It's also not releasing in the US in the 2nd quarter, so your reasoning for not unveiling a price at GamesCom would apply equally to E3.
While this may be wishful thinking, I fully expect an European release this year: Multiple retailers have stated as expecting it this year, and the fact that Sony had advertised their PS meeting during football games are my corroborating evidence.
I don't expect any price information at E3, as it still seems too early: Sony would probably want to retain flexibility for a bit longer.
price will be revealed at e3. They are gunning for Oct/Nov launch . If the ps4 is less than 600$, that would be enough to generate headlines like "ps4 to cost 100$ less than ps3"

Going by their past system announcements PSVita, PS3 - they have announced the price at E3. I think they might do the same thing with the PS4.
Regarding release date, I do hope it gets released this year in EU instead of Japan.

Could we really even call that an exclusive though? The game only exists because Nintendo paid money to make it wise from its gwave when neither Sony or MS wanted anything to do with it. At this point, it's a first party Nintendo game that won't sell (this is a discussion for another time though).
I guess it's a reasonable assumption then that we will get a price quote, I'm interested in what we will have to pay (I'm prepared to fork over whatever they ask for anyway

I'm almost positive you'll see a $399 and a $499 sku.

I feel Epic going to have much harder time selling there engine next gen or at least having so much market share .
They have more competition this gen , for eg take monster hunter online if it was this gen it would have used UE3 but it using Crytek engine.
Then there is Unity for indies and it seem to getting really popular .
Also the best way to show of your engine is with a game so i expect at least 1 from them .

Really not looking forward to any of that exclusive window stuff this time around...I hope the only true exclusives are games developed in-house or published by Sony/MS respectively. I wouldn't mind Gears going multi-platform I guess, but wouldn't lose any sleep if it's not.

I am thinking that PS4 will get a few exclusives from Japanese developers though. SE, Level 5 hopefully bring Japanese titles back to the fore-front and re-take the thrown on the RPG genre.
I love how X looks on WiiU, so hopefully we see more original looking titles like these...
Honestly though, I'm just hoping for PS4 to have a great ecosystem, and avatar create mode so my consoles feels personalized, and for WWS to show up...

Not me. I just don't want to participate when crap like a luigi hat and "only on xbox" gets promoted for the sake of creating a "community". Same with Kaz, although I didn't see it as nearly as bad since I was so sick of seeing Reggie everywhere for the past 3 years while people brought up the ridiculous E3 2006.
I don't understand the point of this, honestly.
I respect Cerny and his works, but plastering his face everywhere isin't going to make me more or less of a fan than some of you guys doing this.
It reminds me of the popit sticker from LBP more than anything. And thats only fun when I was stranded in some level and start plastering stickers all over the place.

Some of them rub me the wrong way (yes, only on xbox is so putrid and lazy, and luigi caps are starting to just signify dunce caps), but some of them strike me as just fun. I liked the Raiden glowing eye thing, I liked the Ni No Kuni nose piercing thing, etc. When these things arise naturally from people being excited or liking something, I think that's cool. I guess that's why I don't like some of the others, because they seem forced, and retaliatory.
So yeah, I'm a bit on the fence with this one, or have been, as it isn't a "hey, I really like this game!" or even the developer, but a huge platform holder, which is a little fanboy-ey for my tastes. However, in this instance I'm a big, BIG fan of the way the Kaz and Cerny meme of putting their faces on stupid fun gifs came to be. That was organic. And fun. Putting them on avatars seems to be a sensical next step.
And it's not about pimping anything, in this case either. I only got involved in trying to get an oddly-shaped mango to have a Cerny face on it, because I thought it would make me laugh. And it did!

It's the beginning of a new generation, this E3 is going to be absolutely huge and people are naturally very excited. All this is just a party and an expression of that excitement. I agree with others here about the 'ONLY ON XBOX' label being a little lame, it doesn't have either the warmth or the creativity of the Kazification/Cernification phenomena but it's great they've found something they can do to also join in the fun. If you ever change your mind about getting Norman done, just let me know.

Yeah, I really don't understand all the fuss about Knack from what we've seen so far. I'm looking for next-gen DNA in my next-gen games, and Knack looked like something from the PS2. I didn't like the art style, I didn't like the concept, and I didn't like what I saw of the gameplay. I was amazed that it opened the gaming part of the conference.
It could be Sony's Kameo: a gimmicky console-launch game with a lot of hype behind it, but one that ultimately underdelivers and falls flat.
