This is how I think it will go as far as what games we see and when.

Xbox event
PGR5, racing games are a great way to show off the tech
CoD Ghosts
Ryse
game from Rare

E3 conference
Alan Wake 2
Respawn's shooter
Lionhead's new IP
teaser for Black Tusk's game
maybe something Halo related

That has potential to be terrifying if done correctly and you black out your room.

Imagine a lighthouse where the rotating light extends to your room. As long as your lots are out it would help make it that much more immersive. Even basic effects would be fucking awesome.

I really don't care what the mainstream media takes away from conferences. This is the same mainstream media that lapped up Wii Fit and Wii Music. Their interests are not mine. The app thing is even more irrelevant to me because a lot of those features are going to be shared. Microsoft will have unique apps and Sony will, but most of them will be shared.
I don't care neither. But MS does. That's what I meant with my post. You stated you believe that MS will bring many games to the unveiling and I said I don't believe it, since MS focus is elsewhere.

You can hope for it, but you sure as hell shouldn't expect it. E3 is the time for them to bring the games.

Personally, I hope they focus on the features of the console, what it's about, what distinguishes it from the 360 and even the PS4, etc. Of course clips of some games/ trailers as well, but we really do not need guys from X and Y company going out and giving 5-10 minute presentations (which this would divulge into). They have 1 hour. Tell the people about what it is. We already know it's going to have better graphics and blockbuster games.

But this is just what interests me.

You're not alone.

I'm hoping for a lengthy introduction to the new Xbox OS / interface.
The only company I'd really like to see give a game presentation is Remedy (for Alan Wake 2 obviously)
Though I can wait until E3 for that too, as long as the game is announced this year I'll be fine.

The more I think about it, the more I hope MS pushes the boundaries of experiences with the 720 even if it alienates some of the core. As someone who plans to buy the PS4 and 720, the prospect of two consoles that basically do the same things bores me. Be bold MS!

I'm interested, if the rumours are right, in seeing why they've set aside so much for the OS. I'll be kind of disappointed if it's just for Kinect data as some have suggested. I agree though, I'm not really expecting anything that will turn gaming on its head.

Yep. I won't be buying both at launch. I'll be getting a gaming laptop and an Xbox. I hope the PS4 is significantly different that when I eventually do get one it won't just be an Xbox with different exclusives. And if it's different enough, I may end up just buying all 3 this year. I don't really have the time to dedicate to that many devices though.

Revised exclusives I think they will announce

May 21st
Call of Duty Ghosts (timed exclusive DLC)
Ryse
Forza 5
New IP (Rare)
Zombie shooter IP (???)

E3
Titan
Alan Wake 2
Fable MMO
New Kinect Game
Destiny (exclusive Halo themed content)

PS4 E3
New IP (Santa Monica)
New Move Game (Zindagi)
Battlefield 4 (timed exclusive DLC)
Last Guardian
Final Fantasy XV (also available on PS3)

As I said before, I really like the HTPC functions, I dont want to buy a Roku+Boxee, or keeping on my PC only for XMBC/Plex.

I'm thinking the Zombie game is going to end up being Dead Rising 3. Microsoft is known to have a relationship with Capcom when it comes to that franchise.

How likely is this now that EA and Microsoft apparently are going to be really close next-gen?

Even last year both MS&Sony has way more games than your list

Yeah. I'd love it if they seriously did not make a "gaming console", per se, but more a of a living room PC with lots of integrated software features that can play (xbox) games. They have all of the resources to finally go for it (and I hope they use them all). I hope they show up with their own "Steambox" (though I'm not sure if that was supposed to be just for games).

Hopefully May 21 isn't just a repeat of the PS4 conference.

Note that I love what Sony did too, but I want MS to be different.

Would I be the only one actually HOPING used games are blocked, or require a used game pass?

I want to be able to install my games and then play without a disc.

Game changer for me personally.

Used games passes would be fine with me. I just want to trade my games in or sell them. If others want to buy them used, then they can pay an activation fee on top of the cost of the used game.

There's a newer video that shows they're thinking a tabletop projector (and I would assume a Kinect camera to scan the wall/room around the TV).

And here it is

I should have been more specific. I know how it works but what I am wonder is that wouldn't the durango have render over 1080p? If so, doesn't that not mean taking a hit on the what the hardware can achieve? IIRC it's the same case with WiiU where the controller's visual information does tax the GPU.

I'm expecting Illumiroom to be unveiled as a product at CES 2014, It has a lot of potential and is far more interesting than SmartGlass.

What about the display planes? Maybe they play an important role.

I wonder what games will actually be available at launch. This is what Sony and Microsoft came out with on release (American).

PS3:
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
Call of Duty 3
Genji: Days of the Blade
Madden NFL 07
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire
NBA 2K7
NHL 2K7
Resistance: Fall of Man
Ridge Racer 7
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
Tony Hawk's Project 8
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom

Xbox 360:
Amped 3
Call of Duty 2
Condemned: Criminal Origins
FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup
GUN
Kameo: Elements of Power
Madden NFL 06
NBA 2K6
NBA Live 06
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
NHL 2K6
Perfect Dark Zero
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
Project Gotham Racing 3
Quake 4
Ridge Racer 6
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

This is why it's almost better to wait about 2 years after they come out to see how they actually grow into themselves. From experience Sony starts off slow and has many games they show way too early that often get delayed. Microsoft tends to have new ip's in the beginning and rely way too much on the bigger sellers later on while cutting back on development.

Waiting is the sensible/smart thing to do. When it comes to new consoles I'm just not sensible. I love playing the newest stuff, especially when it comes to new consoles.

microsoft cut back this gen because they were under massive pressure to become profitable in the division

notice the revolving door of executives?

Same here. I'm a real sucker for racing games. Man, if they come out with a new Project Gotham I'm sold!

Isn't that largely due to the original Xbox?

I believe.

Not Actually, a second screen with 720p can do it, since the projected image is so larger than the TV you can't extend it pixel by pixel.
