Yeah, the demo being displayed through a compressed internet video is totally the way to "measure" performance.

There were enough details shown for people to see the relatively small differences between the PC and PS4 version. So I think that's good enough.

Your first mistake was taking any fanboy seriously.

Yes, lol. It made sense to me, but probably because I wanted to believe that MS was going to make this awesome console.

Have there even been any hints that AW2 might be happening?

Yes, in a town called Ordinary.

There were enough details shown for people to see the relatively small differences between the PC and PS4 version. So I think that's good enough.

...and can still be different as the engine is being optimized further. I just think that an impressive looking game would make for a better showing than that boring demo again. I could not care less for comparisons.

There's going to be a ton of jRPGs. **scrying**

It'll be nice for dick waving purposes (spoiler: PC wins again) but I am tired of seeing it. Save that shit for the show floor or something. That way people can still see how far behind the PC version it is but it doesn't have to take up conference time. Win/win.

Fuck that, show me your new game or at least gameplay of Fortnight. I don't want to see Elemental demo for the 900th time when I know it's going to still work without a significant difference in performance on Durango than it does on PS4.

damn straight.
show us infiltration demo instead !

Yup, I'm just imagining all those positive after positive bit of news/headlines for the PS4.

Your not imagining positive after positive bits of news. But your also blocking out the fact that the opposite reaction of Twitter and YouTube as well.

One of the most hilarious videos on YouTube this year was the now CLAASSIC PS4 reveal abridged version. I almost spit my drink out when it came out. Now it's at 5 million views. I wonder if they will do one for Microsoft. Do yourself a favor and watch it if you hadn't seen it. Even die-hards got a chuckle out of it.

I hope not. I've tried to get into the genre over the years but I just can't find that game that does it for me.

Have you tried Persona 3: FES or Persona 4: Golden?
I suggest you try those, they are outstanding, innovative, and extremely deep.
Unlike other RPGs, fighting is just a piece of the pie, these games like on social communication and quiz you like brain age... Through the communication with your peers, you mold your character's attributes and links, while with the questions you get asked, you get a chance to sim date a very hot redhead/brunette.

These are unlike other RPGs, it's a pity they are not better know.

You have bat droppings passing for what was once a good series in Final Fantasy, and other franchises.

Yeah, they've optimized it since the PS4 elemental demo so it should be ready by now.
But, I see your point. If they show enough gameplay then the elemental demo won't matter
as much. If they just show a bunch of short teasers and renders and no elemental demo then
that would be a red flag, IMO.

Actually that's one of the few more modern ones that I want to try.

Maybe I'm playing all bad games?

Here's some I can remember:

On Gameboy
-Final Fantasy I & II

PS2
-Final Fantasy XII

Xbox 360
-Tales of Vesperia
-Lost Odyssey
-Final Fantasy XIII

I haven't tried any on my PS3 yet. I've thought about maybe Ni No Kuni or FF X HD when it comes out. Are the Persona games on PSN?

It's not just the increased competition from mobile gaming that has Kotick worried, however. The company president also called out the first of the next-generation consoles, Nintendo's Wii U, as evidence that Microsoft and Sony may struggle to drum up interest in their devices when they launch towards the end of the year. 'In addition, the newest console, the Wii U, has had a very slow start,' explained Kotick. 'All of these factors further heighten our concerns heading into the back half of the year, particularly during the very competitive fourth quarter.' - Source

SMH, I just don't understand how he ended up the CEO of one of the biggest gaming publishers in the world.

Great video. He better do one for the Xbox reveal. His response is better than the mainstream press, who basically crapped on the reveal for not showing the console.

Its seems to have been forgotten, but there was a fair bit a disappointment on GAF too. At the time I remember reading a lot of comments about "more of the same" and that none of the games look like system sellers.

Somehow that's turned into "best console of all time" since the unveiling though. Well done Sony for that.

Wasn't he there before CoD 4?

He happened to be lucky enough to be at a company that would host one of the biggest cultural phenomenons of the decade, and possibly the decade after. I don't want to say luck, but it's not like he knew that CoD 4 was going to build an empire like this.

Many times this is the work of a very vocal minority that makes it difficult for any discussion. Those interested in discussion just move on.

And Bobby K...I don't know how he got to where he was but I HAVE to assume it involved ritual sacrifice.

Remedy seemed really passionate about the series going forward, but no real indication there could be a sequel. But come on dude think positive.

AW really is one of those games that has a lot of potential for a sequel. Making it open-world is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

Saying that though I have a feeling they won't announce AW2 but a new IP. That Marlow Briggs trademark sounds like one of theirs.

the vacuum from Ms being silent did that. There's been very little other news apart from sales doom and gloom and negative Durango rumours... What else were console games going to talk about if they wanted to be excited about next Gen?

its really exciting to think we won't know for sure whether Sony really did good until Ms reveals.

Marlow Briggs is a MS IP and Remedy owns the Alan Wake IP, it would surprise me honestly. AW2 is a dead giveaway to me, may or may it not be called Alan Wake 2.

Only interesting bit in the article:

While Microsoft's plans for the set-top box are uncertain, the company still is laying the groundwork to ease the creation of applications and games. Several people familiar with Microsoft's development efforts said the company has been telling teams to write programs using coding standards that Microsoft recently developed. The idea, the people said, was to make it easy to write a program that can work on an Xbox, a smartphone or a Windows personal computer running Microsoft's software.

That was one of the stupidest videos I've ever seen.

Agreed, it was great.

It's thread worthy at how funny it was.

I had no idea they did these for games as well. They have one for Assassin's Creed etc.

I'm listening to their Podcast on the EA Star Wars news and I guess these guys were always this funny.

Oh the Xbox Reveal is guaranteed.

What do you mean? If MS has cross compability across their ecosystem(Durango, Win Phone & Win 8) than that's a megaton that Sony just can't compete against.

Well, it is not as easy as it sound, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 needs to grow, and I said it as a Windows 8 and Windows Phone user.

Sega Spectrum?

I wish.

I'm truly confused as to why this is a megaton. I didn't realize there is a huge proliferation of mobile gamers who can't wait to play their mobile games on Windows phones. Or play their PC games through the Windows 8 marketplace. Skulls of the Shogun really lit up those sales charts being Windows 8 ecosystem only.

If we are talking about creating games, PS4 is closer to PC spec than Durango is. Though they are both close.
