drop
And... well, that's it. I had a pretty successful bingo card that night.

I assume you did a typo, why FFXVI and not FFXV?

Last year E3 was so boring and awful for Sony ( also for N e MS).

2006 was amazing and awful at the same time. 599 dollars but MGS4...

Nice listing snake.

I guess they will end the show with the price and releaee date.

Unless theres a huge exclusive to be announced.

LOL

It was just a reflection of how poor their 2012 lineup was. That was possibly the worst single year lineup ever for Sony. While 2013 is stacking up to possibly be the greatest lineup of games they've ever had.

yea last years e3 sony presser was awful...I agree with you about the 2013 and 2012 lineups though

Which is hillarious considering that they gave 2 minutes for 2 biggest games for their newly released console and then blamed having no time to show off other games for the new, struggling console.

Deep Down will most probably be multiplatform and it's still a tech demo, even then that stuff is not first party and doesn't seem like a major game sales wise (if it's Dragon's Dogma 2).I'm talking about the big games here,oh and don't worry about the 3 platform thing as Vita will most likely not be focused on.
Deep Down isn't a tech demo, it's just that the title of it is still not decided. Now it could very well be a multiplat game but pretty much all the games that showed up at Sony's event have some sort of exclusivity to PS4, so there's that.

And I would 100% say that Deep Down is a huge game. Once you get a demo presentation with those kind of graphics people will hype the game up big time. The only reason why there's little talk about it is because some people still say it's CGI.
They're going to spend 30 minutes just talking about killzone mercenary? I expect a quick montage of the couple of vita games and then telling the press they can play them at their demo units. I expect something similar for the ps3 games.

This e3 is all about the ps4. I imagine they will blow 90% of their load here. Gamescon isn't a big show and is often just regurgitated e3 stuff.
There's killzone Mercenary, Tearaway (KZ should get a demo, Tearaway a trailer) and they need to announce new games for the platform. I mean honestly, if Sony was able to announce new games for the PSP when PS3 was being unveiled for the first time at the same e3, they really need to do it here. New games, new trailers. Ignoring Vita would be the biggest mistake they could make considering they're just about to launch a new console.

And lol at gamescon not being a big show. More people attend it than they do e3, and Sony pretty much treats it as E3 Number 2 given the amount of announcements they have at Gamescon. I mean they unveiled 3 new IPs and 4 new games at Gamscon last year.
If plans don't change - and remember things can change last minute - it should be one of their best showings in years.
2009 was probably their last really good one, imo.
Can you hint at whether the conference will be PS4 only or are there any announcements planned for Vita/PS3?

Who exactly is going to be making Vita games anyway? From what it seems like, all hands are on deck for PS4 besides a few exceptions like Polyphony.

Bend, Japan, PD (maybe), 2nd party partnerships would be my guess.

Yeah I don't know... my perception of the Vita is it's been pushed to the backburner.
This is kinda what I'm afraid of. I mean I have no problem with them doing it next year when after 2 years of trying nothing seems to be working. But to do it now just doesn't sit well with me.

Sony isn't going to up and drop the PS3 just because their new system is coming out.

- Intro montage trailer
- Talk about PS family and PS3 'success' and PS4 being the future
- PSVita will play a big role in PS4... -> Here are soem games (Montage/announcement)
- PS3 has been great, and the 10 year lifecycle we believe in, there are still games to come... (GT6 trailer plays; look fantastic...next-gen - no PS4 logo at the end) ... Coming this fall on PS3!

^^^ All of the above in less than 30 minutes

- PS4 on-stage game demo(s)
- PS4 Unveil the Machine, pricing, launch window, Montage, etc.
- Tech, special guests
- Megatons
- Wrap-up the show with some final comments...

- Oh... btw... GT6 trailer was created on PS4, cross-gen, launch-window.

I can actually live with 30 minutes of PS3, PS3 was great, great games on the console, I'd love to see this celebrated.

GT6 and sims in general are a bore at conferences. Not good enough to end a new console E3.

Has Bioshock Vita been cancelled officially? Levine isn't doing anything at the moment, is he?

Per the last couple Levine interviews in Feb./March, he still apparently wants to do it at some point, but it's no closer to actually entering development than when it was announced nearly two years ago.

My guess would be that Sony was "only" willing to offer 2K a comarketing moneyhat with similar terms to what they gave Activision and Ubisoft for COD and AC, and that 2K insisted on more favorable terms. Perhaps an unreasonably high revenue guarantee, or that Sony handle the actual development.

Thanks for the answer!

I'm trying to control the hype... but it's getting more and more difficult... hahaha

I'd imagine that B:I underperforming (relative to the dev costs) probably plays a large role in that too.

