Nah, having him between CF and MF prevents the opposition from pushing up as much as they'd like. The higher Ronaldo plays, the more license the other teams midfield and fullbacks have to attack.

Cool dude, you can stick with Benzema and Ozil. If you want to buy the best player in the PL, who is British, 23 years old and on a long contract, it will cost £70m+. Maybe you could get him for £40m when his contract has wound down a couple of years. Levy won't sell even if we are out of the top 4, we didn't sell Modric when we finished 5th and Levy refused to even contemplate it. We will do the same and Levy will see that he gives us at least one more year. There is no reason for Bale to go now, he's far too young to 'need' a move to a big club right now.

I would argue that somebody like Bale is potentially worth £60/£70m tbh.

Yes you could buy 2 players for £35m - say Gotze and Isco who are both amazing talents.

But Bale seems like a bit more of a guarantee to me. He will win games and IMO he will win you trophies. It's a massive premium to pay but if you have the money you can argue it's worth it.
