Am I far off in thinking those two articles about the Xbox and Miyamoto read like one of those fan-fiction writings?

Maybe they'll make the entire show about Kinect 2?

12 Days.

Plus saying 'there will definitely be games' almost seems to confirm the reveal will focus on other aspects, but there will be games too.

Well...how could they word it to not sound like the reveal will focus on non-game aspects? If this was in response to someone asking if there would be games there it's pretty much the only way to answer. Now if then end of their press release said "and there will definitely be games!" I could see your point.

Also let me say that I certainly expect there to be a good bit of non-gaming related discussion.

I expect CoD, Respawn, and even Halo to show up. Three huge franchises to be sure, and even just one of those games alone has more pull than anything Sony showed at their meeting.

... But that would be really FPS-heavy. I wonder if that would backfire at all. Maybe they'll save Respawn for E3?

Glorious Winston :)

His name is Wilson. Get it straight.

That's because Sony's biggest games at their reveal were cross-platform. Not hard to compete with inFamous and Killzone. I hope that's not the bar they're setting for themselves. Personally, any time Microsoft does a live event, they disappoint me. They don't have much in the way of showmanship. Being considered the go-to FPS machine next gen most definitely wouldn't hurt them, but that doesn't mean I want a reveal full of nothing but them. I expect to see the shell of the console. The controller. Some talk about changes to XBL. Comments about tie-ins with Windows 8 and what that means in terms of the unified app-store. CoD. Kinect 2. And then some clips of games that aren't remotely close to being ready for launch. Phil Harrison has been tweeting about demos that were completed and ready to go, though. So maybe they'll shock me.

I just can't wait to have a primary console that isn't loud as hell and heats up the room.

My former 360 Slim was easily the most silent console I have owned. Definitely more than the PS3 Slim (I had them on the same AV unit) but not sure about the OG PS3 as I did not own them side by side

You never upgraded to the PS or Xbox slim? The Xbox slim is dead quiet. It vents out, though, so it does get warm. The PS Slim isn't nearly as quiet due to the Bluray drive, but it's far from loud.

Right I'm thinking they open the show with a game. They've done so at the last few E3 conferences.

It would be awesome if the lights dim and we see Crackdown 3 being played.

If you think underpowered though they are that these systems aren't going to run hot and sound like a turbine in the room your sadly mistaken.
?

I have a PS3 slim and it's awesome, but I really do 95% of my gaming on the 360 due to all of my friends being on there and just me liking the controller more so I get multiplats on there as well unless it's definitely better on PS3. The PS3 slim is pretty awesome and it never heats up my room.

I have a fat, white 360 from what...06? It's been with me since the very beginning. It RROD'd one time in like 2009...I think?...and I sent it in to MS to be fixed. It's been working ever since then and I just don't want to dump money into a new one when the next console is right around the corner.

What if they didn't mention Kinect at all?

Well, at E3, all news is expected (the games, specs, dates, etc.)- regardless of how much gets answered. E3 would be just a little over two weeks after this show. So, if Kinect is really a central part of Xbox 3 as we assume, why not dedicate a whole hour on it. They can take advantage of the 'next-gen attention' by focusing it on Kinect, then go all out at E3.

Just trying to think how these things are planned. This show is my filler till E3.

Considering the most recent solid info we have is over a year old.... MS have done an amazing job of locking this down.... there was quite the flurry of PS4 news in the run up to the reveal and we're only just over a week left to go.

LET US CLING TOGETHER.

"NDA's, NDA's, NDA's! Nintendo Ninjas! There will be floods of new Wii-U games at E3!"

What about all the devs saying "I can't talk about that xbox thing" or "Game for PS4 and unannunced consoles".

But of course, it is better to think Microsoft will show the Xbox U.

There were plenty of those working on Nintendo games too.

I'm just saying, generally, keeping expectations at a reasonable level works out better in the end.
If MS does end up surprising everyone with a mountain of new awesome looking AAA IP's then all the better, right?

so don't have any hype right?

Why? Genuinely curious.

I concur, it'd be a slick design, but it'd fall smack dab into the middle of form over function. A tablet is handled, it's constantly going in and out of bags and such, it needs that robust outer shell for practical reasons as well as looking dab handy. For a console, it's cosmetic for 99% of people and would just add to the cost unfortunately.

I remember when this was repeated ad nauseum in the Wii-U threads.

"NDA's, NDA's, NDA's! Nintendo Ninjas! There will be floods of new Wii-U games at E3!" :D

Dude, hype away.
I was just commenting on something familiar. It's not a personal attack.

MS will not drop the ball like Nintendo did. Not a chance. They will definitely come out swinging.

Lol, that's some Rick James level shit right there. "I wouldn't just go and grind my boots on somebody's couch. Yeah, I remember grinding my boots on his couch" :P
