It's pretty much the same logic as last time, only this time I bothered to try and rank everyone, with some second-guessing the further I got down the list: faves on top, then story folk, then some that could be interesting to play or add to the story, then the deity sisters because I'd rather have Mike plan them as regular characters, and then boss them up (I don't like Aeon's design, but I prefer her cameo summoning potential over Venus' shennanigans), from then on it was mostly aesthetics considerations and pushing down playstyles I consider unwieldy for me.
The numbers are what I got in the character sorter, the order is how I voted - I decided Ileum was less embarrassing than D. Violet, that Molly was too inclined toward assists when i usually play a solo team, that despite considering Beatrix a cut-off point between characters I was almost indifferent too and possible contenders I might want to push down, that I really don't like her, so it wasn't worth gaming her position like that.
As for the merchandise stuff, I went for the visual stuff like comics - narratives and artwork can get interesting, and are less of a bother to store than figures.
for the stuff to add to the game, Canon Story was a lock, and also expanded tutorials. The rest I was sort of "meh" on - I would have prefered if the "world tour/RPG mode" had been better explained, even if it was what I ultimately voted on - it's a cconcept from a home version of SFA3 not that many people are familiar with, and the "world" factor makes more sense in SF, where you go from continent to continent, than SG where you barely leave a city or 2.
Survival mode isn't that appealing, and with all the FGC's criticism of the problems with playing the computer instead of human opponents, I'm kind of surprised it's even there - it's easy to implement, but doesn't even have the charm of something plot-driven.
From memory, other proposed modes either involved messing around too much with the established gameplay or were likely to cover such fringe cases they might not be as enjoyable or help train skills for the core game.
I hope we get more Roxie artwork and gameplay demonstrations soon...
