For the first poll we started with 31 characters in round one, which was whittled down to the top 16 in round
two, for a total of 15 characters eliminated:
Females eliminated: 7
Males eliminated: 7
Samsons eliminated: 1
In the second poll, we started with 30 characters moving to 20 remaining in round two. Of those eliminated, the gender balance was:
Females eliminated: 3
Males eliminated: 6
Samsons eliminated: 1
As I suspected, it seems that males made it further in the first poll because of the voting format and the much smaller pool of male characters to choose from relative to female characters meant that the male vote was inherently more focused, while the female vote was spread thinly amongst many candidates. With the new system, fewer females were eliminated during the first round this time around while the male eliminations were nearly identical.
For the first poll, looking at the characters to choose from during round two, it was 11 female and 5 male characters. 4 of the 5 male characters made it through to round three, which was probably due to the much smaller pool of candidates to choose from. All 4 were subsequently eliminated going into the last round.
For the new poll, we have a 14 to 6 gender split between the 20 remaining characters. I expect the top 10 will have fewer males than were in top 8 last time- maybe only Beowulf, or best case scenario, Beowulf and Isaac. The rest will be female, I'd guess.

TEAM is the keyword here. having the 4 guys there split the vote. if it ends up being JUST Beowulf left, I can see him beating any girl, as the girls will split the votes this time. It may be his best chance.
Instant run-off would disagree with this kind of assessment.
Even if he makes top 10, if team chicks ranks him at the bottom of their lists, he'll still get stomped. They aren't going to put their favorite female first and him second.

Fewer guys in the top won't matter with the new voting method.
The only thing that matters is how people rank Beowulf (the top guy) against the top girls. (Annie, Aeon, etc.)
If we want Beowulf to win, put him higher than the popular girls. Better yet, put him at number one. He's the only guy that can win, and the sooner people realize this, the better.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to vote differently or do anything- I just enjoy speculating for the sake of speculating. I'm most looking forward to getting the hard data and seeing whether any of my bullshit analysis has been remotely accurate
A lot of people voted based on aesthetics and not mechanics. Aesthetically, Adam has nothing. He was made intentionally bland, therefore people in general assumed that he was bland.
Better look at the improved supers, for anyone that missed it or just wants to see it again.

While the concepts are awesome, I wish they wouldn't release any until after the vote since they didn't do them for everyone beforehand. Kinda skews things unfairly IMO.

Absolutely phenomenal. I thought the green was a bit too saturated on stream but the high quality video definitely makes the effect seem less intense in actuality.
Yes! It may not sway many voters in Round 2 but something like this could really be the deciding factor for Round 3 shenanigans. I know the Marie concept has definitely made her a lock for my top spot going into the next round.

I don't necessarily want Beowulf to win, but out of the top 4 from the previous poll, Beowulf is way more appealing than them so I'm just gonna vote smart from now on to go with my least unappealing character for the higher ranks.

Which of the following new features would you like to see in future Skullgirls games? Select up to three.
Argghhh this is too hard. Replays and canon stroy are a given for me. But I can't decide between survival and more lessons/tutorials. Survival mode has always been a favorite mine in every fighting game I've played that actually has it. More tutorials are always a good thing and if they get character specific it can really help alot more people get better. Time to roll the dice

Ended up sticking to my original plan for voting. Illeum, Beowulf, Stanley and Umbrella first. I've also grown to like Taliesin, so he's further up than I had him last round.
