They are making tribal towers and working on Ryse multiplayer according to rumors.
Not even sure if I'd rather have them working on Crackdown 3 considering how Crackdown 2 went. Even with the shortened development time.

Giving Crackdown to Rare might be cool.

Whaaaat that's what makes it hilarious for me! Pictures of Mulder with "Only on Xbox" stamp is funny shit!

It wasn't a bad Crackdown game at all, it was quite fun. It was just not enough new things.

Awesome. If Xbox every actually made an xfiles game kind of a mix between Alan wake and la noir I'd be all in day one.

I still need to watch the show all the way through. I've seen probably a dozen or so random episodes, but I want to go through the whole thing on Netflix. Might be a good way to kill some time after next week until the announcement.

Runs out steam towards the end of the series but the first 5 seasons are absolute gold.

Glad people are finally starting to get hyped only 9 days left.

Indeed. I wonder if Microsoft will be able to go all the way without any leaks. A few trademark filings we will probably see next week, but I wonder about leaks.

Simulated Don Mattrick burn in.

No offense guys, but the "only on Xbox" made more sense when it was a picture of an actual xbox exclusive not slapping it on random pictures. It looses significance and it's not really that funny either.
I see your concerns, and I answer with this:

9 DAYS GUYS! GET ON THE HYPE TRAIN! NEXT ONE IN 6-8 YEARS!

:)

I'm bummed that Illumniroom isn't going to be a thing, at least not for a while. It's such an interesting idea that could make playing games even more immersive.

Interesting idea, likely more of a hassle than you think in actual execution (setting up a projector that points towards the TV?)

Oculus Rift is closer to what I actually want for immersive gameplay

Yeah, you kind of run into problems with spacial issues and setup with that thing. It's such a shame that it's so difficult to execute, because the idea is fantastic.

Has Illumniroom's release schedule been confirmed?

I'm not sure, but I'd like to know.

Could someone please Only Xbox-ify this:

I've been trying to but its a little more complicated then I thought it would be. :p

Bacon your new avatar is screwing me all up LOL
Seriously, nice to see some hype gaining. Show me Alan Wake 2 Microsoft. You know you want to. PWESSSE!!!!

Oculus Rift + Kinect 2.0 could be a great combo but the Rift tech doesn't seem ready for that at all.

Hey guys, I've not really followed any gaming news, or GAF, for the last monthish, are there any juicy rumors about what they're showing? The OP doesn't have anything.

Pretty sure Kinect was a Research thing at first.

Yep, but they didn't release it. Unless something has changed recently, Illumiroom is still owned by Microsoft Research, which means it's still being conceptualized/fine-tuned/shopped/killed.

Wow, the lack of hype in this thread is amazing.
The PS4 thread was beautiful.

You hear that guys? You're not thirsty enough for Galacticos. Work on that.

The console, most likely. They can't not show it after mocking Sony for not showing theirs.

Well, CoD: Ghost is there with a trailer at least. Nothing further has been announced or leaked.

Talking aobut MS Research I found a very suspicious video about "next gen" cameras:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt0lCcmZIQU

This project presents next-generation webcam hardware and software prototypes. The new prototype webcam has an extremely wider view angle than traditional webcams and can capture stereo movie and high-accuracy depth images simultaneously. Users can chat with stereoscopic video. Accurate depth-image processing can support not only all Kinect scenarios on a PC, but also a gesture-control user interface without a touch screen. Besides computer vision, the webcam includes a hardware accelerator and a new image-sensor design. The cost of the design is similar to that of current webcams, and the webcam potentially could be miniaturized as a mobile camera. The project showcases new user scenarios in playing games with this webcam.

It's still owned by Microsoft Research. Has MSR ever released anything?

MSR doesn't make products, they just do all of the research. If there's a project that they think can make into a product, then they'll partner with another team to make it happen, for example Kinect.

We shouldn't be expecting IllumiRoom as a product you could be anytime soon. If they were planning on this, we wouldn't have heard about it (much like how we didn't hear about Kinect when it was being researched until we saw the final product at E3). However, I'd imagine that the amount of attention the project has been getting is making them think hard about how they could turn it into a product. It wouldn't surprise me if we had something similar to IllumiRoom in the NextBox's lifespan.

Also, could someone Only On Xbox my avatar? :)

MS Research is an that organization loves to show off their prototypes. They are great ideas, but until you see if from an actual product group, then its like a TED talk, its just ideas and demoes.
