Maybe I'm just getting old. The Wii U reveal wasn't exciting, the PS4 reveal (or lack thereof) certainly wasn't exciting, I worry that the Durango reveal will go the same way.

Your getting old, im still wide eyed and bushy tailed. I know getting excited for a piece of plastic and wires does not sound very exciting, but this is what we like to do in our free time. Also in 2005 i was jizzing all over my face for big blockbuster titles like Call Of Duty 2. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE 21st

Also someone add ballmer and cerny in this, its 12:33 over here.

I liked the PS4 reveal. I kept my expectations low as I do for the Xbox reveal and I'm not expecting any megatons.

But this thread is just one of the rare MS threads lately with a positive vibe so keep the hype train going.

I think it may be because of all the sound it might create, which would suck for everyone.

And I've never heard of a soundproofed tent, and with that opening it has, it looks like it may not be, but I hope it is soundproof.

Slow news day, so:

You can install suppression systems on the roofs of fabric buildings to dampen rain percussion, but TentBox doesn't (currently, from the photos) have anything in place. If it does rain heavily then the audio inside will be terrible, unless some form of acoustic insulation is installed under the roof. It's a massive problem with transparent inflated cushion ETFE roofs (which are increasingly being used to replace glazing due to cost and weight). You literally cannot hear yourself speak during heavy downpours under large ETFE roofs.

Yes, I used to do this for a living.

so... could be postponed due to weather but would actually need to be storming during that hour.

That is genuinely interesting.

Do you think they would have taken that into account iirc Major Nelson was hoping the weather holds up for next week.

Those reveals were just old franchises in shinier coats.. hopefully we'll see something actually new from Microsoft.

Though knowing COD will be there doesnt give me too much hope for a torrent of new ideas.

would you pay monthly subscription if next xbox allow u to watch a "x" number of movies on xbox movie istead to rent or buy each one?

I'm sure they've considered it and have contingency plans in place. Regardless of the weather, the audio quality inside the tent will probably be pretty poor unless they line the walls and ceiling with acoustic baffles.

I really don't understand the thinking behind erecting a temporary fabric building for this event - they are usually used where no suitable existing alternative exists. There must be countless dedicated theatres or auditoriums in the Redmond area capable of holding 200+ people, and all of these will have been acoustically engineered for stage presentations (as well as having welfare facilities, infrastructure, toilets, bars, proper seating, power, existing speaker systems etc). The arguments about keeping everything on-campus for security reasons only holds water if EVERYTHING for the event was created on site by MS staff, which is probably unlikely unless it really is just a pretty low-key event.

This is genuinely the most fascinating thing in this thread in the last little while. Thank you for the enlightenment, brother.

I can't understand where there's not a 'entertainment pass' on Xbox.

I'd happily pay £15 a month to watch movies and listen to Xbox Music. Or a higher tier of live that gets these services included.

I love the styling of that.... wonder if it reflects anything about the dashboard?

Nah... it will be Metro won't it.

One doesn't exclude the other, I suppose it could be possible to make an interface based on disks while following the metro guidelines... I'm not sure it would be very efficient or intuitive, but it's still a possibility.

agree...i would pay it for sure! and like me i think lots of ppl where netflix there isnt

Hey man, I got crazy hyped for the PS4 reveal and it was a complete and utter let-down outside of Knack.

It leaves you a little bitter when you're expectations aren't met, especially when you allow them to run wild and start hoping for/expecting big game reveals. Better to temper those expectations and be surprised than let them run wild and be disappointed.

Same here, the hardware and OS stuff sounded really cool but software wise the PS meeting was mediocre (the complete lack of SCEJ games was disappointing).

Now about the Durango reveal at least for me it wouldn't be hard to top the PS meeting (Alan Wake 2 and PGR5 will be more than enough for that) but I'm not expecting megatons, I think it's safe to say that we have E3 for that...both will drop bombs. :P

Based on the widget some new ideas for names:
Xbox Globe (Xboxglobe.com is owned by MS)
Xbox Ring (XboxRing.com ownership coincidentally changed today when the widget went live - new owner : name: qijunjie , address: zhejiangshengtaizhoushi ... wtf?)
Xbox Loop also reenters the stage
Xbox Orb

Wait, why would MS own the domain of xboxglobe.com? That definitely would never be the name of a console. Doesn't even have a ring to it.. no pun intended. How long have they owned that? Not to mention I don't see them calling anything loop, orb, or ring. This is what desperation looks like when MS won't give us more to work with though I guess. lol

Hello guys!
Nice gifs and pics. I wont quote because of mobilegaf, but I had a laugh :))

It looks like all "leaking" will be done by that xbox tent account on twitter.
Unless some very high level microsoft guy will have a casual xbox reveal conversation with a banker or something and we get "unofficial" leaks through there :)

Anyways, as I said, as long as microsoft has not lost its xbox gaming focus, I'm cool to wait them out.

You think that RevealTent account is something official?

Maybe I did not pay enough attention, but I think I saw that tent account mentioned in a tweet by either greenberg or nelson? Can somebody that his time zone is not "just woken up" verify? Or wait until I has my coffees :)

Yeah they mentioned it pretty early but @thevowel basically said, that he also doesn't know whether this is something official or not.

So MS is behind the running of that Xbox Tent account on twitter? It is pretty funny and clever if so because tents can tend to "leak". When I saw the interaction between the tent account and Aaron Greenberg about it being better on the inside of the tent and the wink, I figured something was going on.

So I saw correct then.
Well, if aaron aknowledged that tent, I cant see how its not official, given the "adam who" stance a few weeks ago.. But maybe I just havent sipped enough caffeine yet :)
