So many cool things this episode. Two things haven't been mentioned yet.
Diggle finally wearing the Hood costume. I was expecting this a lot earlier but it paid off to wait.
Post-Island Ollie actually getting some emotional release once it dawned on him that he doesn't have to be the vigilante anymore if he stops Merlyn. That was an excellent turn of events. For once, what we saw in present day was more interesting than the island flashbacks.

Or he wish he was. Even pre-island Olie was obviously an alpha. For a guy having such beta son, Olie might seem very nice.

When Barrowman dies, tommy is going to be there and watch, and not only is Ollie going to be the one to kill him, Barrowman will tell Ollie that even though they went about it different ways, he is still very proud of what Ollie has become and wants him to continue to save the city. Then Tommy realizing both fat face and his dad both like Ollie better, he will go insane.

I want a Batman spin off, you can do so much with a tv show like this that you just can't in cartoons or have enough time in the movies for.

because for some reason i thought Ollie was about to hand him his ass considering Malcolm wasn't suited up. NOPE lol.
i do think the "oh no" was out of concern for Ollie. at least in part.

I imagine the announcement will be for Wonder Woman and Booster Gold, since those are the only shows we've heard about. I would still love to be surprised by a Nightwing or Zatanna or Static project though.

Sadly they have tried to get a Nightwing show going I think twice and it didn't work out.
I still think it would work if they did it similar to Arrow but as a detective show. Use someone like Riddler as a big bad.
Make the relationships with Talia & Selina a big part of the show. parent stuff in flashbacks , Island like flashbacks to Bruce in the League of Shadows & Talia relationship.
maybe the BTAS thing with Zatara training Bruce & having a relationship with Zatanna.
develope GCPD characters like Bullock & Montoya
Tommy Elliot(Hush) as a childhood friend, friendship with Harvey.
and you'd even have room for alot of Barbara & Dick development.
Could have Jason Todd as Robin in season 2 and become Red Hood in 3 or 4.
later seasons could easily add characters like Cass and Damian.
My love of Nightwing completely overrides my ability to accept the logic in either of these posts.

Me too. Dat Ollie and Merlyn fight had to be hands down the best. Merlyn is turning into the villain I wanted him too. Wish it happened sooner with this badassery.
Hopefully Merlyn will take out Tommy for being a little bitch or in calateral damage.
And Walter they take him off the show for 6 months and then he leaves. NOT MY WALT!
Wonder Woman shows have kept getting canned for some reason. I doubt we'll ever see one at this rate.

Depending on the other shows, that could get messy. You have Arrow, which is so grounded in realism that it would immediately clash with say Zatanna or Wonder Woman. Ollie would look pretty weird fighting alongside Deadman or Animal Man. lol
If DC wants to really be awesome, a big budget New Gods show on a cable network would be ace.
The Flash had a tv show.
The last WW show they tried was a hot mess and the network thankfully passed. Hopefully, they learned from that mistake and are doing better with "Amazon."
At the C2E2 DC Panel, they said that they have definitely thought about doing this for future shows. I really hope they do.
i'd love it if they could make a good Wonder Woman show. i just don't see it working.

I think having those overpowered super heroes show is expensive because of all the CGI?
You wouldn't really need to much CG for a Wonder Woman show. Nothing beyond the level of Supernatural, at least. Most of her rogues have pretty tame abilities.

He finally tracks down The Hood and sees his face. Who knows, maybe he even helps out a bit with Merlyn/saves Ollie's life.
I did because I hope it means only Roy finds out who The Hood is and Thea gets even more marginalized in the show.
They'll find out that they are siblings in the 2nd season.

I think I could live with that. Oliver becomes a father figure to Roy and that soon will turn into a secret love that they both cannot resist and in the explosive finale (both literally and figuratively) they do it.

Oh god, this episode was amazing. From that NTR to Ollie getting his ass kicked again. I think the "Oh No" represented the fact that Malcolm was doing this whole thing to create a better world for his son and people like Ollie. Instead he had Ollie outright rejecting his plan and the consequences that the Undertaking turned Ollie into the Arrow. It was more of a "What Have I Done?" moment.

Oliver and Laurel hooking up.
That was fucking stupid. I hated it. I hated it so much. This relationship makes no sense. It's incredibly weird and toxic and just fucking weird. Tommy's actually the most interesting person in this relationship. He's the only one with legit reasons for being so fucking beta. Oliver's actually kind of a fuckin' prick in this one.
You know what. I hope he does become the Dark Archer. Malcolm Merlyn is alpha as fuck. Putting the suit on, some of it will rub off on Tommy.
Also, Malcolm Merlyn. So. Fucking. Badass. He doesn't need a bow or anything to wreck your shit. I hope to God that Malcolm doesn't die in this season, cause he's one of the best bad guys on TV. Barrowman is too fucking awesome as Merlyn. I read somewhere that Oliver is the son that Malcolm wished he had... which is fairly depressing for Tommy. Might help explain the "Oh no." at the end. He genuinely cares for Oliver.
That last fight was so good.
Felicity was in fine form tonight. Love that girl. Diggle was also great tonight, punching Oliver repeatedly and in the heist scenes. Loved that stuff.
The Thea/Roy subplot doesn't deserve a GIF, cause it was so boring. Roy's just a douchebag. I want to punch him in the face.
It pretty much was. Imagine this entire show from Tommy's point of view.
- Starts out as a douchebag party boy with a crush on his best friend's girl
- Best friend dies
- Continues to pursue best friend's girl cause he's hopelessly in love
- Changes himself to become a good man, she begins to fall for him
- Best friend that girl might also still love returns, all badass and scarred and shit
- Is thrown out by his dad
- Is given a pity job by his best friend (that his girl might still love)
- Actually manages to do the job well and attains some self-respect and pride
- Turns out best friend is a serial killer who is still in love with his girl
- Tries to do "the right thing" and leaves girl because he just wants her to be happy with the best friend
- Goes back to dad cause he's got nothing else. Gets a pity job.
- Best friend comes back and lecture bombs him, leading him to believe that he can be happy with the girl
- Goes to girl's apartment to find best friend nailing his girl.
Oliver's a fucking douchebag, holy shit.
Too funny.
