It was actually the right decision though.
Cisse scuffed that shot, could have planted it better for sure and it probably would have been in then net.
I don't think it crossed the line. Incredibly close though.

Newcastle, Sunderland and Aston Villa all offer much more to the League than Wigan who just linger in the relegation zone season after season.
Look. Wigan win today and their game in hand and they have 38 points. Then they win their next two, leaving them on 44. Villa win all four of their games left and they have 49. That'll be fine. Sunderland, win all yours. Newcastle, win all yours. Stoke, lose all yours.

I still can't believe people are fuming over the rumoured £12 million fee. If you want a solid leader at the back to come in and make an instant impact, who can organise his back line and understands Brendan's style of play, I can't think of anyone more suited for the money.
I'd rather we pay it and it not work out than not pay it and watch him do the business for Arsenal in the CL while we leak 2 or 3 goals at a time.