Also even if Levine actually went on to do a Bioshock Vita, the game would probably still only be in pre-production at this poit and thus a no show at E3 since he's only really free since February.

Microsofts history is outright dropping the xbox when the 360 came out. But the xbox wasn't much.

So they might take the same approach again next gen, forcing users onto the new system. While sony does plan to even let their first party keep releasing titles on ps3.

This is kinda what I'm afraid of. I mean I have no problem with them doing it next year when after 2 years of trying nothing seems to be working. But to do it now just doesn't sit well with me.

Why? Sony's year 1 lineup for Vita was more than they ever tried with the PSP 1st party wise and Killzone and Tearaway have yet to launch. What good would Gravity Rush 2 or Uncharted GA 2 do this time?

I apologise, but I'm going to preach a little here.

This is a new gen launch. In an industry where we are diversifying way too much, delivering way too little and making it way too hard for people to enjoy gaming for what it is, it is a chance to stop and reset. Above all, it's a chance to show the gaming community what game creators, system designers and industry leaders have learnt since 2005.

For Sony, it is as much a revitalisation of their industry as well as a chance to show it still belongs in this game. Everyone at Sony knows they dropped the ball this gen and many inside have been waiting a long time to rectify that. I spoke to a dev in Frankfurt last month who admitted that almost everything that has gone wrong with his studios games has been a result of trying to force games down strictly defined paths brought on by limited hardware and mostly, really bad ideas. He wants gamers to reconnect, to feel enthusiastic again and he wants Sony to start making fun games once more.

Hyperbole? Maybe. I guess the proof is coming soon. I have seen much to keep me very optimistic. But the chance to reconnect with gamers again will have Sony and MS showing more than just titles for this holiday launch. Everyone remembers 2005 and 2006 E3's as setting up the consoles for this gen. So will this E3 define the start of next gen.

In Sony's case, it's about redemption.

They'll give us an ideal to strive towards, and in time.. in time we will join them in the sun.

Why? Sony's year 1 lineup for Vita was more than they ever tried with the PSP 1st party wise and Killzone and Tearaway have yet to launch. What good would Gravity Rush 2 or Uncharted GA 2 do this time?
Well because Vita has around 10 retail games releasing on it during the whole year 2013, so it would instill a bit more confidence into the platform. I guess what I'm expecting as support isn't only first party games but also 3rd party, though that is somewhat outside of Sony's control.

Also consider that GT and GoW, 2 of Sony's biggest franchises (alongside Uncharted) haven't even been mentioned when it comes to Vita, so there's definitely room to improve, I feel.

2009:
- Uncharted 2 presentation
- MAG demonstrated
- PSP Go announcement
- Gran Turismo PSP trailer + release date (finally, after being announced as a launch title!)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker announcement + trailer
- Resident Evil: Portable announced (cancelled afterwards)

- PlayStation Move revealed (without the name, spring 2010 release date which was later moved to fall 2010)
- The Last Guardian shown (we're still waiting)
- ModNation Racers revealed and presented
- Gran Turismo 5 trailer
- God of War III demo closing the show.

What? PS1 classics were around since the PS3 came out.

In terms of new retail Vita announcements, I'd expect, at most, Bend's game and whatever Ubisoft has. Maybe GR2, if that's actually happening.

Funny that GT showed up on every conference until the release of GT5 and it´s missing in the last two.

Hopefully they show something this year.

I thought the guy who said that their was another AC coming clarified that he meant a Liberations port to PS3/360. I still expecting Uncharted Golden Abyss 2 though since the first sold reasonably well.

That sounds like a list for several events and not just E3.

Yves Guillemot confirmed that Ubi has unannounced Vita titles coming this year. Doubt we'll see another AC with Sofia on Black Flag, though.

Does Ubi have any other small studios that were doing AC3 but would now be free? As far as I know, also, Sofia was working on AC4 while working on AC3:L.

I wonder what titles does Ubi have for the Vita? AC could be one, but what other high profile properties do they have that they could put on Vita?

Rayman Legends, FarCry, Watch_Dogs, Just Dance, Splinter Cell? I'd bet only in the first one.
Good luck with that.
Yep it's too long and there are several wishes points, but I really think that more than the half of the points will be there.

Rayman Legends, FarCry, Watch_Dogs, Just Dance, Splinter Cell
Right so let's go through them:

Rayman Legends- I can see this happening, Origins sold decently for being a launch (window?) title.
FarCry- doubt it.
Just Dance- No
Watch_Dogs- doubt it.
Splinter Cell- yeah this could happen.
